Amazing villa, highly recommended
My family of 4 (kids ages 14 and 12) have visited St John, USVI for ~10 years straight and have stayed at many luxury villas there. We decided to visit Nevis for the first time to change things up, and Sanctuary villa was almost 50% of the reason. This villa is just as the photos portray. The view of St Kitts and the water are amazing. The infinity edge pool is very large and we all had a great time having fun in the pool. I highly recommend the villa as it is a bit different thant the others around it as it has remote control screened in porch that is right by the pool. It was nice to have the screens to help keep the bugs out. Suzanne and Kirby were great to work with and everything went off without any troubles. Suzanne met us at the dock and had our rental car all lined up. Nevis was a wonderful vacation.
Great spot! Perfect vacay rental!
The villas at cliffwelders was a wonderful spot. Incredible views of st Kitts and sunset. Clean and cute decor. Rustic yet all the amenities you need! Suzanne who manages the property is fantastic and is like the concierge during your stay. Coordinating dinners, excursions, car rentals, etc. truly making it feel like a turn key experience. He only thing missing at cliffdwellers is a stretch of beach and dining. I would highly recommend staying with your family at Broad Reach!
This is my second revue if the Sanctuary at Cliffdwellers on the beautiful island of Nevis. We are looking forward to our fourth year at this property with great anticipation. We started with two weeks but liked it so much that we now stay a full month. There are three comfortable bedrooms but we go with another couple and only use two which makes it just perfect. My wife and I have had the good fortune to have traveled extensively and the experience with Sugar Mill Real Estate has always been "top notch". The gentle breeze is constant and the view from the Sanctuary is outstanding. The arrangements for "pick up" at the airport, the rental car waiting at the dock, and the general attitude of the staff makes things so easy for new comers and returnees alike. The Sanctuary's kitchen is well equipped for "dining in" if desired. There are excellent local "carry out" opportunities for delicious ribs at really bargain prices and many restaurants ranging from local cuisine to elegant "Four Seasons" fare, all within a short driving distance. Ask Susan or Doreen for some exciting dining opportunities.
I would definitely recommend a rental car. Make your arrangements through the Sugar Mill office as they know the best deals. The island is small and there are several charming restaurants converted from old sugar mills. There are also museums depicting the island's history. It was the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton and played and an important role in the eighteenth century sugar trade. While there are interesting shops on Nevis, if you wish more "glitz", St. Kitts is a pleasant ferry boat ride away. It is also an interesting trip to soak up more history of the area.
If you wish to escape the cold weather and retreat to a relaxing "Eden", you can't go wrong.
Amazing location on Nevis!!
We stayed in this property with our family while some close friends stayed in the neighborhood at another property, which worked out wonderfully. The neighborhood felt very private and exclusive and was beautifully kept and manicured. The location of this property is beachfront with only a grassy patch and stairway between the back of the house and the beach. The home was beautiful (pictures do not do it justice) and I loved that the downstairs living space could be completely opened up to the screened porch. The breeze was wonderful, and although there was air conditioning available in all of the bedrooms, we never turned it on. We have traveled a great deal in the Caribbean, South Pacific and Hawaii, and the view from this home is my all time favorite- breath taking. Awoke to a rainbow over St. Kitt's on Easter morning. The view from the 2nd floor bedrooms was especially amazing. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to prepare food in the home.
The only reason I did not give this property 5 stars was that the cleaning upon our arrival was not up to expected standards. I suspect it may have had something to do with our arrival on Easter weekend. The pool was dirty with many leaves floating in it, some areas of the grass nearly knee high, dirty laundry and towels in a couple of the closets and the pantry shelves full of open bags of food, which I have never before encountered in a vacation rental. There was a mid-week clean, as well as a couple of days of pool service and the grass was mown mid-week. After this, we enjoyed the infinity pool in the back yard very much. Other than the minor issues mentioned above the house was clean and comfortable and I would highly recommend it.
Property managers were helpful arranging a catamaran tour as well as a rainforest hike to the waterfalls- both were so much fun. Overall loved this rental and would definitely love to come back some day!
We stayed here for a birthday celebration and loved it. The house is in perfect condition and very clean and well-kept. It is spacious and the views of St. Kitts are amazing. We spent most of our time relaxing at the pool, but found a lot to do on the island. It is a laid-back environment, not touristy and over-built like a lot of the Caribbean. Thank you for allowing us to rent your home. It was lovely and we will definitely be back. Doreen from Sugar Mill Real Estate was especially helpful in making any arrangements for us. The welcome breakfast, drinks and bath amenities were a great start to our stay. We are looking forward to returning!
Thank you Jennifer for sending your review to me. I was happy to have it posted here. We look forward to having you back anytime! Glad you had a wonderful time. Best regards! Kirby
Excellent property, We're going back
To begin with, Nevis is a delight!!, friendly people, good restaurants, and a real island "get-a-way". We stayed at the Sanctuary for two weeks earlier this year and were so impressed, that we booked three weeks in 2015. Frankly, I'm hoping for a month in 2016. It exceeded our expectations. If I were to build and decorate a vacation home, I know of no changes that I would make. It is comfortable, convenient, and the management treats guests as long lost relatives. If you don't like this house, stay home, there is no hope for you. Re-read the property description, it is "spot on". If you need high end restaurants, Nevis has them. My favorites were the local spots which management is more than happy to recommend. Try them all or cook for yourself in the Sanctuary's well equipped kitchen while enjoying the infinity pool and sipping your favorite beverage.
