Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you John and Karla for sharing your house with us. Alan and I rented your sweet Rock House so my mother Carol, Our son Alex. his wife Ashley and their son Jaxton, could celebrate Alex earning his Doctorate in Biochemistry from Utah State. It was a perfect place for all of us. Mendon is a beautiful peaceful place. Karla thank you for the warm homemade bread and jam it was delicious. Many happy memories were made and I would like to invite you to my Facebook page to see the pictures. https://www.facebook.com/mendoncottage Thank you... Kim

Wonderful cottage

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have traveled to the Cache Valley many times this last year and have always stayed in hotels. This time we could not find our normal acccomodations so I broadened my seach and stumbled upon John and Karla's beautiful pioneer home. We could not have been more pleased. Communication was easy and clear, the house immaculate yet warm and inviting. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us, it made this visit the best one yet. Sincerely.

Beautiful, comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

I spent a lovely 4 days here with my wife and two children. The house was perfect for our needs. The house has been beautifully restored with great attention to detail (the woodwork, especially where the wood met the rock walls, was particularly impressive to me). It had all the modern conveniences, and everything worked fine. The house sits on a huge lot with massive shade trees. It is a very short walk to the library and park. There are hiking trails nearby in the Wellsville mountains, though these are quite steep. We spent most of our time exploring Logan Canyon, where we saw beaver dams galore, incredible wildflower displays, and a huge bull moose. Highly recommended, and we hope to return. My only gripe is that the beds were too soft for my taste.

Quiet & cozy retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is a very interesting little cottage. Tons of history and a beautiful setting make for a great place to stay while in the Cache Valley. A colleague and I stayed while attending a conference in Logan that had filled every hotel room. The cottage in Mendon was a perfect place to be close to the show while also giving us a place to unplug. The adjacent stream provides the perfect background noise to make you feel like you are really away in the mountains.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

The Mendon Rock Cottage IS the place to stay. Not just because of it's cuteness n history, but because its has everything you need. Including the best of hosts. John and Karla are amazingly wonderful people who have opened this home to complete strangers with outstanding grace.

There really is no reason to look any further for a place to stay.

Thank you John and Karla
