Big, beautiful, well-appointed house!

  • 5 of 5

We've rented houses all over the place, and this one was one of our favorites. It was a two-family meet up; four adults and three teenagers. The four en-suite bedrooms were perfect. Plenty of bathrooms, TVs(including the teenage boy-friendly game setup) comfy (if not on the firm side) beds, and practically individual climate control for each bedroom. The kitchen is HUGE, and had every single thing we could have wanted—multiple stoves and sinks, multiple coffee makers, even multiple crock pots! Plenty of lounging room in the living room, or on the huge screen porch, or out in the air-conditioned gazebo. I'd say the only "downside" is out of their control--the lake itself. Don't get me wrong—It's a great area for fishing. We caught probably 20 small bass and bream. All too small to keep, but great fun to catch and throw back. Fishing from the end of the dock, our lines would get hit within seconds of putting them in the water, every single time we used live worms (not so much on artificial bait). But, it's not a great place for swimming. The water is murky and full of Lilly pads and long grass. Again, not something that would keep us from renting again, but something good to know if that's 100% your intent. If you've ever been to Guntersville, you get it. Areas of the lake can be very marshy. But to satisfy our need to get in (and on) the water, we took a short 10 minute drive over to Jackson Park, and for a pretty reasonable fee, rented jet skis for the teenagers for the day and a pontoon for the grown ups. It was a great way to spend the day, and the perfect way to see more of the lake. All-in-all, a magnificent trip. And we can't wait to go back.

Big group...Wet weekend...No problem!

  • 5 of 5

Rented Camp Jackson because of the size. We were going to have about 30 people out to celebrate a friends upcoming wedding. Knew I needed a place that would support that many people if it rained. No problem!!! It was wet...we had at least 30 people...and the party went off without a hitch! More than enough room for those that had a little too much drink to stay the night. We did rely very heavily on the kitchen...huge! Two sinks really helped with clean up. the kitchen had everything you could ever want...very well stocked! Overall great place for a big group! We will be back!

Law from KY

The group I travel with has been going fishing at this lake for 14 years. We have stayed at camp Jackson for the past 3 years. I have never found a cleaner nor more acomedating lodging in all my travels. We have become good friends with the owner and those who conduct business for him. If you are looking for a place to stay then stop now and book it. Even on the bad weather days where fishing is a no go out group of 12 has plenty of space to kick back play cards watch tv and never be cramped up. You will not find nicer people that go out of their way to make your trip the best. Thank you Chandra for all that you do and thank you Jim for having such a place for us to unwind and relax. We shall see you next year if not sooner.

Beautiful Lake House

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family, 10 people, spent a wonderful weekend at Camp Jackson. It's a spacious and very well kept house. Our favorite room was the air/conditioned enclosed gazebo that looked out at the lake. We had a great time tubing and riding in the pontoon boat that was available to rent at the property!
