A great place to stay

Nice quiet location in a unique house with very interesting decor. The pool is beautiful, great for kids and we spent a lot of time in it. The pond is difficult to access - down a steep and wooded hill. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped for cooking. The owner is really friendly and responsive, and was eager to make our visit a satisfying one. Highlights of the stay were seeing a bear with two cubs, and visiting the nearby Sterling Hill Mining Museum which is amazing. I recommend this house highly.

😕� house ok. Dealing with logistics of renting, not so good. Much of the house needs work. Bees eating it away and aggressive. ! Accusations of liability and difficulty with communication. Very insulting experience.

Owner's Response: Of course a homeowner hates a review like this, but more importantly, I am truly sorry the guests did not experience a 5 star stay. I do everything possible to work with each guest as an individual and be accommodating to their special needs. This guest was traveling from overseas, did not have a US address, only mail drop post office box, did not have valid credit card and could not sign a rental agreement, making the booking process more complicated. This is the review I personally received directly from the guest - Rosanna,Your home is absolutely lovely. Ellen Although this guest broke almost every house rule - extra overnight guests, entering closed off owner's areas, adding chemicals to the pool, etc... I fully refunded their security deposit.

Lovely, Peaceful, Very Private Cottage

I rented this place for long Labor Day weekend. Throughly enjoyed my time in this neat, well kept, clean and comfortable home. The privacy was one of my favorite aspects of the property. The pool is very nice, but it was too chilly for swimming. Next time! The kitchen and bathrooms was nicely renovated and well stocked! The entire home is well cared for, roomy and prepared for guests accordingly. Rosanna was a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for a restful happy weekend!

This woman lies and turns everything around to try to make you look crazy. There was a lot of positive communication prior to our visit then the accusations of damage began soon after checkout. I have numerous emails from the owner stating what great care we took of her home then it turned into we caused a water leak in the ceiling. There were 4 of us there & none of us spotted a leak. She waited 4 days after we checked out to inspect the home so the leak may have happened during that time. First she said she found we left the skylight open during a storm then when I explained it was really hot and we didn't have them open because the air was on it suddenly became that I ran the air too much causing condensation to cause the leak. Then the lease allows dogs, she charges a cleaning fee, I did things correctly and received permission to bring my dog. Then there became excessive extra cleaning fees because of dog hair in the house. She claimed hours and 4 vacuum bags filled with dog hair, my dog is not big & would be bald if she filled 4 bags. Not to mention that the pics of proof she sent me were mostly dirt and dust that was all over the house. We are the type of people (ages 50-70) that make the most of our stay wherever we stay but this one pushed the limits. Every night as soon as the sun went down there were bugs (a lot)flying around in the house, mainly circling the dining room light over the table. We would have the bug spray ready every night, without fail they would come. Again, we made the most of it and had fun with it and didn't complain. So she forces you (should be optional) to buy the property damage insurance then she clearly stated to me the she is refunding my dep. but she is filing a claim against my insurance to be reimbursed (scam alert!!lol). She held my deposit "hostage" until she got paid from the insurance. Needless to say the insurance company saw this for what it was & denied her claim, she kept my deposit. I sent all of my documentation and pics to my credit card co and had the dep. reversed from her acct. Now she is claiming I somehow hacked into her acct and stole her money!! She has a very creative mind for all of the lies she tells. I don't know how she keeps them straight. The only thing I am interested in at this point is to not have anyone else get ripped off-document everything. Also be careful of the cement around the pool, the bricks are not cemented down so they are hard to walk on. My 73 yo mother almost fell on them.

Owner's Response: This group of old ladies not only caused over $1000 worth of damage, but then had the credit card company refund the payment they made to me! They scammed me. And now commit libel here. Shame on them...

wonderful long weekend

We enjoyed almost everything about our weekend.

The property is beautiful, the pool a Godsend, help for figuring out the TV was a text message away, the decor eclectic and interesting.

We were there on a hot weekend and the main floor AC was not strong enough to cool the entire floor. Despite that, I would go back again!

this property was very equipped with the things we needed in the kitchen. it was very clean and well maintained. The owners customer service was outstanding. The property was 20 minutes from Stokes State Forest, this is where we spent some of our time. I would recommend this property to families , couples, and anyone looking for a little relaxation.
