Guestbook comments from the owner

We had an awesome time here in Lake Placid. The townhouse is beautiful. We had everything that we needed. Our family felt at home during our stay. Its apparent that the owners put a great deal of thought into the Unit.

We definitely recommend this place to anyone that we know that plans to visit Lake Placid. We definitely want to come back ourselves and see the many other things that Lake Placid has to offer.

Clean, Comfortable, and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a place to stay in Lake Placid, look no further.

Our family stayed at Barbara's townhouse for a long weekend. We've rented a lot of places over the years, and this one ranks close to the top. The house was spotless, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped--if you want to cook on vacation without having to bring all of your own tools, etc, this place will allow you to do so. We were only 4 people, but there is plenty of room for more. And the layout allows for spreading out so you won't be tripping over each other.

The townhouse is walking distance to the village. We walked back and forth a couple of times and didn't have to deal with trying to find a parking place in the busy village. It's only a 15 minute drive to Whiteface (alpine skiing) or to Mt. Van Hoevenberg (XC).

Our visit was a bit unusual in that there was a fierce storm Saturday afternoon, and the entire village lost power! Barbara and Armando came and checked on us to make sure we were okay and provided dinner for us. Thank you, again, Barbara and Armando. You were such wonderful hosts.

Restaurant recommendations are: Nicola's (in the village); Lisa G's--right around the corner; and The View at Mirror Lake Inn (fine dining--great for a special occasion).

We would definitely stay here again and certainly hope to get back to Lake Placid soon. The Adirondacks are such a special place--so unspoiled!

Comfortable and Great Location

  • 5 of 5

The location is conveniently located close to town, yet not too far from the Ski Centers … Mt Van Hoevenberg XC Ski Center is less than 10 minutes away. PineHill 3 is a very comfortable home that is well equipped with everything you need for cooking. The layout of the house has a nice open kitchen/living area and separate levels for sleeping… and everything was very clean. The Adirondack decorations are a nice touch and give the place a Adirondack camp feel. And besides being very prompt to respond when setting up the reservation, the owner left and very nice welcome basked of snacks. We had a great stay!

Phenomenal townhouse!

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough good things about our accommodations during our week long stay in Lake Placid. We arrived to a very thoughtful gift basket from the owner. The townhouse was so much more than we had expected. Extremely clean and very homey. The location is perfect, a short ride or walk to the village. I highly recommend this townhouse to any family visiting the Lake Placid area. Thank you for allowing us to rent your home Barbara!!!

Aiderondachs hiking

  • 5 of 5

This was my family's first experience using home away, and i can only hope that all properties are as great as this one. The property was beautiful and even though it was a townhouse, it was extremely quiet. The kitchen was better equipped than my own at home, and the owner has stocked it with some of the basics, making it easy to pick up a few things for meals after a day of hiking. The beds were comfortable and there extra pillows and bedding for those that needed it. It was a short walk to the town, and quick drive to several trails which made all family members happy. We will be using home away in the future, but it will be tough for others to match the care this owner has put into this townhouse. Thank you!

Lake Placid Paradise - beautiful, cozy home

  • 5 of 5

Dear Barbara,

We wanted to thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house and for welcoming us with your sweet and thoughtful gift basket, the warm fireplace, and exceptionally clean and cozy home. Your impeccable style, design, and tasteful touch to each detail in the home made it feel like ours. The kitchen was fully stocked and supplied with all the necessary condiments, utilities, and kitchenware (plates, knives, spoons, forks, wine glasses, mugs, etc). It made it easy for us to cook dinners each evening, and we had the most filling, delicious breakfasts. The bedrooms were very clean and the beds were super comfortable and was the best go-to after a long day of skiing and snowboarding! The bathrooms were very clean, with fresh towels and just in case we forgot something, like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, or even a toothbrush, you had a spare for us.

Your home is very close to Whiteface Mountain and Main Street, making it convenient for us to travel somewhere, but always be close enough to come back home. It's in a great location, overlooking a beautiful little pond and with the sun shining through the balcony every morning. Our stay was too short, and we wish we could have stayed longer. This trip was so memorable for our family, that we cannot wait to come back to Lake Placid to your home in the near future. Your home was very comfortable, cozy, and modern. We never had to leave the home to buy something extra because you thought of everything for us. Thank you for always making yourself so available to us if we had any questions or concerns. Thank you for taking care of us Barbara, and for coming to visit us! It was such a pleasure and we truly appreciate it.

All the very best,

Vladimir, Yelena, Valerie, Vitalii

A gem in Lake Placid

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised by this townhouse in Lake Placid. The owner, Barbara, takes great pride in her investment and you can see it from the moment you step into the house. It has three levels and each room is very welcoming and warm. Everything looks new, the house (including the kitchen and bathrooms) is stocked up with everything one needs (and more), the neighborhood is quiet; location-wise, it is fairly close to the center of the town. Barbara took care of all the details beautifully; moreover, she takes time to meet and greet her tenants. It felt like home to my family. We recommend this place warmhearted.
