About Jacquie C. Walker

I am from Bucks VCounty, Pennsylvania where I ran one of the most successful B & B's in the area. So I have lots of exoerience in providing wonderful lodging for guests who are on holiday and want to have a great time.

It is my goal to provide beautiful Mexican style accommodations for our guests and to insure that they are comfortable and pleased with the accommodation. We want our guests to 'feel at home' and to have a delightful experience while in this magical place, San Miguel de Allende.

Jacquie C. Walker purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Jacquie C. Walker chose San Miguel de Allende

I chose this property because of the great location and because the casitas are lare, roomy and well decorated. And the neighborhood is safe.

What makes this apartment unique

I stayed in a place in San Miguel in 2012 and I loved t. Then I moved here and found this property and decided to buy it because it was exactly like the one I stayed in , only better.

Had a great month long stay and Pepe and Jacquie were available for questions that came up. Has convenient laundry, good internet access and Gabriella, the housekeeper was wonderful😊 Great restaurants in walking distance as well as shopping! Full kitchen and comfortable sleeping arrangements!

Good Location; In Your Face Owner

  • 1 of 5

Clean, convenient street level apt but BEWARE. Owner quick to make untrue accusations via VRBO email communication. She blamed us for plumbing malfunctions resulting in no water for the upstairs rental and that the plumbing bill would be charged against our refund. (According to upstairs renters we did 5-6 loads of laundry the morning of the "no water" problem when in fact we had done 1 load the day before and run the dryer for an hour and fifteen minutes the following morning at 8 AM.) In order to straighten this out I had to call owner with the facts at which time the owner told me that 8 AM was too early to dry clothes! After hearing me out, she admitted to having taken the upstair renter exaggerations as facts. An unpleasant interruption to our vacation and a delayed (full) refund. Would not rent there again.

Owner's Response: I am very sorry that this guest took my inquiry about the complete loss of water in the apartments as blaming her. The tenants above her reported to me that they heard them doing laundry at 6AM and that the laundry was continuous until noon time and thought that was why the building was out of water......so, of course I asked her about it. Not accusing her at all, but telling them what the tenants told me. I did not tell her that I took the upstairs tenants accusations as facts but told her that they heard all the noise from the machines. I told her that the laundry facilities are for doing some light laundry and not 5-6 loads. The guests upstairs had just arrived the day before so i kew they had no laundry to do, but the guests downstairs had been there for a week..... ( Why would the guests upstairs make up story?)I took her word for it when she denied doing that much laundry and that was the end of it. Running the dryer and the washing machine at 8AM is too early for a vacation rental building as other tenants can hear all the noise from the machines)This was a serious situation as there was no water pressure in the building and in Mexico there are water storage tanks, that apparently went dry, which could happen if someone was doing 5-6 loads of laundry at one time. As to her security deposit, it was returned at 10 days. If it took longer, it was because it had to go through VRBO, back into her charge card....which is something I have no control over. We try our very best to work with guests if there is a problem. No water in our building is a serious situation and I was acting on what the tenants on the second floor(the apartment directly above this guest) reported to me. I was very congenial towards this guest, and complimented her on the excellent way she left the apartment. It is unfortunate that she could not understand or accept the reason why I was contacting her about the situation......I think an inquiry about another guest's comments is hardly a big interruption and a one star rating. Please refer to all the other 4-5 star ratings and be advised that on AirBnB I am rated as a Super Host.

Great location in El Centro

  • 4 of 5

This is a spacious well-appointed casita within walking distance to everything in El Centro, just a couple of blocks from the Biblioteca. It occupies the ground floor of a three story home, with access to a pleasant third floor patio via outdoor spiral stairs, a nice place to have a glass of wine and enjoy the sunshine and city views. In December a few mornings were a little cool (45 deg) and we found that both the wall mounted gas heater and plug-in electric heater were more than adequate in keeping the place as warm as we liked. The gas fireplace worked though intermittently; it would turn itself off after several minutes, then later go back on again, etc, so we didn't use it much. The home itself was very peaceful and quiet, except for one night when neighbor was pounding on something (a pipe?) till 11pm (the casita's owner is blameless here, nothing to be done but wait till the neighbor was through....). Twice weekly maid service was impeccable.

Jacquie was a tremendous help in tracking down hearing aids I left behind, and going the extra mile to find a way to mail them back to me. For this I am very appreciative!

Close-by restauants we enjoyed were Los Milagros on Relox (good Mexican food), the Buenos Aires Bistro on Mesones (great food, good prices), and Cafe Santa Ana at the Biblioteca (very close, good food, good prices).

I would certainly return here.

We couldn't of been happy with the location of this Casita.

We walked everywhere easily! Many choices of restaurants within blocks.

Jacquie, the owner was helpful and the place was top quality!

Gabriella, the maid, was very thorough and the place was clean to our liking.

San Miguel de Allende should be on everyones to go list!

My home was perfect for me. My hostess provided everything to make the casita beautiful and very comfortable. The fact that it was close to the Centro was a big part of the fun. It was the very best place to stay and appreciate San Miguel Allende'

Lovely casita in the perfect location

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay in the beautiful city of SMA! It is within walking distance of everything from La Fabrica to el Centro. It is far enough away from the middle of town so noise is never a problem.

Juan's is a great place to have breakfast that is just down the street.

We would highly recommend this place and Jacquie makes sure that all of your needs are met.
