Creekside House has an inviting, lodge-like vibe with a spacious living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a beautifully updated bathroom. A European-style heat pump/AC unit keeps the house cozy in cooler months and cool in warmer months. Two bedrooms will accommodate a total of four guests. The lovingly landscaped backyard overlooks a wooded garden and bubbling stream and features a paved patio and a fire pit.

Located in the northeast Seattle neighborhood of Bryant, Creekside House is within two miles of the University of Washington, Husky Stadium, the UW Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, I-5, the 520 Bridge, Magnuson Park, and Seattle’s premier outdoor shopping and dining mecca, University Village. The Sandpoint Metropolitan Market and View Ridge PCC Natural Market are each a five-minute walk from your door. Convenient to bus lines, you are minutes away from downtown and many Seattle attractions. The 23-mile, paved Burke-Gilman Trail is two blocks away, providing you with a biking/walking/running gateway to Seattle’s parks, lakes and neighborhoods.

About Kathleen & Doug Guthrie

We love to travel and enjoy staying at VRBO properties and 'living like locals' whenever we can. Growing up in the Midwest and Northeast, and spending our early career years in Atlanta and Los Angeles, we have called Seattle home since the mid-90s. With its combination of beautiful water and mountain vistas and a lively urban vibe, Seattle has been the perfect place to raise our two sons and grow a business.

We acquired Creekside House in part to stave off the infill housing boom in close-in Seattle neighborhoods. With its lush garden, urban stream and rare street-to-street lot, Creekside House became our hobby house - allowing us to design and craft our vision of a cozy, private urban retreat. As life-long crafters and do-it-yourselfers, we completed a good portion of the renovation work ourselves and have filled the house with one-of-a-kind touches which we hope you and others will enjoy.

Perfect house for us when we come to Seattle as it is just minutes from our family. We have stayed here numerous times, so we consider it our "home away from home!" High quality and comfortable!

The CreekSide house is beautiful and comfortable - what a find! Two cozy bedrooms, a lovely common space, an extremely well-stocked kitchen and one of the most beautiful yards ever! This place has it all.

My sisters and I recently rented this house, following my hip replacement surgery. The fact that there are only three stairs to get in was very helpful. Most of the rest of the house worked well for me too, especially the nicely remodeled bathroom. The presence of my sisters was critical, however, for getting laundry done, which is down in the basement. This may or may not work for you.

Off street parking is very handy. We didn’t have a car so we Lyfted, as needed, or walked. The neighborhood is lovely; it felt safe and quiet, with good walkability to the University and U Village. The house is on 40th, which is a through-street with some traffic noise. This level of noise is easily ignored after a bit of time. There are a couple of very nice markets, with delicious prepared foods, within a few blocks - which my sisters walked to frequently.

The owners, Kathleen and Doug, are next door. Without being intrusive, they were very responsive to our every need. We are quite grateful to them for such great accommodations.

Adorable Family Friendly Utopia

Our family fell in love with this amazing property! Perfect location for us to feel right at home. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery while drinking our morning coffee and at night playing all the different board games. Very clean and quiet neighborhood. The local markets and metro bus stops are just a few blocks away, which is very convenient when traveling with children. We highly recommend this utopia for a relaxing vacation home for families and couples. We will definitely return to this home away from home in the future.
