We come to Jekyll to attend the Blue Grass Festival, bike, golf and watch bowl games. The weather did not allow us to be outside much at all. We were not able to watch the bowl games because the property does not have ESPN and we were very disappointed. The property itself was in need of major repairs. The roof on the carport leaks and the gutters on the screen porch over flowed. The kitchen utensils need to be replaced. The pans were in bad condition. Light poured in around the exterior doors. The window sills had dirt and dead bugs on them. Went to use a blanket in the closet and it smelled awful so I washed it. This place might well have been nice years ago, but has not been maintained.
Our stay on Jekyll was wonderful as usual. We love it there and we always use Jekyll Realty to rent a house of the week. The house worked great for us. However upon arrival we found the blender to be broken and also the toaster. They were quickly replaced. Thanks.
Agreed with the review from April. Outside very weathered. Not much pride has been taken in this rental. The air vents and general cleanliness of this house was not great. Lots of stains on the carpet. Interior of the house could use fresh paint. Appreciated the updated kitchen and main bathroom. It just wasn't very welcoming. I would not recommend this rental and I am not that picky of a person.

Everything went well.
Pros: Awesome floor plan with the split ranch-2 baths-open concept- walking distance to beach access has all the conveniences of home. Bathroom and kitchens, floors clean. Lots of space for a big family or even two families to share this one. Front porch rockers nice. WI FI worked really well for my boys, big plus!
Cons: paid $160 a night With a $60 credit of cleaning fee after I shared the cons with Jeckyl Reality.
More pride could be taken in this rental.
Exterior of home weathered not maintained has peeling paint faded sign rusted outdoor table and chair, dirty faded rugs, windows and screened in porch dusty/dirty/pollen/green.Inside needs a deep clean. Tops of curtains and light fixtures covered with thick dust. Curtain in dining room patio door dirty with mold growth along bottom. Master bedroom carpet has several stains and the mattress is awful! Very uncomfortable sags in the middle! Felt tired all week from uncomfortable beds.I'm not sure about the cleaning of HVAC filters but we all developed a coug

I've been coming to Jekyll since 1962, and have rented many properties on the island. Upon entering the building I noticed an odd sort of stuffy smell but the weather was relatively warm that day, so I opened the patio doors and aired things out. But the weather quickly changed to colder conditions. Starting the first night we ran the heating system, my son and I both experienced sore throats while sleeping overnight. By the second day my voice had dropped an octave. I finally investigated the HVAC system and discovered that most of the inside of the utility closet was coated with thick, dark colored dust. Several of the ceiling vents also showed signs of discoloration and dust as well. As soon as the temperature permitted, we stopped running the HVAC system at all and opened the windows to air out the house. We spent our last two days on the island outside of the house as much as possible, but by the time we had packed up and headed for home, all of us were fighting lung congestion and I was borderline walking pneumonia. I mentioned this to the staff at Jekyll Realty and received little more than a shrug and 'we will let the owner know'. This response was completely inappropriate. I've spoken with many seasonal renters over my years on the island and it's pretty common to hear complaints about the realtors doing the minimum amount of housekeeping and maintenance. This experience takes the cake. There were other issues. The furniture was pretty beat up, marks on the walls, one of the TVs would only display in black and white. Next time I'll either rent directly from a property owner or stay at the Day's Inn.
