Great Place to stay
We loved staying at this apartment for our month in Rome and were very happy to have found it. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat if the opportunity ever came up. Was it perfect? No, but what is? I'm surprised by all the 5-star reviews, but I guess some people are just generous that way.
I feel awkward criticizing the place because the overall experience was great, but I feel I should mention a few things so that... a) they might get fixed, or b) you'll be prepared.
The amenities listed in the ad includes a microwave oven. There was no microwave oven. The washer/dryer was only a washer. The drying cycle didn't work. This was pointed out to us as were the racks available for drying clothes, which worked fine, not a real problem. The windows were pretty drafty, probably not a problem in warmer months but we were there in the winter. The hot water was not consistent, especially in the kitchen.
Also, there are a lot of mineral deposits in Rome's hard water. That's totally fine but it means the faucets with little aerator holes get clogged frequently and need to be cleaned out now and then. The result here was that the shower and the kitchen faucet sprayed all over the place (easily fixed but I had no tools).
The internet connection was also inconsistent. Sometimes it was strong, sometimes very slow. And I sure wish there were two sets of keys. We don't always do everything together so we always had to figure out who carried the keys and therefore had to get back to the apartment first.
Again, I feel funny making these criticisms of the place since we enjoyed it immensely and have very fond memories of our stay there. All of those things listed were relatively easy to live with and adjust to. We are realistic travelers and don't expect perfection. And there were so many great features to the place. The location was fabulous and the apartment felt spacious and comfortable. Emma and her husband were very attentive and even arranged for a ride to and from the airport.
So I wholly recommend the place if you get a chance to come to The Eternal City. Safe travels!
Truly a Home Away!!
From the first moment stepping into the apartment, and hearing Emma tell us about its history (ancient!!), it felt a bit magical. She also took care of some WIFI nits in a quick and efficient manner, and checked on us to ensure that everything was going well. And every evening we sat in the living room talking about how wonderful the surroundings were - so vibrant and alive. That did cause a slight problem as on Friday night the locals were a bit louder longer than we would have preferred - but that's the cost of being in the middle of things. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and I hope it is available should we make it back to Rome!
Great Location, Comfortable Home, Wonderful Hospitality
We walked from our home here everywhere in Rome. It seemed like we were in the middle of everything we needed to get to from here, while being able to unwind and getaway. The home had everything we needed. The portable wifi came in very helpful so we could use our phones to help within the city. Sandra was excellent she let us drop our luggage off early before check-in since our flight landed so early. She had a list of recommended restaurants. We found a wonderful home here for our stay in Rome!!
We absolutely loved this little flat in the Trastevere area. Perfect location, great character, quiet, clean. Emma was wonderful and welcoming. My husband and I agreed that we could retire in this flat, its that fabulous. One of the pluses is that it has a portable wifi unit that you can take with you during the day! Great for us since we didn't have phone service. However, with the wifi device the 4 of us could communicate with each other with our iphones! And use it for mapping our day if necessary. If I had one complaint, it would be that the AC unit is in the bedroom. It was hot in Rome when we were there so we had to keep the door open so our kids didn't bake in the living room. Otherwise, it was awesome. Thank you Emma!!
Great location in Trastevere/Roma
Emma (owner) was very helpful and responsive, making check-in and check-out very easy and convenient. The flat is spacious for a couple and has a well equipped kitchen. The location is absolutely fantastic. You're able to literally walk anywhere within the old city within 30 minutes. The neighborhood is quite active, lots of restaurants and bars, with quick access to the Tram, bus stop and Taxi stand. It's a short walk to the River Tiber, and if you follow the river, it takes you almost anywhere in the city. The flat is clean, and generally well-maintained, but could use some upgrades. The one major downside is if visiting during the summer, there is only air-conditioning in the bedroom, so the rest of the apartment can get quite warm in the middle of the day.
Great location, comfortable, reasonable size and price with friendly owner.
Comfortable apartment with good facilities but washing machine had issue and bathroom floor kept leaking with water after having showers. Pocket Mobile Wifi offer was a great device to use whilst exploring Rome.
