About the property

Unique, private, enchanted, serene home with Anthropologie decor, close to town

Our 'country home' is completely private from any neighbors, surrounded by lush forests full of walking trails, a babbling creek, owls and more. And yet, it's just minutes away from downtown Redmond, home of industry leaders including Microsoft and Nintendo. You can relax here, slipping into the world of nature, while knowing the nearest Starbucks and COOP market is just 1 mile away. Also just 5 miles from downtown Redmond and 6 miles from Woodinville's winery district. During the season, head to Cirque Du Soleil, or The Concerts at Chateau St. Michelle, both only a few minutes away.

This is one of the quietest places in the Seattle metro area, great for artists, writers, musicians, or professionals who want some quietude after a workday or conferences in the busy city. The house was built in the 1980's with very modern amenities and purposely has a classic, retro look to resemble a french country cottage, albeit with modern, clean polish inside. It has been a non-smoking, no pet home. Shoes are always kept outside : )

The Downstairs has a beautiful luxury kitchen with all Viking appliances, including 2 ovens, extensive granite counter tops and new updated cabinets, looks onto lounge area that has large windows and a wood burning fireplace. Dining room with french doors that access a very large wrap-around deck and beautiful views of the creek, woods and clean skies.

Living room has a cozy gas fireplace, and ceiling projector perfect for screening movies, TV or internet. Most of the floorspace is hardwood floors. Powder room, laundry/supplies room, and a studio office room with carpeted floor, office supplies and ethernet connections. To encourage aversion from screen time, cable and wi-fi are not enabled in this house, (Wi-Fi is available per request only), and there are no TVs.

Upstairs is a large master bedroom with a king bed and new, organic mattress. Master bath includes marble floor and walls surrounding an extra large jacuzzi tub, and walk-in closet. Also upstairs are 'Jack and Jill' bedrooms connecting to a large, sunny, and newly remodeled bathroom. One room has a queen bed, and the other has a bunk bed (upper has rails for child) with a new, organic mattress. Rooms are carpeted with nice, light beige carpet installed in fall of 2011 (and professionally washed every year).

There is a full playground set in the yard, installed in summer of 2013, plus another great big swing and tire swing for kids (and some adults) to enjoy.

Gardens, fruit trees and abundant berry bushes (yours to harvest in the summer)! Plenty of space for planting your own organic vegetables and herbs if you plan to stay through a season, as the grounds have been pesticide- and chemical-free at least since 2010. Lower garden has a fire pit and direct access to a harmonious stream (part of the property). The property is part of an important Barred Owl habitat, and they are soothingly heard most evenings. Incredible trees and a steady wildlife thrives here, so, mindful and responsible exploration of the outdoor space is appreciated.

About Christian

A native of Mexico City, I spent my childhood in central Germany, and later lived in New Zealand and Sweden. With this sort of upbringing, I became culturally sensitive and learned to do things I love, as well as love in return everything I've been surrounded by. For work, I provide Improvement solutions in the Automotive Manufacturing industry, a career which created in me a keen eye for exceptional practices, essentialism, and creating smooth logistic flows and impeccable work environments. This has been applied in many ways in my life, with a house being no exception. Let me welcome you to what I call quaint, heavenly living. Thank you!

Wonderful Thanksgiving Week

  • 5 of 5

The house and host were outstanding, we all enjoyed our visit! It was the perfect place for us while visiting with family in the Seattle area and having a place of our own to relax and enjoy our vacation. We will definitely plan to check on availability next time we are in the area. Thank you for your great hospitality and for making our stay so pleasant.
