Casa de queso is a cute and simple 2 bedroom home located in the beach town of esperanza on the caribbean side (south) of vieques. Built on the hillside in Esperanza, it is a short walk to the caribbean where you'll enjoy spectacular beaches, local shops and open air restaurants and bars.
Casa de queso is the perfect home-base for your island adventures. The kitchen and dining area is at the center of the house and opens out to the porch and screened casita. The living area is equipped with tv, dvd player, and futon for additional sleeping arrangements. The master is a nice-sized room with 1 queen bed and opens out to the back yard.
The second sleeping area is semi-private off the living area with a full bed. The house is open and bright with lots of windows and cooled by ceiling fans. For your convince, there is also a laundry facility and private parking for your rental.
The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, blender, and microwave oven. Enjoy dining inside at the kitchen table or outside in screened casita. Or just relax in the hammock! There is also an outside shower to provide a quick rinse when you return from the beach.
We take care of making our island home perfect for a relaxing beach vacation. We try provide everything you will need for an enjoyable stay including towels, beach chairs, and coolers. Enjoy!
Cons, I don't know if the daily rate is because of the location but the house needs renovation. The pictures are somewhat dated. I am a real estate professional and the owner's should take note and upgrade the kitchen, bathroom and seclude the bed in the living room area. A renovation would do justice to daily rate charged.
Now the pros, the location within Esperanza is good since the Malecon and a couple of great beaches are nearby. The area where the hammock is at is great to relax.
Best vacation rental on the planet. Couldn't have been more awesome! :) We can't wait to go back.
This was our second stay. Bill greeted us at the home and gave a brief little tour of where to find necessities, laundry and instruction on the doors and gate during our stay. The house is well equipped with bath and beach towels, clean linens and beach amenities (chairs, coolers, boogie board). The outdoor shower is a plus when you come back from the beach. The kitchen has everything you need for appliances and a small array of cookware. Although the home does not have AC it is well equipped with ceiling fans and oscillating fans and we had no problem sleeping at night. The only requested change we would make is for the house to have Internet as phone service is sparse on the Esperanza side of the island.
Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! Bill was there as we arrived and shared all of his expertise with us. The house was very clean and provided us with everything we needed while visiting the beautiful island. We explored the beaches, the great restaurants, the quaint little shops and the men went to the sportsman's club and shot skeet with Richard with breathtaking views. We spent many a morning out in the patio area enjoying the warm weather. Once again thank you so much for everything!!!!

We stayed here on a recent trip to Vieques and this place was perfect for what we were needing. Its in a great location, everything within walking distance. The property manager, Bill was great. He met us a the property, showed us around and made sure there was nothing we needed. I would highly recommend and will stay here again.
We stayed here for almost a week and were so happy! The house manager was helpful and very accommodating. The temperature was perfect while we were there, and the fans kept us comfortable as we slept. We stayed with one other couple and enjoyed playing dominos and cards outside in the screened in Casita. The hammock was a favorite, and I also was able to do my morning yoga in the Casita. It was nice to have our own kitchen for simple cooking and beverages, and we walked to the bakery for fresh bread and cafe each morning. We mostly walked everywhere but did rent scooters for two days to explore the island. We did our laundry before we left and it was so nice to return home with clean clothes in our suitcases. We appreciated not having internet because it helped us relax without being tempted to check email, etc. We will stay here again soon and hopefully bring our 4-year-old twins next time! Thanks for a wonderful getaway!
