Awful heating system
First thing, the owner was unknown that we rented the house for that particular date, it was really very difficult to contact house owner. We nearly had to cancel the trip, but fortunately we were able to contact her at the last moment.
When we reached there, The cabin was amazing, but the bed in rooms were not set up, the mattress were not covered with sheets, we fixed that ourselves, also we got some of the sheets and pillow covers from dryer..
Heating system was awful, the house was freezing cold, but luckily there were some portable heater.
Water heater was also not working, the water was freezing cold and we followed every direction to make water heater worked but it didn’t. We had to use that freezing cold water in freezing weather. It was really hard time for us.. we tried to contact the owner but she never responded.
We appreciate this review however there are some concerns with how your stay was portrayed. Your booking was very rushed with little time to prepare considering it is a winter cabin in the mountains. The instructions for heating and water are very simple we have had no problems with set up by any guest in the past. We were not contacted for help with these issues at the time. All these are working and have been. We do apologize for unsatisfactory stay however we do hope you enjoy the mountains again sometime.

Not what we expected
Complete disappointment. The cabin was dirty w/dog pee stains on carpet that hadn’t even been wiped up. Used the W/D to wash kitchen towels and when we went to empty dryer vent - it was full of cat litter! We stayed one hour as we packed back up and headed home to Chico. End to a well planned vacay came the minute we walked in the door. Good luck w/this one.
This review is not valid. I left the cabin on Tuesday before their arrival. The cabin did not smell and never has. There were not pee stains on the carpet, although the carpet from the kitchen to the hall was not spotless clean. We have since cleaned this carpet. As for Cat litter in the dryer vent, there has never been a cat box in the cabin, so what she discovered in the vent is beyond me. Who inspects the dryer vent ? I believe they had some other agenda and did not want to stay in the cabin. I was threatened with a law suit if I did not return all of her money. Strange actions, considering the cabin was spotless clean and did not smell. Jo Ann Perkins
Rustic cabin in spectacular location
We had a great time staying at the cabin for a winter get away. Close to a great snow sledding hill for the kids, and easy access to Lassen national park!
Beautiful views from the living room. Cozy accommodations.
