Why Lorna Mouton Riff chose Palm Desert
I fell into the spell of the Monterey Country Club's calming and resort-like atmosphere. The views from the Durango property are stunning; beautiful fairway views, western mountains and sunrise/sunset views attracted me to this property. My home is designed to be a retreat from the hustle and bustle of a busy city. The furnishings, artwork, accessories and outdoor spaces evoke a sense of being at a retreat and surrounded by beautiful things and nature; Aloha at it's best. It is my hope that guests will be inspired and find relaxation in the home I have created.
What makes this Condo unique
Sunrise on the rear patio should not be missed. As the sun rises in the east behind the golf course water fountain, the water sparkles with all the prisms of color reflecting everywhere. Meanwhile, hummingbirds visit the flowers blooming on the patio hedge. The private entry patio area was designed as an extension of the interior space as an outdoor living room. It is the perfect place to sit, enjoy meals and relax in the evenings while listening to the sound of the water fountains, or entertain guests.

"a piece of paradise in Palm Desert"!!!
We didn't want to leave this lovely condo. The pictures are accurate and show how inviting this home away from home is. The beds and linens are comfortable. We really liked the outdoor living spaces. The kitchen was well stocked with some spices and condiments and coffee. It was nice to overlook the golf green space and the fountain in the background. The pools were close by. Monterey is located close to lots of restaurants and shopping areas. Lorna was great to deal with and easy to reach whenever necessary. We hope to return next year if not before. Thanks so much. Excellent condo - Good value
We enjoyed our stay in Lorna's Durango condo in the Monterey Country Club. Great location with easy access to everything in the Valley. The Monterey grounds and golf course are beautiful and immaculately maintained. Unfortunately access to the golf course is restricted to members only but I did find a member to go out with so enjoyed that. Access to the tennis, fitness, etc is $15.00 / day.
The condo has been renovated and the new bathrooms and living areas are very well done. Decorating is tasteful. Nice dining suite for 6. The living room furniture, while not new, is very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked. The south-facing patio looking over the golf course is very nice with good furnishings, including 2 lounges. It was nice to have a garage. Very safe and quiet area.
The owner, Lorna, is very easy to contact, responsive, friendly and helpful. We would recommend the condo and we would return in the future. It is good value for the money.

MCC condo across from t-box
On arrival to Lorna’s condo we were very impressed with the outside surroundings especially the golf course, as golfers that is why we choose Palm Springs area. Sun n golf. It’s beautiful but it’s a private course that we didn’t get a chance to play. We stayed in Lorna’s condo for 35 nights and the course never looked overly busy😟� Her condo was well stocked, and we liked the location . She could use new fry pans, and new outdoor furniture covers. The countertops are outdated and hardly sanitary. The bed, linens, towels were good, but the carpets in both bedrooms were badly stained. I cover the stains with throw rugs as I couldn’t stand to see them on a daily bases. We would stay at MCC again if they had a golf package comparable to others and reasonable for tenants. Thank you Lorna, you always sounded like a nice lady.
Thank you for your comments. I am sorry you felt there were issues with the condo. I take great pride in my guests having a positive experience and strive to resolve any issues as quickly as possible. I did not realize the carpet stains had worsened since I was there last. I wish you had explained in more detail as I would have arranged for them to be specially cleaned. In fact, the next guests described the issue and I took care of it immediately. The kitchen counter tile and grout was deep-cleaned by the cleaning service the day before you arrived. Again, if you had said something, I would have had the service return to clean it again if you felt it was unsanitary.
Insofar as the golfing on the MCC course, I don't have any sway over the club's fees for guests. Since there are many public courses in the area, I hope you were able to enjoy them.

My husband and I are just completing our second year renting Lorna's condo for a 3-month stay...and we will be back again in 2018! We feel so fortunate to have found this lovely property. It's every bit as nice as the photos, and is the best equipped vacation rental we have ever found. The beds are both super comfy as is the large sectional...perfect for curling up with a book or to watch a movie. And, the central location is ideal. Super close to everything...groceries (including my favorite, Trader Joe's), restaurants, Starbucks, and great shopping on El Paseo. Both outside patios are also attractive, with a great view of both sunrise and the mountains from the back patio. And the pool across the street is in one of the nicer, more private settings than other pools at Monterey CC. Add all this to the fact that Lorna is a dream landlord...very quickly responds to all questions and/or concerns. You will be very happy you chose this condo for your visit to the Coachella Valley.
We escaped to this condo for the weekend and what a delightful time! You enter though the front courtyard where there is a beautiful fountain and seating area that really sets the tone for the whole stay. The inside of the condo is completely upgraded with gorgeous bathrooms and a spectacular kitchen! The furnishings are incredible and very comfortable. One of my favorite things about this condo is that you have everything you need right there in the condo. The owner has thought of everything, such as pool towels in addition to bath towels, and even has every kitchen accessory you could possibly need! It was like being home, but in the most relaxing ambiance. We were also very pleased with the location of the condo, as it is very close to all of the restaurants and shops. We were very happy with our stay and will certainly return! If you are looking for a place to relax and getaway from it all, this is the place!!!
The condo was lovely----nicely furnished with extra amenities like spices for cooking, TV's in both bedrooms,
lots of closet space, and a water fountain that made a lovely sound when it was on. Sitting on the deck watching
golfers was fun and comfortable.. We also loved the area restaurants, being close to El Paseo area, and the
many sightseeing things to do such as the tram. We definitely are going back for another stay and loved working
with the owner. She is terrific and very thoughtful.
Located within the Monterey Country Club, close to the main clubhouse. Gorgeous southern, eastern and west facing views of the golf course, mountains and water fountain. Five minutes from El Paseo Drive, restaurants and a stones-throw from the weekly flea market.

Additional information about rental rates
Reservation Deposit/Refundable Security Deposit due of $600 for rentals of 30 days or more ($250 for one week rentals) at booking and signing of Rental Agreement. $125 cleaning fee in addition to rental fee. Security deposit will be used to cover any excess cleaning required beyond normal use, like stains requiring carpet or furniture shampooing services. Specific terms regarding the deposit are defined in the rental agreement.
