Lovely B&B with a fabulous host
We stayed at this beautifully decorated B&B for 4 nights. Ghislaine was not only a great host giving us lots of good advise for travels in the region but also a very good cook. Our breakfasts were served on the patio as were the delicious dinners that we enjoyed there. Our room and bathroom where well appointed and very roomy. We would certainly stay there again.
Merci à tous deux pour cette belle appréciation,j'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir à vous recevoir et si vous revenez en France ce sera pour moi une joie de vous revoir.Amicalement. Ghislaine
We had the most amazing time staying at this bit of paradise in Caumont sur-Durance. Ghislaine truly is a gracious hostess. All other reviewers are spot on. The house and grounds are beautiful and her breakfast of pastries, fruit and made to order farm fresh eggs from her chickens was just delightful. She has wonderful suggestions and recommendations on places to visit and where to eat. Or just relax by the pool and enjoy the gardens. We were so sad to leave and can’t wait to come back!
Thank you Lindsay for the beautiful appreciation, best's regards.Ghislaine
Paradise with a capital P!
Having read previous reviews I already had high expectations for this stay and it far surpassed them. Ghislaine is a wonderful hostess who will do everything she can to make your visit perfect.
We took advantage of her nightly meals for 5 straight nights. Every single meal was completely different including all of the appetizers and the wonderfully flavourful and creative aperitifs. Eating a wonderful meal on her beautiful terrace was far better than heading out to a restaurant. My wife is celiac and Ghislaine went to extraordinary lengths to prepare gluten free meals and provide wonderful gluten free bread for breakfast and dinner.
Her breakfast varied daily but always included her homemade yogurt and preserves. Eggs from her own chickens were a treat and I particularly appreciated the fresh figs off the tree.
All of her meals were regional specialities.
The rooms were comfortable, her home was beautiful, and everything was immaculate and clean. The surrounding gardens were stunning and carefully tended by her son Christoff.
Apart from the roaming chickens there is a small collection of cats and a delightful Yorkie(Elliot) to keep you company on the terrace.
One thing we weren’t fully aware of re the Rhone in the summer are the mosquitoes. They seem particularly aggressive so make sure you pack some high grade insect repellent!
The area is seems limitless with things to do and see. We did as much as we could in our four days and left a lot of big sites on the cutting room floor even though we never stopped for lunch or a snack. The breakfast makes eating until dinner unnecessary!
The Luberon, Gigondas, Chateauneuf-de-Pape, Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Avignon, Vaison-la-Romaine were all magical.
If we have the opportunity to return to the area we will be sure to return here and I would urge anyone visiting the area to give strong consideration to staying here. I can promise you will not regret your choice.
Ghislaine
Charming converted farmhouse set in large well manicured gardens with a very inviting swimming pool. A truly delightful property. Ghislaine was very welcoming and prepared magnificent meals served in the magical garden setting. We wanted to take her home wth us. Ghislaine also suggested local itineraries for us. We cannot speak highly enough of Ghislaine, her property, her cooking, her helpfulness.
Thank you Rick for the very nice appreciation.
A wonderful week in Provence
We spent a week as guests of Ghislaine, the hostess, at Caumont-sur-Durance. It was a truly wonderful experience. Ghislaine was warm and welcoming. Each day she gave us a itenerary of places to visit in Provence and at night she cooked specialities of Provence for our dinner, starting with us sharing an aperative with her. The meal consisted of 4 courses and wine for a very reasonable price. Her cooking was some of the best we have had in France and as a result we ate in 5 of the 7 nights. We were able to eat breakfast and dinner outside on the patio. The house was beautifully decorated in tradition style and it was a pleasure to relax in the well maintained garden and swim in the pool. We were sad to leave. We would highly recommend it
Thank you Suzanne and Collins for the very beautiful appreciation.Best regard's.Ghislaine
Gorgeous home and very gracious hostess.
The gardens are like an arboretum. Ghislaine is lovely and an amazing cook. Her breakfasts are an amazing event with compotes from her garden, eggs from her chickens, flaky croissants . . . She gave us tips for our daily adventures and oh my! The Luberon is so picturesque. We will be back!
Thank you Anne Marie and Barry for the beautiful " commentaire"
Best regards. Ghislaine
