This is a rare opportunity to rent our second home. This is the second season listing it as an occasional rental unit in the 12 years we've owned it so you truly will find all the comforts of home in our roomy, well-appointed spacious condo with a recent renovation that includes all new stainless steel appliances, leathered granite kitchen countertops, custom cabinetry and new carpet and porcelain tile downstairs. No typical rental condo furnishings here! There's plenty of seating in the living room with a large, comfy sofa, a recliner and side chair, two barstools and a beautiful antique dining table that seats 6 sits below an antique chandelier with alabaster globes. The stone fireplace has a large hearth that doubles as a bench for a few people, too. And the views couldn't be better! A cathedral ceiling with exposed beams allows you to see it all from inside, but you can also enjoy the scenery from your private balcony. Look up the mountain to the left to see the gondola and most of the lower mountain runs, down the mountain to the gondola base, to the right to see beautiful Emerald Mountain and it's spectacular sunsets and miles in the distance, the incredible Flattops wilderness and mountain range. Comfy bedding throughout, but the master queen bed boasts a Tempurpedic mattress that will ensure the very best night's sleep after a hard day's play. Also downstairs is a queen size sleeper sofa with an upgraded mattress. Upstairs you'll find a nicely sized full bath and two bedrooms - one with a king sized bed and the other with a new set of bunk beds. No need to worry with lugging heavy skis and bulky helmets to your top floor accommodations, your private ski locker is conveniently located on the ground floor where you ski in. And once you make your way upstairs after a wonderfully long day on the champagne powder, you'll be glad to find a large bench just inside the door where you can remove and store your boots. Now for the hard decisions - take a short walk to the hot tub or call Sweet Pea Tours for a ride to Strawberry Park Hot Springs; stay in for the night and call for dinner delivery, take a free bus ride to one of the many terrific downtown restaurants or stroll to one of the fine eateries at Gondola Base; ski tomorrow, take a wildlife or gourmet snowshoe hike or go snowmobiling. Oh the choices! And if you're here for the holiday you can be assured of the most beautiful white Christmas ever, highlighted by the ski corp torchlight parade down the mountain! Feel free to put up a tree, there's plenty of room. Even the non-skiers will find there's plenty to do in Steamboat Springs!
My husband and I spend about half of each year in wonderful Steamboat Springs, CO and the other half in our home state of Alabama on beautiful Lake Tuscaloosa. We chose Steamboat as our second home because it has it all, year round - the mountain, activities, town and great people. Steamboat hasn't become so commercialized like many other resort areas and we feel that's a great part of it's appeal.
Tammy Tierce purchased this condo in 2004
The first time we visited Steamboat was in the summer of 2002 and after just one day there and having spent time in several other Colorado ski towns, I told my husband that Steamboat was my kind of place!
We feel very fortunate to have been looking for a second home when this condo became available. It has everything we needed and wanted - the views, ski-in (and only 100 steps to ski-out), very roomy and the fact that it's a corner penthouse was just icing on the cake!
We celebrated a Thanksgiving in the condo and the kitchen was well equipped. Everything you might want for a nice stay was there. It is a good hike to the lift and we didn't have much snow for ski-in - and this area isn't served by the shuttle. So we had to be dropped off and picked up. Being there was still great. We can see the lift; the view of the village all lit up. We enjoyed our stay very much.
I haven't even left yet and I need to write this!
Wow - this Is a a fabulous rental!
This is a fifth floor, corner unit with stunning views!
I love to cook - I baked artisan sourdough bread in this oven! (I did need to bring my bannetons and DO)
I cooked most meals here because it has such a great kitchen.
You will find this unit thoughtfully furnished and comfortable. Tammy does not skimp on necessities.
Love the temperpedic bed in main floor bedroom - it's what I'm used to so we slept very well!
Tammy is great to work with - very accommodating!
I'm already planning another trip!
Kids, parents and grandparents all had wonderful stay. Rooms are well appointed and have comfy beds. The kitchen was well supplied and had new appliances. New snow topped it off for some of the best skiing we've ever had. Highly recommended, we'll be back!
Storm Meadows is everything it's advertised to be: spacious, convenient to the slopes and gondola square, comfortable and well provisioned. Our three generations of skiers had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this location for families looking to enjoy all that Steamboat has to offer.
My family and I stayed here over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. It's a great value for the location and views the views. The kitchen is great if you're planning on cooking and had everything we needed to even go all out for our Thanksgiving meal. Tammy was a pleasure to work with and her on-site contact was helpful as well.
We spent Christmas 2014 and the condo is exactly as listed! We have enjoyed ourselves tremendously! The owner is easily reachable and very pleasant to deal with.
I highly recommend this condo. C. M. from California
The Storm Meadows Area is convenient to most everything and the town of Steamboat Springs has it all! Our true ski-in, 100 steps to ski out, 3 bedroom, 2 full bath corner unit penthouse offers walking access to gondola base where you can find everything from casual dining to fine restaurants, equipment rental, lift tickets, bars, music, shopping and more. Gondola Base was recently remodeled to include outdoor seating areas with fire pits where you can enjoy a hot (or cold) beverage while taking in the gorgeous views of the mountains and gondola or listening to the sounds of some of the terrific musicians and bands that frequent this venue. And if you need a day off from the slopes or other activity you may have a hard time deciding whether to schedule a massage, call Sweet Pea Tours for a short van ride to the incredible Strawberry Park Hot Springs (where you'll find a series of natural stone lined pools of varying temperatures fed by a natural mineral water source), go on a snowmobile tour at Rabbit Ear's pass, enjoy a gourmet snowshoe hike to the inviting atmosphere and scrumptious food at Ragnar's on the mountain or shop for items you won't find anywhere else. Other must-experience sights and activities include a visit to the spectacular Fish Creek Falls (you may even get to see a climber or two on the frozen waterfall!) or a hot air balloon ride that will treat you to indescribable views of the Yampa Valley and surrounding mountains and ranges. There's something for everyone in Steamboat, whether you're a skier/snowboarder, fly fisherman, kayaker, hiker, cross country skier or snowshoer, adult or child. All of this and much more is what convinced us to make Steamboat Springs our second home.
