Cozy home with incredible views!

  • 5 of 5

This home provided a great perfect winter getaway for my family. The home is super cozy and so quaint. This little home has so much charm and the views are amazing!! We celebrated Christmas here and we had about 4" of snow to top off the wonderful experience. The house has EVERYTHING you need! We slept so well at night and enjoyed every minute of our day! Perfection!!

Beautiful Property

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful property. It is decorated and appointed as though you were staying in someone's home as a guest. It is probably nicer than the pictures can convey. It is close enough to the Plaza (about 20 minutes), yet definitely has the feel and location of being in the high desert and mountains. You can go for a hike right out the front door. Fishing is about 30 minutes away in the Pecos area. The owner was great to deal with and the immediate neighbor was a "hoot", and very nice too! We plan to stay there again and would recommend the property to friends.

RUSTIC Santa Fe

  • 3 of 5

While we enjoyed our two week stay at this home in late July 2016, having stayed at probably a dozen outstanding Santa Fe area VRBO homes over the years, this one earns a three star rating, as it could use some attention in a number of spots.

Inside - at the base of the stairs there is a sunken area in the brick floor that is filled-in by covering with two or three rugs/mats; the glass pane one one of the kitchen cabinets is cracked, as is a portion of the tile counter-top; and at least one of the kitchen drawers has an ill-functioning guide. The bathroom sports a bathtub that is quite small - so much so that I (and I'm only 6'1") couldn't fit to take a traditional bath and instead had to shower only.

Outside - the backyard deck substructure is not adequately supported and has flooring that is visibly bowed (we learned during our visit that the deck covers the septic tank system, as a sewer service person interrupted our day to do some sort of work), and the Adirondack chairs are quite wobbly and should be replaced.

It was quite hot during our visit and while the A/C unit in the master bedroom was effective, it did little to cool our friends who were using the guest room just down the hall. Fans that were provided helped a bit.

All in all the setting is quite lovely, but the house itself needs some attention. I won't be adding this home to my list of recommended rentals that I share with friends.

Owner's Response: Of the 5 VRBO homes I have over the past 4 years, all have received 100% 5 star ratings including this home which earned 5 starrs form the past ten visitors until this reviewer. The guests were allowed to bring 2 dogs which left pet hairs everywhere including sofas and we never complained and cleaned behind them. A great weekly rate was offered and much lower than the Santa Fe average priced home. We did find two wood plans ob the deck warped and had them replaced immediately. I am sure the other homes this guest stayed did not offer the same low price and accommodations. Our first 3 star rating ever in 4 years as we have always earned 5 stars.. Guess you can't please this visitor at the great weekly rate negotiated. Thanks for the commentary and hope the other guests consider that 10 of the other 11 ratings were all 5 stars and with a great price till this one.. This guest left the home in not so great shape and we still refunded their deposit in full in good faith. $142 a night for 4 adults and 2 pets in Santa Fe high season? We hope others view the other ten 5 star ratings as this is a beautiful home with a/c offered for the home with fans to cool the rest of the home. We could have assisted and shown this guest how to cool the home had they asked. Never heard a peep from them till after they checked out and left hits review.

clean and nice home

  • 5 of 5

i recently stayed here with family and it was such a nice little getaway. we were very impressed with the home, lots of room and is so peaceful. we had a group of four and had all kinds of room. it was so easy to get to town and yet you felt like you were out in the middle of nowhere. I highly recommend.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This was a paradise getaway for my family. It was accurately depicted in the pictures, and was even more magical than we had imagined! We were greeted by Michael and felt very welcome. A delicious dish of chicken enchiladas awaited us in the refrigerator, and they became our first night's dinner. We loved eating in the dining area while watching many birds feeding, not to mention the two large rabbits who also fed on the birdseed. It looked like something out of a Disney movie! The beds were sooooo comfortable; the quiet and beauty of the surrounding area lulled us to sleep, and the night sky with bright stars was incredible. The adobe home was super clean and cozy, and was very accessible to Santa Fe, which we visited for two days. We loved touring the historic city most of the day, but equally enjoyable was going home to this vacation rental at night. Thank you, Michael and Francis!

Amazing Home

  • 5 of 5

I can't rave enough on this home. We have stayed in other VBRO homes and this one by far was the best. The home has everything one could or would possibly need to cook as if you were in your own home. The view is stunning. The bird watching from the dining room window could almost make you late for whatever your doing, because you just don't realize how much time has passed while you are watching the birds. I will say that I am a big bed person and that makes or breaks a stay for me, but I have to say the beds in this home are extremely comfortable!!!! The location isn't to far from to ski, we even made the drive to snowmobile while we were there and the drive was great the scenery was fanastic as there was snow everywhere. We will certainly be back next year for the ski season. This home would also be great for a couples get a way. Thank you Francis/Michael for such a wonderful stay (the enciliadas were a hit).
