A great house with a great view!
After a week of mostly bad weather, the house provided plenty of comfort and distractions while we waited out the storms. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, the entertainment options were extensive and the teens loved all the choices. Plenty of amenities and sleeping options to accommodate all of our crew. Great sunsets every night from the upper deck and many separate areas of the house to chill in solitude . If you are boating, be sure to watch the bay at low tide, there are not many routes to take out to the Gulf without losing a prop (which I did!).
We had a great time. I will definitely rent this again in the future. So much space for everyone to do their ting. We brought our boat and were able to park it right out back. Lots of fishing and wildlife and beautiful sunsets.
Kids and adults loved the activities room!
Beautiful sun sets every night. Plenty of room for a large group of friends or family to congregate in the activities room, or upstairs on the covered porch. We had dolphins and manatees swimming at the dock! Nice restaurants near by, but we didn't get a chance to get to all of them because we made dinners in the fully equipped kitchen and our fresh catch from the gulf. Short drive to many great destinations. Brenda was great to deal with when we got there. The locals were accommodating to our family and friends.
Great house , bad service
The house itself was big and wonderful. Especially loved the massive balcony, the sunsets from the balcony and the large kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the games room was incredible .
However , we had 2 issues with the Property Manager during our stay
1) they advertised that the property had a private floating dock where you could keep your boat. There was a photo of the boat and it was also specifically mentioned in the description. We trailered our boat 1,500 Miles only to discover that wasn’t true. The floating dock had been gone years ago but the listing was never updated. I had to get a slip at the local marina . I had to call and message the property manager multiple times to get a refund on boat slip at the marina. Such a pain
2) we arrived and for the first 24 hours we couldn’t get into the wifi . (I need to work using wifi during my vacation ). It turns out they changed the password but didn’t update the VRBO listing and didn’t inform me despite inquiring for multiple days
I understand things change ie wifi password and docks get removed but these problems didn’t get resolved until 1/2 way through our vacation . The Proeprty Manager was slow to respond to my phone messages , emails and texts. I even had problems with getting answers from the Proeprty Manager before we arrived. Had to send multiple messages to get 1 simple answer.
Also to note... if you want a beach, you won’t find a decent one near Hudson. The closest one is a man-made beach that’s the size of a football field ( at best) And crowded.
We will not be back.
The guest forgot to mention the slip she rented at the local Marina was reimbursed 100% by the property owner and the guest was never charged.
This house was the PERFECT place for our multi generation family. Tons of room and the views are great. The bikes in the garage were a nice touch. VERY kid friendly! Our son saw a manatee while kayaking. The tiki bar was a great spot within walking distance. Not to mention the ice cream shop.......
Party house but only 3 BR. Not luxury but could be. Very outdated. Not worth the money.
Have photos of dirt and mold but can not upload. Oven did not work well. Needs to be replaced. Did not cook food, barely could warm! Very old, like the TV’s. Only one, working current generation TV. MOLD in bathroom showers and around toilets is not acceptable. Burned out lights inside and out. Property needs some TLC and deep cleaning. All those 5 star reviews must have been old.........like the furniture. Lots of games, space, and good views. Master is only bedroom with privacy. Other 2 bedrooms each have 2 queens and kings with no real privacy. Glass door in between would not lock. Only for kids or parents with their kids. Understand this property and everything in it is OLD but could be updated and nice. Ants invaded kitchen. The list is endless. Meets owner’s standards based on our communications. Renter Beware.
