Beautiful, cozy cottage

Orb and Diane's cottage is just magical, amid a vast and beautiful landscape, let's you escape the fast paced city life to relax and rejuvenate. The cottage is just perfect for two people with a lovely picket fence and seating outside. Apart from the cottage, the entire place is lovely with a serene lake which Orb and Diane are more than happy to share .

Perfect for a Yosemite Getaway!

My wife and I stayed at the cottage for a weekend while we were exploring Yosemite. It was super clean and very homey! We loved staying there. We especially enjoyed all the rabbits in the driveway at night!.

The only stars I really want to see in California

  • 5 of 5

We loved this little cottage. Tranquil and peaceful surroundings ....close enough to the owners home to feel secure but far enough away to have privacy. A bit on the smallish size but the queen bed is comfortable and the place is very clean. If your there on a clear night as we were look up at the stars....they're amazingly bright and we could see the white haziness of the Milky Way....This place is an outstanding value for the money and you'd be hard pressed to beat it....hope to make it back there again some day.........Mark & Pam Webster

Cozy, comfy and just perfect for us!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for sharing your wonderful property with us. We weren't there long enough to really appreciate all the work you have put in your property and home. Fortunately we were there in time to enjoy the lovely lilac bushes! Thank you again for your hospitality. Kerry and Dave

Exactly as owner represented.

Cottage sits well off the road and was perfectly outfitted for my needs as a home base for Yosemite. Impressive grounds with two very nice homes on probably 5-acre site. Don't rent if you are looking to be on the grid; wifi spotty at best; satellite TV with music channels only. Very comfortable mattress & bedding materials. Enough hot water, but no 20-minute showers. Basic kitchen with hot plate, microwave, & mini-frig. I'll bring my wife next time.

Beautiful Area, Cozy Room

  • 5 of 5

I took my boyfriend to Orb and Diane's cottage for his birthday weekend. He's a fisherman, so I was looking for somewhere near the water. The lakes were both close, and easy to find.

We had a nice time, and would definitely go back.

If you are on your way to Yosemite, we recommend that you stay on Hwy 132. Do not go through Groveland. The historic gold mining town of Coulterville is 7.6 miles from the Cottage at Granite Dell. The oldest operating saloon in California, the "Magnolia Room" is located in Coulterville. You will also find the Northern Mariposa County Museum, the Coulter Cafe and General Store, the Coulterville Post Office, and the Cake Walk Bakery. The closest market to The Cottage at Granite Dell is The Don Pedro Market. At the top of the drive you will turn to the left, it's 2.8 miles on Hwy 132 to the market. If you would like to get something to eat the closest place to The Cottage at Granite Dell is "The Lumberyard Cafe", it's 2.5 miles to Merced Falls Rd. (like you're going toward the market) turn left on Merced Falls Rd. you'll see it up ahead on the left. If you're interested in going to Lake McClure, you would just stay on this road for about 3.1 miles and then turn left on Ranchito Drive, the entrance will be in about 1 mile. If you are going to Lake Don Pedro, you will also turn left at the top of the drive and travel 4.9 miles to Bonds Flat Road, you will turn to the right because you can only turn right :) and travel about 2.5 miles to the entrance. If you are interested in the little town of La Grange it's 12.7 miles and there they have the La Grange Saloon and Restaurant.
