What makes this townhome unique

This is a private neighborhood with children that do go to school. The bus picks up two blocks down from the townhome just go out the front door turn left to the next street Brasilia then right go down two blocks. Across the street from the entrance of the cemetery is an open air fresh meat, chicken, veggies, tortillas, seafood and etc open air market. At the market on the corner you can catch the bus to downtown. There is a fare for the bus for only .75 cent each way. Or if you leave the townhome and turn right two units down is a white two story home with a metal gate. It's my neighbors that are two brothers they are taxi drivers and you can schedule trips or acquire their services. They are fair and honest on their taxi fare prices. Or walk to the end of the street up the little slope to the main road and the bus to old Vallarta picks up there. Or cross the street on the main road and down about a football fields distance is the bus stop which goes anywhere north towards the airport. Including Pitial, marina, mall, airport going north to any other coastal towns north on Banderas bay right were the first street light signals are you will see a bench at the bus stop.

I stayed for a week in May 2016. A really nice place. Spacious rooms especially the bedrooms. An incredible rooftop terrace with views of the ocean and downtown. Kitchen is nicely equipped. Has a wonderful feel in the living room with the outdoor patio area feeling like it is part of the interior space when you open to two large sliding glass doors. The neighbors are very nice and helpful. It is an easy ride on the bus to get into the old part of town and the Malecon shopping district. There is a nice farmers market only a few blocks away with fresh seafood and produce. Thank you to the owner for his help and knowledge of the area.

Convenient house near the Malecon

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Casa Anna Maria for the first week of 2017. We had an amazing time. We loved that every room has a bathroom attached, so when we were getting ready there were no issues. The house is nice, roomy, and in a great location. The owner and the neighbor of the property were very helpful, responsive, and accommodating. The beach as well as the Malecon are in walking distance. We walked everywhere in order to shed off all the food we were eating, but you could also take the bus. The location of the house was good because it was near a landmark that made it easy to find and get to with a taxi. Also, a nearby neighbor is a taxi and he can pick you up and drop you off at the airport if you schedule it ahead of time. We had a great time and were very comfortable with our stay.

Great Place. Better than the pictures

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over New Years with our 2 young children and their grand parents. The rooms were spacious with nice air conditioning. There was a roof top balcony where we hosted a number of friends for an evening dinner overlooking the street. Every room had a nice bathroom that made getting ready for the day easy. The wifi was easy to setup and faster than I expected for Mexico. A nice selection of DVD's was in the house to keep the kids entertained on those "sleep in" mornings.

We like to rent instead of going to a hotel because we can all be together and the money you save from eating just a few meals at home will cut your vacation down dramatically. Especially if you eat in the tourist places.

It is about a 15 minute walk to the Malecon and if you haven't stayed in a local Mexican neighborhood your first thought might be thinking trouble. However this is not the case. This is where people work. There are corner stores everywhere and the people are super friendly. I've stayed in this area 4 times and my friend lives close by for years and has never had even one remote cause for concern. Even walking home half cut at 3 in the morning which happened a couple times :)

Funny thing, My mom was not impressed by the cleanliness of the place when we arrived. It was totally fine. However the next place we were staying at mistakenly had us double booked. Luckily we were able to stay an extra day and Rik even gave us a discounted rate for the extra night. Thinking we were leaving the previous day my wife and mom cleaned the house top to bottom. The owner of the next place felt bad so he had his maid come over the day after the cleaning my Mom and wife did. They were blown away by how thorough the maid was. She cleaned where they didn't even think about cleaning. And the new people who arrived after us still complained. Some people

The resorts have so many rules about who you can bring back. I'm on vacation I want a little freedom. Having your own place gives you that freedom and will save you money. My mom is 60 and had foot surgery a couple years ago and walking was fine for her and the rest of us. Walking was the best part about it. We ate what we wanted, drank what we wanted, and I lost 8 lbs on my vacation. What a way to start the New Year.

The only improvement I would say would be nice would be if the showers had a little more pressure. Everyone showering at the same time was a bit weaker than I'm used to.

Wonderful time in this beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved staying in this great house off the beaten tourist path, yet accessible to any part of town. We loved walking the neighborhood each day, and getting to know (or at least recognize) many of the shopkeepers and neighbors. We felt very safe and oftentimes walked to and from the Malecon each day. The house is spacious with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We traveled with our three children, ages 6, 8, and 10, and their favorite part was passing a local bakery each day and getting fresh donuts on our walk home from the days' activities. My husband and I especially loved walking to the fish/vegetable/fruit market every morning 2 blocks away and getting unbelievable prices on excellent seafood and tons of fresh fruit and veggies.

We loved out stay at Casa Anna Maria and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of authentic Puerto Vallarta. We would definitely stay at this house again if we return to Puerto Vallarta. Thanks, Rik!

Couldn't be Happier!

  • 5 of 5

My wife & I, and our two children traveled to PV this year, a decision we will cherish forever. Quite simply, what an amazing rental home…very spacious, clean, cozy, and well cared for. Nice full sized modern Kitchen with all the amenities you will ever need. Each of the 3 bedrooms are large, and have their own onsite bathroom. Also, having a washer and dryer was perfect for a family of four. In the late afternoon we opened the 2 sliding glass doors, turned on the ceiling fans, and it kept the down stairs nice & cool. Late in the evening after the kids went to bed, my wife & I would make margarita's and sit out on the back patio. You are close to downtown PV, which was easily accessible by bus, taxi, and/or within a 10-15 minute walk to the beautiful waterfront (Malecon). Very close to down town, shops, great restaurants, and the night life. A large market (grocery) is only a few minutes walk away, which was perfect. Nice quite neighborhood, very family oriented, and friendly neighbors. The entire family had an amazing time in PV. The only negative about this whole trip, was that we had to leave such an AMAZING HOME and beautiful Puerto Vallarta! We are already looking forward to our next adventure vacation in PV, and we will most definately stay here agin!

We cleaned and picked up after ourselves, leaving the house as clean as when we arrived. We had been in contact with the owner via email several times prior to our departure, and once after our return home. We thanked him for the use of his home during our stay in PV; the owner was in contact with us both before & after our trip, and was very nice and thoughtful. Within a short period of time, we did receive our $300 deposit back in full. As long as we keep coming back to PV, this home is where we will choose to stay!

Great rental

  • 5 of 5

Family really enjoyed the rental. Nice amenities including full modern kitchen complete with blender for margaritas. LOVED the fact we could open both large sliding glass doors onto back patio for extra living space and enjoyed sitting out there. Another plus for us was that all bedrooms includes a large personal dressing area with huge built in closets and full bathrooms in each bedroom. All three bedrooms have their own heater/air conditioner unit in the room so that everyone could have their own personal comfort level. The powder room on the main floor was also nice. The house was extremely clean and the neighbor checked on us twice during our stay to make sure we were ok and if we needed anything. We were close to bus route, taxis, and walking distance to town and the waterfront. Would absolutely stay here again. We were a little concerned after reading a previous review but had none of the issues they encountered and received a prompt refund of our refundable deposits. The radio worked fine and even provided mood music for salsa dancing. The full size washer and dryer in the house were also a very big bonus for me. Each bedroom had a nice deck attached and the rooftop area provided a nice area to relax and enjoy stunning views of the area. All of the neighbors were friendly but respected our privacy. My only complaint and it is not so much a complaint as a request is that it would be nice to have a barbecue on the back patio. As I stated before we loved the property and are already planning our next visit. One last note although we did not rent a car this trip there is a private, fenced, locked parking space directly attached to the front of the property. Nice bonus.
