About Lori Miller
My late husband and I bought our vacation home in March of 1990. We chose it based on the unique meandering layout, rustic character and proximity to either mountains or coastline within an hour’s drive. We had absolutely no clue how special that snow-covered site was until we made our first trip back from Philadelphia the following June. When we saw our gorgeous view (brilliantly blue Trickey Pond lapping up against our private waterfront with nothing but natural shoreline on the opposite side) we practically did cartwheels in our new back yard. I still feel that thrill – glee mixed with gratitude – when I first arrive, even after 25 summers.
Lori Miller purchased this House in 1990
Why Lori Miller chose Naples
Trickey Pond is renowned as one of Maine's cleanest lakes. The opposite shoreline is still wild and untouched as far as the eye can see. The road is paved and lined with homes, runners, walkers, cyclists, baby stroller-pushers...it's a real neighborhood and everyone's friendly. In contrast, the back yard is extremely private, while offering expansive views of the lake. The north end of the lake has 2 islands, one hosts a returning loon couple, the other has a rope swing only reachable by boat...or kayak...or canoe...or stand-up paddle board!
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Trickey Pond retreat is a Maine treat.
This was our second time at Leaning Pines and this week was even better than the first! The first floor layout is perfect for the whole gang to enjoy and spread out. All rooms are generous size with lovely comfortable furniture. All linens and supplies are new or in great condition.
The second floor is a unique layout but everything is very comfortable, especially the great fans provided for a hot evening. Hoping in time it will be updated like the first floor- then it would be just perfect.
The Kitchen has just about everything you need - we spoil ourselves and travel our own waffle maker, breakfast griddle, can opener and sheet pans which make dinner prep and clean up a snap.
Thanks to great weather, the lake was perfect! Warmer than I expected being earlier in the season for us. Kayaks and Paddle boards used every day. Loved hearing the Loons call in the evenings.
Lori is wonderful to work with . She is accommodating and very attentive if a question comes up.
Thanks again Lori for sharing your home with us.

Leaning Pines is the home for you!!! There is so much space and so much to do! It's absolutely breathtaking and perfect. Thank you Lori for helping us begin our wedding memories!!!
Diana, I am so pleased that our house was the perfect location and situation for you and your wedding party. The fact that you connected with all that I also hold so special is heartwarming and makes my own journey that much more meaningful. I hope it works out for you to come back for your First Anniversary next fall!
Lori, Thank-you for a great week at your beautiful home. Our family enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking as well as ping pong tornaments. Your kitchen is well stocked with cooking and serving dishes. The wrap around deck is nice for outdoor dinners with ample room for our crew. The nice fire pit was great for sitting around at night. Trickey pond is absolutely beautiful. The cleanest pond we have been to. Thank you for allowing us to spend some time at your home. We will be back!
Thank you, Claudine, for your kind words. It means a lot to me that your family had a great week at Leaning Pines, creating wonderful memories of the Lakes Region!
The best vacarion ...ever.
We don't have a family vacation often so we try to pick a great spot and this was it. Keeping everyone happy with ages ranging from 1 to 79....can be a challenge! But this place met the challenge....it was like almost everything was new. We were not in want of anything. It was all there. Even with three days of rain we had a good time and the kids never complained! My daughter said "best vacation ever".
Thank you Ron! I'm so happy to hear how well it went. Glad the weather did not deter you from having a great vacation with your extended family. I hope you will come back again.
What a wonderful week at a beautiful house and lake. Entire family had a wonderful stay on Tricky Pond. The house was perfect for everyone. We all enjoyed the morning views from the living room. Just breath taking! Could not have had a better week!
Thanks, Nancy. I'm so happy to hear you had a great week.
excellent family vacation site.
Thank you Lori for making your lovely home available to our party of 11. Six adults and 5 kids. We began each day in the spacious kitchen, later talking among ourselves in one of the 3 living areas; kids and adults all participating in the conversations which were rich. Then the crew moved out to the wonderful waterfront area and it was here where we stayed for a good part of every sunny day, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing on one of the 2 sailboats we brought to the house. One morning our flotilla moved up the pond to the north end and many of us enjoyed the rope swing on one of the islands. I appreciated the beauty and safety of your porch, dock and water entry area. For the rainy days drawing paper, pens and pencils helped entertain the kids, and you were most thoughtful to provide both those and the puzzles and board games in the back living area. We had a family ping pong tournament. On our last night we gathered by the fire ring and toasted somemores. Our family enjoyed a most memorable week together.
Thank you, Ellen, for painting such a detailed picture of your week at Leaning Pines. I'm so glad you made such good use of the house and property and all the Trickey Pond has to offer!
