Originally born and raised in Illinois I now live on this glorious farm in Middletown MD with Mike and our dog Lucy. My two sons, pictured throughout the site, are both college students and it leaves Mike and I a lot of time to work and enjoy plenty of down time on the farm
My husband Mike was born and raised on this family farm with four other amazing brothers. A good family location to create wonderful new memories of special time spent together.
Close to Baltimore/DC activities and yet also a destination in itself for anyone just wanting to relax surrounded by nature.
Wow! What a peaceful place to stay! Our family really enjoyed the relaxing environment and had a hard time adjusting to reality. The kids keep asking when we can go back or buy our own farm. Kids loved feeding and watching the animals. The owners were excellent teachers educating the kids about sustainable farming and caring for livestock and the kids happily took over the animal care by themselves the last few days! All enjoyed eating the farm fresh eggs the kids collected and we found ourselves searching for more egg recipes. A nice treat being able to take the family dog and having a nice fenced yard. The 1.5 baths that we thought would be a problem ended up creating some great memories:)
We traveled to Middletown MD for a family reunion for a week ending with a beautiful barn wedding! This property is loaded with stunning scenery! It has beautiful streams, and is surrounded by woods. The sunrise from the front porch is fabulous! While it is peaceful and relaxing, there is plenty in the area for families and adventure seekers to do! There was far more to explore than we had time for! The farmhouse had plenty of space for a large family gathering. Built in the 1800s, it has lovely and unique woodwork! We will certainly go back!
We cannot wait to return to Fredrick. You can expect perfectly peaceful days unless you have the kids along. If that is the case, you will spending days walking, wading, canoeing, and fishing. The creek that runs through the property is fantastic! Many great memories made just messing around in the water. Very picturesque, a photographers dream. This one is for real, we will be back!
