Kandace Tanner purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Kandace Tanner chose Sevierville

We purchased 'Flying Horse Views' out of a love for the area.

After spending over the past two decades staying at many of the cabin rentals offered in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and of course, Wears Valley, we decided to buy a cabin for ourselves.

We thought it would be nice to offer the opportunity for other's to experience the wonderful years of memories we made on many vacations with our kids growing up and even after the empty nest came.

We love people and hope that all will come and enjoy those much needed times of refreshing at Our Cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

I fell in love with this cabin when I first saw it.

On every trip James and I took, we looked for two things, view and privacy. We usually found the view but without the privacy, or we found the privacy without the view.

Flying Horse View has it ALL with easy access roads and well maintained streets and neighborhood.

If you want it all, this cabin is busting at the seams with amenities!!

This cabin is the only place I will ever stay!!

Date of Stay

February 8, 2013

This is Me and my family's 2nd time staying at this cabin. We call it our "home away from home". The views are incredible and breathtaking. The main reason we chose this cabin the first time was for the peace and quiet it offers. I believe for most of the week we were the only ones on the mountain. The cabin is clean, and has everything you could need. All you have to get is food! Randy made our rental process so easy. We are planning on returning to the Smokies in the fall. This is the only place we will stay. If it is booked, we will choose another date, not another place.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for us. Very easy to find, very quiet in the area, and perfectly secluded. Having a lower level with a bedroom, bathroom, gameroom, and private deck was great for those of us that stayed up later than others. The lower deck has no access to the road or woods, so it was great for our dog. He loves to be outside. We enjoyed the hot tub on a super-cold night and it was so relaxing. We almost didn’t get in because it was so cold outside, but glad we did. We actually got hot and had to get out. Ha! Having the TV out there on the music channels was a great bonus! A couch down there would have been better for us, but the 2 gliders with ottomans and pub style bistro set were fine. We didn’t play foosball but did enjoy the air hockey table and the Wii. The sunset was absolutely amazing and one of our favorite parts. Don’t miss it! We didn’t see any bears like others. We kept the food in trash bags inside until we checked out. We were hoping our dog didn’t encounter any bears so we were extra precautious. We used the smoker outside and the fire pit. Works great. Needed Kandace when we first arrived and she was available right then. There were plenty of towels, kitchen utensils, the beds were comfy, recliners comfy, the space heater in the closet came in handy at night downstairs. It got pretty cold. I read that both the upper level fireplace and lower level fire place need to be on at the same time for the downstairs to heat, but it made it too hot upstairs so the downstairs was the only one on and it has a timer on it that only goes up to an hour. As a result, we got pretty cold during the night. I used the space heater in the bedroom and that did the trick; it was just freezing when we woke up. The fireplace heats it up pretty fast, though. You just have to restart it hourly. The cabin is plenty close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Maybe 10-15 minutes. Lots of Dollar Generals and Alpine Coasters nearby. We visited Ober Gatlinburg in hopes to do the snow tubing. It was sold out that day and only a few slots available the next that didn’t work for us. Make sure to get your tickets online ahead of time!! The Island in Pigeon Forge was great. Plenty to eat and shop. Several fun things like the ferris wheel and bungee things for kids. Titanic exhibit was cool. $25/adult, but takes every bit of 2 hours to complete and is very well put together. Kids and adults will enjoy. Thanks Kandace for a great stay. We felt right at home!

The cabin was neat & clean. It had everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

Flying Horse Views is a great property. It had everything we were looking for in a cabin rental & the location was great! If you’re looking for a peaceful location, this is the spot for you. Situated with a short drive into the park for the most magnificent sights! If you don’t want all the hubbub of Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, head toward Townsend & Maryville for a little slower pace. We will most definitely be coming back!

Even better than advertised!!!

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough about how wonderful the property was. The house was so spacious and cozy, the views from the amazing two level decks were spectacular, and the surrounding area is so pretty and quiet. Not a single thing was lacking in our stay, cannot wait to come back and have already recommended the cabin to friends. Didn't have a single issue but felt assured that I could have reached Kandace at any time should anything have arisen.

Awesome trip!

We had a great stay!! The owners are amazing to work with and always responded promptly. We have stayed at many cabins in the past, but the mountain road to this cabin has to be the best one yet. The road is very well maintained and wide. If you are looking to book a cabin, don’t look anymore—this one is perfect! Thanks again!
