Overview

About the property

Oceanfront 1 bedroom+, 1 bathroom with stunning ocean and mountain views.

Welcome to the condo I refer to as my little piece of paradise! If you're looking for a convenient, comfortable quiet place to spend your time on Maui, this is the condo for you. The unit is a short 15-20 minute ride from the Kahalui airport and is centrally located and easily accessible from Kahalui, Wailuku, Kihei and Lahaina. The Maalaea resort area is adjacent to Maalaea Harbor, a small harbor and shopping area from which depart some of the best sailing and whale watching cruises in the world. Watch the boats come and go, the surfers riding the 'Freight Train', one of the world's fastest rideable waves, the sea turtles feeding and, during whale season (November - April), watch the playful antics of the majestic humpback whales, all from the privacy of your lanai. Combine all of this with the beautifully manicured tropical grounds, oceanfront pool and shared gas grills with outdoor dining areas and you will look forward to coming 'home' after a day of seeing all that Maui has to offer.

From the moment you enter the unit, you will be drawn to the spectacular view of the ocean and harbor from the living area and lanai. You're so close to the ocean that you can hear the surf all day and night, even back in the bedroom. Once you're done taking in the views, take a moment to peruse the place you'll call home for the next few days: the California king bed and custom closet in the master bedroom, the newly outfitted bathroom, the fully-equipped kitchen with views of the ocean and breakfast bar dining, the living area with a queen sofa sleeper and dining table and the lanai where, if you're anything like me, you will spend most of your time! When that Maui heat just gets to be too much, come in from the lanai and turn on the air-conditioner in the living room; the view is almost as good inside!

Within walking distance of the condo are some fine restaurants: Beach Bums bar and Grill and Seascape Restaurant. There are also two darling little grocery stores/delis when you just need something quick and don't want to get in the car to run to the store. The Maui Ocean Center, a top-rated attraction in Hawaii (Zagat Survey's U.S. Family Travel Guide) is within walking distance too, as well as Maui Golf & Sports Park, with miniature golfing, rock climbing, bumper boats and extreme trampoline jumping. Additionally, a short walk down the road is Haycraft Park and the head of Sugar Beach, the longest continuous beach on the island, stretching from Maalaea to Kihei and a nice, quiet area with calm water. There's great snorkeling in this area due to the coral reefs located close to shore. And turtles everywhere, all year long.

Amenities of note:

* Washer and dryer in unit

* Hi-def TV's in living area and bedroom, with cable

* Hi-speed wifi internet

* ceiling fans in living area and bedroom

* iron & ironing board

* hair dryer

* beach towels and two beach chairs

So you can choose to go out to see some of Maui's fabulous attractions or stay 'home' and enjoy a day poolside or visit some of the amenities nearby. But no matter what you do, I hope you come to feel that this unit is a comfortable home away from home and that Maui no ka oi (Maui is the best)!

About Teri Ram

I live in St. Louis and try to get to Maui as often as possible. I hate to say it, but I've been coming to Maui for almost 40 years and it really is my second home. With one child in college and another not far behind, I look forward to the time when I can become a Maui snowbird and enjoy the wonderful island life for as long as possible.

Teri Ram purchased this condo in 2014

Why Teri Ram chose Central Maui

When I was in high school (a long, long time ago), my parents purchased a house in Kihei, so I spent a number of vacations on this beautiful island. My parents retired to that house in the '90s and began investing in real estate shortly thereafter. This is one of the investment properties I inherited and it's come to be my secret 'favorite'. I can virtually guarantee that you won't find any property closer to the ocean than this one. Property is not even allowed to be built this close to the water anymore! The unobstructed view of the water is unparalleled.

Amazing stay we won't forget!

  • 5 of 5

First and foremost the location of this condo is hard to beat! We made easy trips to Kihei and Lahaina on a daily basis during our stay, and came back to what always felt like our own private beach. The view from the lanai is gorgeous and it has the perfect setup for early morning breakfasts. The reports of sea turtles swimming right by the lanai are no joke! We stopped counting them after a while, they were such an abundant and reliable presence.

We definitely appreciated all the kitchen tools and utensils for cooking our own meals and making drinks, too. The only thing we missed was a kettle for tea. So we enjoyed some Maui coffee instead using the coffee maker.

The directions for accessing the condo were very helpful and we liked that there was a dedicated parking spot in a covered garage. It has a foot wash nearby for rinsing off beach sand - also super useful.

All in all it was a wonderful experience, and we are so glad to have chosen Teri's condo as our home base during our trip!

A slice of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay At Teri's condo and it was absolutely wonderful. The condo was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We would recommend this condo to those who want the sound of the ocean at you feet. There was very few people at the pool, the BBQ area was like it's your private facility. We hope to make it number 3 in a row with a next year stay.

Thank you Teri for sharing this slice of paradise

A Little Piece of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our time in this comfy condo. Nicely updated, exactly as the pictures show. Enjoyed the trade winds...no need for the a/c . The property is well maintained. Most days we shared the pool/ocean with just a few couples/families. Very quiet area which was exactly what we wanted. Beautiful beach just a 10 min. walk away. Great location, basically 15 mins. to Kahului or Kihei. When we return we will stay in this unit again.

Whale watching, sunrises and roosters Oh My!

  • 5 of 5

Bring a pair of binoculars for each person that shares this lovely condo with you because you will not want to take your eyes off the whale action happening in the waters out front! This was by far one of the highlights of our trip. We loved waking up early, pouring a hot cup of Kona coffee, watching the sun come up over the beaches near Wailea and scanning the horizon for whales. Breaching, tail slapping, and blowing, we saw it all from the lanai. No worries if you aren't there during whale season the view and sounds of the ocean are most fantastic.

The condo is lovely, the layout is easy, and the king size bed is very comfortable, the underground parking spot keeps a cool car and the location on the island is very desirable. We could easily buzz over to Lahaina, Kahului, or Kehei for dinner, groceries, shopping or tours; we could be wherever we needed to be in just a matter of minutes. After long days of sight seeing it was not uncommon for us hit up Ulani's Shaved Ice for a cold rainbow of flavors and then park at a Kehei beach to watch the stunning sunsets.

We never used the air conditioning because the cross breeze between the bedroom and living room was enough to keep us comfortable. The ocean waves lulled us to sleep, but bring earplugs because the resident rooster starts the wake up call at 6am!

Communicating with Teri regarding questions leading up to the trip was easy. She was thoughtful, helpful and quick to respond. She even sent an article about a hike she thought I might enjoy after I had inquired about hiking on Maui. We did not have any reason to reach her or any of her staff during our stay on the island.

My wife and I highly recommend staying at Teri’s condo.

I am not sure that we could find a place that offered more to please us than this awesome unit.

  • 5 of 5

We came in very late, we were happy to see it was clean and completely ready for us. When we got up we were blown away by the second floor view. The unit finishes and furniture are not current but its all in great shape. I am a builder and checked this building out, its closer to the water than all the other neighboring buildings and after 9 days concluded its the best unit location in the building. We had planned to go out for dinner a few times but we knew that nothing would compare to the awesome dinners and sights we had on the deck.

Maui had lots of great things to see and do, its hard to explain but we could not wait to get back to this unit, it has everything and then some. There is a park at the end of the street, a three minute walk and your on miles of white beach with very few people. Cancel the whale watching tour, you can see all the whales you want from the deck. Large turtles right in the shallow water in the surf below. If we came back here again I hope that this place would be available, what a gift and experience. Oh yes, the owner, if we had a question she was on it now. From one to ten this unit has blown the lid off of ten for sure.
