A fantastic discovery!
We spent a week in Charles' beautiful second floor apartment on a lovely tree-lined street. The bed is firm and the bathroom is the nicest we've ever had in a rental. The main rooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and designed. There is a small porch outside with table and two chairs. Below is a patio with a gentle flowing pond. There is a parking space.
The area abounds with excellent restaurants. Only steps away is a small bistro where we enjoyed several terrific meals and conversation at the bar. The neighborhood is excellent for walking and we took full advantage. Avenue du Mont Royal, only a block away, has bus connections to the Botanical Garden, museums, or the metro.
I enthusiastically recommend Charles' stylish, elegant and quiet apartment!
It is always a pleasure to offer a nice place to stay to guests respectful and eager to discover Montreal from my neighbourhood. I am glad that Stephen and his spouse fell in love with Montreal. They left my place as clean as it was when they arrived and enjoyed very much the resources around my place. They are the kind of guests that you can trust without hesitation.
Lovely accomodations for our family vacation!
Visiting Montreal and using vrbo.com for the first time, we weren't sure what to expect, but we were so happy when we arrived at Charles' place for our stay! His apartment is very stylish, cozy, clean and very comfortable, and perfectly located on a lovely tree-lined street, a very short walk to shops, cafes, restaurants and beautiful parks. His apartment was the perfect size for my husband, 8-year-old son and me. Charles went out of his way to make us feel right at home and provided us with a wealth of information regarding sites to visit, restaurant recommendations, maps, and instructions on the use of the apartment. We were very touched to find a nice bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. As Charles was on vacation and unable to meet us in person, he arranged for one of his neighbors to greet us when we arrived, and this neighbor and his family were the nicest, warmest people who made us feel so welcome and were so helpful. All in all, my family and I truly enjoyed our stay at Charles' place, and we would definitely plan to stay here again on our next trip to Montreal! Thank you so much Charles!!
Thank you very much for this very nice review. I love Montreal and to share my city with friendly people like you. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at my place. I will make sure to share your review with my fabulous neighbors!
Everything I could have hoped for and more!
The 2490 character limit imposed on this review might be difficult to adhere to as there are too many good things to write about Charles' beautiful, serene space in the stylish and hip Le Plateau neighborhood.
Firstly, Charles is delightful to work with. He was lightning quick to respond to my emails and to anticipate any questions. When I met Charles at his home, he was equipped with maps of Montreal, tourist brochures, and a helpful list of how things work at his apartment. He had even read my VRBO bio and saw that I loved bakeries, so he had collected cards from some of his favorite local bakeries so that I could go to them and explore!
The apartment is beautifully decorated, comfortable, quiet, and well-appointed. Charles is also an artist and some of his work is hanging throughout the space, which was really lovely to see. The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a two story building and you feel like you're living in the trees because the street is full of tall, leafy trees. The area is full of quaint and charming homes in the very unique Montreal style with outside staircases. The kitchen had everything I needed or wanted and I enjoyed making meals with the fresh produce you can easily find at Montreal's brilliant markets (his place isn't too far from Jean-Talon, which is amazing!). I am a painfully light sleeper but had no trouble as the neighborhood is very quiet, even though you are a short walk from the happening street of Mont Royal and the delightful Rue Laurier. Everything you could need or want can be found on either of those streets (which also lead you to two different Metro stops, a pleasant walk), making Charles's place really in the thick of it all, yet a perfect oasis of tranquility.
All in all, I cannot say enough good things about my stay at Charles' and about working with Charles. It exceeded all of my expectations and whenever I am in Montreal, I will certainly want to stay at this property! Thank you, Charles for a great experience!
