Imagine - sitting on a large private wrap-around deck, with your favorite beverage, enjoying the sounds of the birds, the squirrels chattering as they run along the fence, and the gentle breeze through the trees. You look over the railing and see three deer slowing meandering across the private lawn. The deer stop, look up at you for a moment, and then casually walk off past the fence. The magic of the moment - true story. This could happen to you.
Relaxation at its best in a beautiful and private 1109 square foot, 3 bedroom, two bath luxury cottage, nestled among the tall trees, within walking distance to Rathtrevor Beach, this vacation rental has all the amenities needed for an enjoyable stay.
This vacation cottage is a newly constructed 1,100 square foot designer decorated cottage with no expense spared. There are two bedrooms on the main floor, one king in the back bedroom and two twin beds in the front, as well as a king size bed in the loft bedroom upstairs with its own ensuite bathroom. With the American Leather made queen size sofa bed in the living room, this cottage will accommodate up to eight people with plenty of room for friends and family to rest and relax in comfort.
The kitchen is well appointed for the chef in the family, including dishes, glassware, chef’s knives, steak knives for 12. The kitchen is well stocked with Cuisinart pots and pans and large slow cooker, cutting boards, cookie sheets, tart tins, roasting pan, serving platters, mixing bowls, pie plates, casserole dishes, hand mixer, 4-slice toaster, coffee maker and a kettle. There is also a microwave and a dishwasher. The dining room table seats six people and there are three stools at the kitchen eating bar.
The high end finishes in this cottage are endless – beach inspired artwork throughout, granite counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms with tile back splash, dark stained maple shaker style cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms, laminate wood flooring in the great room/dining area, large area rug in great room, wall to wall carpet in the bedrooms, a wood staircase and a vaulted pine ceiling.
The large open concept great room has a queen-sized American Leather sofa bed, 50 inch flat screen HD Plasma T.V. with Blu-ray / DVD player. Off of the great room is the very large and private, fenced deck with two gate and steps to the yard. The property is most unique as it has a large triangular shaped lawn. With no neighbors directly behind the cottage you will have complete privacy to enjoy the wonderful warm weather in the summer or the mild temperature during the rest of the year. For your pleasure on the back deck there is a large patio table with an 11 foot umbrella, 6 chairs, 2 recliner garden chairs with foot stools, and a large Weber barbecue with a set of BBQ tools. On the front deck there are 2 chairs and a small table.
The upstairs king bedroom has a 42 inch flat screen HD Plasma T.V. The main floor king bedroom also has a 42 inch flat screen HD Plasma T.V. Throughout the cottage there is high speed wireless internet access. For your viewing pleasure all 3 televisions in the cottage have 44 HD channels and 57 standard definition channels and 55 digital music channels.
During the summer, the ceiling fan in the great room and two stand-up fans will keep you cool and comfortable. During the winter, the beautiful ledge-stone tile surround fireplace will keep you warm and cozy.
The bathroom on the main floor has a tub with a shower. Freshly laundered sheets and towels are supplied. For your convenience there is front loading stack-able washer and dryer for your use in the cottage. There are also beach towels provided for your adventures to the beach or to the recreation building that has an indoor pool, hot tub and exercise room.
The resort is a short 10 minute walk to the beautiful long sandy beaches and tidal pools of Rathtrevor Beach. Be sure to check the Parksville tide charts in advance so you can plan your trips to the beach. Within the resort is a swimming pool with hot tub and exercise room - be sure to bring towels to the pool as towels are not provide there. Next door to the resort is the Riptide Lagoon Adventure Park with two 18 hole mini golf courses and laser tag bumper cars. There are many biking and hiking trails close by. The small town of Parksville is a short drive from the cottage. For easy hiking, visit Englishman River Falls Provincial Park. For the skiing enthusiast, Mount Washington is a short one hour drive. Golf one of the 6 local golf courses. Shop at the intriguing Coombs Country Market and visit the famous Goats on the Roof market - you will see the goats on the roof.

About Brenda Petzold
Brenda and Bryan live in Edmonton, Alberta, but have visited Parksville, toured and beachcombed on Rathtrevor Beach for many years. We have been in Parksville in all seasons, including summer (gorgeous) Thanksgiving and Christmas. We love it, no matter what the weather ... rain or shine, you arrive on the Island and you are suddenly transported to 'Island Time'.

Why Brenda Petzold chose Parksville
We chose this property because it had three bedroom, and not just an open loft on th second floor. We enjoy its proximity to the beach and its unique features such as the private lawn space beside the cottage and the oversized deck space. It is close to nature and we really don't see the neighbors. You wake in the morning to the sounds of the birds. In the back you can watch the squirrels run back and forth along the fence. The Cottage got its name because of the deer that walk through the property. In short is a peaceful and relaxing space with all the creature comforts of home. We furnished th cottage with high quality furntiure and decor pieces. It is our home away from home, we hate leaving. Our 3 year old grand daughter wants to move there because she loves the comfy big bed. We want our guests to relax and enjoy it as much as we do.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our cottage has a private lawn, an over-sized wrap-around deck measuring 10' by 35' across the back and 8' to 10' by 24' down the lawn side of the cottage. We added the privacy railings. There is plenty of room for dining and relaxation. The Cottage has been upgraded with granite in th kitchen and bathroom and comes with its own stacking washer and dryer. The kitchen is well appointed with all the utensils a chef could want. Parksville is close enough that you can walk into town for a coffee. It is close to the ferry, airport in either Nanaimo or Comox. Tofino and Long Beach are a scenic 2.5 hour drive. Victoria is close. You can ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon and beachcomb in the evening. Who could ask for more?

COMFY, RELAXING....FEELS LIKE HOME
My husband and I recently rented this lovely cottage and just loved it. It was very clean and was equipped with everything we needed. We have stayed in this resort of cottages before and both think this one is the best one as far as privacy being the end unit and the additional yard to the side. The weather was totally rainy so we didnt really get to enjoy the extra large deck but enjoyed the place so much we have already booked for later when the sun should be out and we can enjoy the nice BBQ.
Great place located close to the beach and the Tighnamara spa. The place was very comfortable with 2 king sized beds and two twin beds - perfect for a family or two. The loft was also a separate room which was much nicer than the open concept loft which is the case in some of the other units in this development. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Beautifully furnished and very comfortable for 6 chefs
We stayed 3 nights in Sept-Oct. 2016. With a time controlled 4 pm checkin, the girls had a wonderful spa service, lunch package at the Grotto Spa a very short walk away.
We loved how Brenda has provided a very well stocked kitchen, implements , glasses, plates etc. and lovely toiletries . An extra platter could have been used.

The upper and twin bedrooms' windows face a street light. The wicker -like blinds do not darken sufficiently and some other device would be appreciated.
We read the well thought our binder on our arrival. Perhaps a positive list of what you expect from tenants would be better than what was perceived as a "downer" as all infractions were described as hold backs from the required damage deposit.
The other vacation rental owners felt that they would not ask their guests to start a laundry load or gather used towels into the bathtub, put the garbage into end of the block dumpster in the rain.
These would not prevent us from returning and are an opinion other owners ask for like when their clients leave.

If tne booking is made less than 45 days prior to arrival date, 100% of the rental amount will be required to hold the booking. Check in is at 4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. Check out is no later than 11 a.m. on departure day. There is room for one larger vehicle to park or two small vehicles in the driveway. Additional parking may be available in guest parking (availability is on a first come first served basis). Guests will be issued a code to unlock the door by email or text message. This is a "No Smoking" / "No Pet" property. If it is determined that guests have smoked in the cottage or have had a pet in the cottage, extra cleaning charges ($500 and $300) will be applied to the damage deposit. Charges may be applied for parking additional vehicles in the driveway. Blocking of other driveways or parking in front of other cottages is not allowed - additional charges will be applied.
