My house is on a very private half acre with a fully fenced backyard. Mature trees surround the property and provide shade in the summer and attract many kinds of birds in every season. This rental is for the entire house which is bright and very clean, sleeping 5 comfortably.
The main floor has lovely hardwood floors thrioughout except in the master bedroom where there is new carpet. The kitchen has just been completely renovated; new floor, pot lights, a light tunnel in ceiling, new cabinets, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. It is well stocked with all the cooking utensils and basic cooking supplies you might need. The original coved ceilings and heavy plaster walls add to the character. The newly painted living room and dining room are open and L shaped with a very warm and efficient natural gas fireplace in the living room and a beautiful Shaker style table that seats up to 8 comfortably in the dining room.
Access to the large secluded deck is through sliding glass doors off the dining room. In the summer you'll find comfortable deck furniture including 6 chairs, a table that seats 6, 3 large sunshades, an umbrella and hammock as well as a natural gas barbecue that can be used all year in Victoria!
There is a queen bed in the master bedroom with an en suite bathroom (sink and toilet) off. The office/ third bedroom has a new, comfortable queen sofa bed and the second upstairs bedroom has a very comfortable double bed. The main bath with combo bath and shower has a lovely heated tile floor.
A bright sun room faces the fenced backyard off the kitchen. I have wireless internet, 2 DVD players, 2 tvs, 2 PVRs, a Logitech docking station and a piano for anyone who plays. There is one covered parking spot and lots of room in the recently paved driveway for a second vehicle. A front load washing machine and dryer, a playroom for children and lots of room for storage are downstairs.
I hope you'll enjoy staying in my quiet, comfortable, clean home as you enjoy all Victoria has to offer!
I bought this home because I love the semi rural aspect of Cordova Bay. It is also a quick drive to shops, restaurants, etc. and to beautiful downtown Victoria. Properties in my neighbourhood are large providing lots of privacy between homes. The lake is on one side and the ocean on the other, great for walking and biking.
My home is clean, private, cosy and affordable in a safe neighbourhood. The lovely oak floors, wood framed windows and coved ceilings provide character. I love gardening and keep my property looking attractive throughout the seasons.
Could not have asked for a better place. We were in town for my daughter's wedding and it was the perfect home away from home for this. Upon our arrival Carol had left us a bottle of wine and chilled glasses in the fridge to toast the bride and groom, this was above and beyond anything we could ever expect. The house itself was beautiful and spotless.. The large deck and spacious backyard were awesome for when the family came over for bbq get togethers. I could go on and on ... I would definitely recommend this home to anyone traveling to Victoria and hope to stay there again myself. Thank you so much Carol, I appreciate you allowing us to use your home. We had a wonderful time!
I am so happy we rented this home! Carol was a pleasure to deal with and the property was beautiful and clean. We had home made granola and a welcome package waiting for us when we arrived! Carol has done a very nice job of putting together some info of the best and some unknown tourist spots to visit while you stay at the property. She even asked how old my kids were and put together some suggestions for activities we could do as a family.
As for the property itself it was wonderful! As a family of four we had plenty of room. Each boy had his own room and my wife and I had a very spacious bedroom with our own bathroom.
The kitchen is modern with all the fixings of home. I personally loved the bar stools and breakfast counter where I ate Bhagat every
This home is awesome! We stayed here for 4 nights to attend Victoria Ironman 70.3 at Beaver Lake. Carol was very responsive to my messages and quick to follow up. The home was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The location was ideal for our purposes and comfortably fit 4 adults and 2 children. Everything was easy to find and Carol had towels set out for us along with a fantastic book full of information on the area. There were toys and books for the kids as well as a large selection of books for grownups.
The yard is well maintained and we enjoyed seeing the bunnies and hoards of hummingbirds every day. Grocery stores and other shopping was close and it is a quick trip to downtown Victoria or the Sidney ferry terminal. Carol even made homemade granola that I enjoyed every day of our stay. We spent many hours on the patio and used the grill to make dinner. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling in the area. We will be back again and I am hopeful Carol's home is available for our next trip because I would not want to stay anywhere else.
We can't say enough about our recent stay at Carol's lovely home in Cordova Bay. Our family of four was more than comfortable, and our wonderful hostess even went so far as to pull out some fantastic toys for our toddler to play with!
We were attending a 3-day swim meet at Commonwealth Pool and this location was ideal - minimal driving back and forth daily and we had all the comforts of home. Prices were very reasonable, the beds were comfortable, and the homemade granola DIVINE. Wait until you peruse her amazing book collection.
We drove into downtown Victoria one day and it was a hassle-free drive of only about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.
Thanks for a great stay, we will definitely be back!
All the way from the UK our entire family comprising mum, dad and three grown up children, 24, 20 & 18 were very comfortably accommodated here at this fabulous house. Situated close to the main access route into Victoria and the beach. Local amenities also within easy reach. On arrival we were greeted by a welcome note from Carol and a number of useful basic provisions including some wonderful home-made granola! During our stay we made full use of all of the areas particularly the external sun deck which offered early morning sun and shade in the heat of the day. Great gas BBQ and the boys enjoyed using the hammock. Mum enjoyed sitting out in the garden under the trees with the rabits and birds for company. A true home from home. Without hesitation, if we ever came back to Vancouver Island, it would be at Carol's we would stay.
Carol is a wonderful hostess! She welcomed our family of five to her home and we were very comfortable during our stay. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need. She left coffee beans for my husband's morning caffeine fix and her fantastic muesli for all of us to enjoy.
The house is spotless. The back deck was a wonderful place to begin and end our days. The hammock was a treat and there was much competition on who used it next.
We really enjoyed seeing the local wildlife.....deer, hummingbirds and bunnies.
What originally attracted us to this property was that everything is all on the same level. We were traveling with Grandma who has difficulty with stairs.
The backyard is very large and fenced in which allowed the children to run off their excess energy safely. Outdoor sports equipment was also provided.
Carol really went above and beyond as her washing machine broke and she arranged for a replacement to be delivered just hours before our arrival. As this was our first VRBO experience, I expect that Carol set the gold standard by which all other rentals will be judged.
This is a lovely property, owned by a very gracious lady.
This home is in a fabulous location; Cordova Bay which is about a 15 minute drive to downtown Victoria and the same to Sidney and the ferries. Butcharts Gardens is a short drive away. Broadmead shopping center, with a Thriftys grocery store, liquor store, Canadian Tire, Pharmasave, Starbucks, a Romeo's Pizza and an excellent Thai restaurant, is less than 10 minutes away. Many fabulous, and mostly organic, farms as well as wineries are both a short drive away. We are a 3 minute walk to Elk Lake which has a fabulous forested and shaded 10 km walking/ running trail, playgrounds and beaches for swimming. This is also where Canada's mens rowing teams trains. The ocean, a world class 18 hole golf course, a Par 3 golf course with a view across to Mount Baker and a small market grocery store, VQA wine store and many small shops featuring local products and services are about a 15 minute walk down the ridge to the east. One of our favourite things to do is to walk down to the newly renovated restaurant, The Beach House, right on the ocean for a glass of wine at sundown. The Saanich Commonwealth Place with a fully equipped weight room, a huge swimming pool with a wave pool, shallow tot pool and dive tank, lots of drop in classes and a public library is 5 minutes away
Biking enthusiasts will love riding on the Galloping Goose Trail, a dedicated biking and walking path, which is about an 8 minute ride from our house. It was established from a reclaimed railroad bed that goes downtown, out the peninsula or heads up the west coast of the island at a gentle elevation children can manage as well.
Our city, Victoria, British Columbia is a top tourist destination on the southernmost tip of Vancouver Island. Victoria and the surrounding areas have many diverse activities and sights; golfing, whale watching, garden tours, salmon fishing, hiking, shopping, visiting our beaches and parks, biking, boating, etc. Downtown there are many wonderful restaurants, heritage buildings, shops, the Royal B.C. Museum, street performers, the legislative buildings and more. You can drive up island for a day of beachcombing, wine tasting, swimming or hiking. If you'd like to explore a bit further you can take a ferries to the Gulf Islands, to Vancouver and then on to Whistler or to Washington State, USA.
