Perfectly located this gorgeous 1 BR unit is less than a 10 minute walk to the Convention Center, Rainey Street and some of East Austin’s most talked about restaurants, music venues and food trucks. The apartment is newly built on the second floor over a one car garage. Our guests can park in the garage and walk up the stairs to the clean open space. The main living space is composed of the combined kitchen, dining, and living room. The living room has a large flat screen TV, desk space, and surrounding windows with views of downtown Austin. We have a futon which can fold out in to a full size bed or a queen size air mattress for extra guests. The fully equipped kitchen comes stocked with all your cooking needs with all new stainless steel appliances, Keurig coffee maker, and plenty of counter space. The bedroom is located down the hall with a queen bed and small office nook. The full bathroom is located in the hallway with a beautiful tile/stone walk-in shower and granite sink.
Our home is located in easily one of the most sought after areas in the city, the Willow-Spence Historic District featuring an intact neighborhood of houses, churches and commercial buildings built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Across the street you’ll find Sister’s Coffee, Veggie Nom Vegan Tacos and in a beautifully restored 1887 home, Cenote Café. Close by you’ll find nationally recognized eateries such as Bufalina, LA Barbeque, Launderette, Veracruz All Natural, Juniper and an Austin landmark Juan-in-a-Million, home to the “Don Juan Taco”. In the evening enjoy live music at Stay Gold, Hotel Vegas and the Historic Scoot Inn originally built in 1871. A short walk to the Historic Rainey Street District you find Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden, Craft Pride, The Container Bar and many, many more. It’s a good thing you are within walking distance to everything. You will need to burn off all those calories from indulging in the Live Music Capital of the World. Welcome to the colorful and historic East side of Austin!

The location is awesome. You can walk to many local hotspot on the east side. The apartment was clean and bigger than the pictures make it look. My only suggestion would be to get the handle to the bathroom door fixed. The door did not completely close so you couldn't lock it.
The location is perfect. The apartment was clean it was nicely decorated, the bed was extremely comfortable the bathroom was clean and functional. We were moving my daughter down so it was great to have the garage to unload some boxes while we drove around austin. I would highly recommend this property
Loved this garage apartment that was clean, modern, and has great natural light. So nice to have a garage for the car. Great, convenient location. I highly recommend Cenote (less than 2 blocks away) for coffee and excellent food. Vegan Nom taco truck across San Marcos is also great. There is a large contingent of homeless people who congregate near the Baptist Mission across Cesar Chavez and in the library parking lot. That said, I never felt unsafe. Cesar Chavez is generally a busy road, so I recommend driving east on the alley then left/north on Waller to use traffic light at Cesar Chavez (especially if going west – toward town). Provided was shampoo/conditioner and bar soap, but no lotion. Kitchen included Keurig coffee maker and coffee. Kitchen seems well equipped, but we did not cook there. Kitchen towels would be nice. If you are looking for a massage, I highly recommend Melissa at Form & Function Massage, about 2 blocks away. The Samsung tablet included information about the house that you will receive via email before you arrive, then standard apps such as AroundMe, Yelp, Google maps. So, not helpful, assuming you have a Smartphone. I used the tablet charger for my devices and received an email from TurnKey asking me to plug tablet in (creepy). The owner provides a good bit of useful local information. I also recommend Mr. Natural, Counter Culture and Juiceland (juice and smoothie place) on E. Cesar Chavez for nearby restaurants. Note: when you Google the address, you will not see the actual garage apartment, as it is behind the property off an alley. Town Lake trail is about half a mile south (access from Waller) if you like running, walking or biking. Definitely would stay here again.
We LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this rental in Austin. It was extremely comfortable, very, very clean, the location is perfect for access to downtown, Rainey Street and East Austin and the private garage was a HUGE plus. From booking to checkout, this was an incredibly easy and perfect experience. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone visiting Austin!
Very cute well decorated apartment. Clean. Owner was incredibly helpful.
My husband and I rented this spot for our first trip to Austin. It was just as described, clean and comfortable. Parking garage was easy in and out. They had water bottles and snacks waiting. We usually prefer king beds but the queen in the apartment was perfect and really comfortable and we both slept well. We were able to walk to many restaurants and So. Congress was less than 10 minutes by car for more food and shopping. Really great location for us and we will definitely stay again on our next visit.
