Beautiful home, lots of space, full kitchen to feed our families and lots of scenic views! Quiet location and the hot tub was a nice treat after long days hiking in the National Park! Oh---and the Central Air Conditioning was the BEST!!!

Would love to give it five stars, but a couple issues need to be addressed first...

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this property for two nights while visiting Sequoia Natiobal Park just recently and enjoyed our stay. It was my twenty year old daughter, seventeen year old son and myself. The house was very neat and tidy, and spacious. Loved the updated kitchen and the deer that appeared on the back patio were a plus. Locale was nice in regards to the park and up the road was a great ice cream shop and a couple of restaurants we enjoyed. The biggest complaint we had was the fluctuating water temp in the showers. It was impossible to regulate and would pulse hot and cold. This was something I recommended to the owner that needed to be fixed. It had been mentioned before on her journal. The dishes were great, but the pots and pans could have been updated and increased because they were the bare minimum. That small improvement would go a long way. Overall, we loved the house and just wished the water issue would be resolved, for the price and people's safety, I recommend that be done soon.

Big house, great location near Sequoia

  • 4 of 5

This house was great for my family (my husband and I and our two boys). We only used two of the bedrooms! The hot tub was wonderful in the evening after a long day hiking in Sequoia National Park. The house is very close to the park entrance. There are neighboring houses around on the street so the house is not private but we didn't mind at all. The sound of the river was nice to hear. We enjoyed eating at the Gateway and at Riverview. We had one issue upon check in but the owner was responsive via text and it was all worked out. We do wish there had been instructions on the operation of the TV (we were stumped for awhile but eventually got it). Also we did not find specific check out instructions in the information at the house. The wifi worked great!

Great base for Sequoia National Park

  • 5 of 5

We took a long weekend to visit Sequoia National Park. We looked at hotels in the park and at Three Rivers. There are six of us and finding accommodation in a hotel is always hard. We found this place and it worked out great. From the front, it looks pretty small but in reality it has plenty of space. A bonus for us was the the master bedroom was a little isolated from the other bedrooms where the kids slept so it was more private and quiet. All the rooms were very large including the living room with large TV. We used netscape - there is a DVD - not sure what else since we didn't spend time with TV. The kitchen was very functional - it was a long galley style meaning there was plenty of room. We prefer home cooked meals due to taste and we know what's in them, and besides it cost less than eating out. A bonus of a house vs a hotel. We brought our own food but there is a market in town. A bit pricey but what you'd expect and would be helpful in a pinch. The place has a full size washer and dryer which we used to reduce the laundry when we got home. Everything worked as you'd expect.

All in all it was a great experience and we'd consider returning.

Loved the property and location.

  • 4 of 5

We spent time at Sequia Natl park and the location was 6 miles from the house which was wonderful. The deck was great and we enjoyed the stars and full moon the night we were there.

Comfortable and Conveniently Located

  • 4 of 5

This was our 1st time in the area and we so enjoyed the Sequoia National Park and as indicated, this home is very close to the entrance. As we visited in the winter, the park says it requires chains and yes, you do have to have them and NEED them to get very far into the park. I suggest you bring them with you or get them in Three Rivers BEFORE you get near the park entrance, as they are much cheaper ($30-$40 vs $50-$60+). The visitors center was very helpful and we were able to sign up and take a guided snowshoe tour hosted by a very entertaining park ranger, for free! If it is a holiday weekend, we suggest you call a day or so ahead to make a reservation.

The house was spacious and well stocked with coffee, tea, olive oil, a few spices, dish cleaning products, shampoo, towels and helpful information about the surrounding area. Having 2 full baths with 2 adult children, was also a plus. The living room furniture was comfortable, though it looked like it could use a good steam clean. After our snowshoe experience and an 8 mile hike, we were certainly glad that this home had a hot tub! The view of the stars and the heated jets of the tub after a physically taxing day, were a real treat. The only draw back is that is not a full depth hot tub which makes it safe for children but not as comfortable for adults.

After returning home, I realized that I had left my curling iron brush and travel hair dryer. (I didn't need the hair dryer as the house had them in both bathrooms.) Upon contacting the caretaker, they graciously mailed these items back to me. We would rent this property or another in the area again. It was a wonderful get away.
