Welcome to 201 Laurel. Located in the beautiful Hound Ears club and exclusive golf and country club community. This property is tucked into a lovely boulder and rocky outcrop which allows for complete privacy. This property has been completely renovated. It has central heat and air and a fireplace. It offers comfortable living conditions. This chalet has exposed beams and cathedral ceilings. It also has new stainless steel appliances, stone back splash, and hardwood floors. The bathrooms are newly remodeled as well. The master bath includes tile shower with pebble floor new vanity and commode. The second bathroom has a new vanity and commode and tile floors. Another great aspect of this property is that it is so large there is another chalet on the property . So if you have a few more people that want to join the getaway you can all stay on the same property. So check out 203 Laurel as well.
This is a great house for a couple or small family. It's in a great location, close to Boone, Valle Crucis and Blowing Rock. Hound Ears is a wonderful gated neighborhood that is very quiet and lots of good walking streets and views of Grandfather Mountain. The house was just perfect for my husband, dog and I.
As an older couple with a small dog, we were not excited about entering the property by way of the spiral staircase. Once inside, we found the washing machine and the dryer full with damp & smelly bedding and towels. The towels in the master bedroom smelled like they had also sat in the washer and/or dryer for a long period of time. The bed in the master bedroom needs to be replaced - woke up each morning with a sore back. Upon arriving we also found a foul odor coming from the kitchen sink and there was water backed up inside the empty dishwasher. The fireplace is positioned strangely in its' location. After several days we finally figured out how to use the additional heating (no instructions on the refrigerator). There were no steak knives nor was there any aluminum foil, plastic wrap or leftover containers. I guess we've been spoiled in the past at other vacation rentals in the Boone area. It always felt like you were either walking uphill or downhill inside. We were interrupted the day before our departure by the cleaning man as his instructions showed that we were to be leaving that morning! We assured him we had one more day. We were never informed that there was construction going on at the entrance to Hounds Ear which meant there was a Detour in and out of the community (which takes you about 20 minutes out of your way, just to get anywhere). The Guards were wonderful:-)
We hoped to hit the weekend just right for fall leaves and couldn't have been luckier....but not only were the leaves and weather beautiful, the chalet type home on Laurel was comfy, had all necessities and was full of light. This was a real treat; with so many windows we were immersed in the colors of fall. Thanks for a great weekend!
We had a great experience at this home. It was clean, updated, and in great condition. The location is excellent as it is convenient to most high country towns including Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis etc. The property is private even though there is a similar home just up behind it. The size of the house was perfect for four adults. The parking area is small for two properties (we also traveled in two cars) but there is an additional parking area just down the hill from the house as well. It was nice being able to bring our dog along as it is not often that we can travel with her. Hound Ears is beautiful with stunning views of Grandfather Mountain throughout the property. We would certainly stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay. The location in Hounds Ear resort is easy to visit the nearby villages and hiking trails. Our hosts were very helpful and made us feel welcome. The chalet is quiet and private -a cute place.
We recommend this chalet.
My husband and I just spent our wedding anniversary and his birthday in the beautiful mountains of NC. We were so pleased with the home we rented at Hound Ears, NC. We had everything we needed. The owners of the house were wonderful to deal with in all ways. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you, and we look forward to staying there again. We would recommend this property to others for sure!!!!
