About Tom Traywick
Tanne and I were born and raised in the SC low country. Escaping the summer heat by traveling to the mountains of WNC was something we always enjoyed. We moved to this area when Tanne retired after 28 years as a teacher. I am now retired from my consultancy as a funding compliance analyst for public school districts.
Tom Traywick purchased this House in 2013
Why Tom Traywick chose Dunns Rock
We had been offering Our Mountain House (VRBO Listing #410757) since 2009; and when we discovered this property in 2013 we instantly realized how well it would fit into our game plan. We dubbed it Our Sunday House and here it is for you.
What makes this House unique
It is bright, open, airy; in a very quiet neighborhood; and a pleasant walk to town.

We've been coming to Brevard NC from Canada for 4 years as our son received a lacrosse scholarship . Tom's house is hands down the nicest we've come across. Our last visit was for 2 weeks and it truly felt our home away from home. He has provide everything you'd need to enjoy your time there. A fresh bowl of fruit was there upon our arrival.
This is a must property to rent if you're staying in Brevard. There was not even 1 thing to improve on.

Thank you Diane,
We are so happy that you were please.

Quaint and Quite
We loved the Sunday House. All the amenities you will ever need are provided. House is on a quite street and a 15 minute walk to downtown. A white squirrel lives right behind the house (Brevard is known for its white squirrels). We arrived there on 3 motorcycles and all fit comfortably in the garage. We definitely recommend this property.
Excellent choice in deciding to book this home VRBO
Beautiful fully equiped just like being in your own home. Very clean, neat and organized. So very comfortable! Having a fenced in yard was definitely a plus with pets allowed to stay in the home. Our two “pups” were loving every minute of it being able to explore the property with our supervision. This home is situated in the perfect spot for out of town visitors and some privacy. The only disappointment was we had to leave 3 days early due to a sudden illness of my husband. Drove 600+ miles to get close to his Dr. and our hospitals. Wish we could have stayed but hopefully we’ll be back and rent the same home. We loved it!!
Would stay there again
Cozy and inviting.
Rental property is well outfitted, including an outdoor gas grill. Home owner was very easy to work with. Property is very charming. Would rent this property again.
Great house for visiting Brevard area with your four legged friends!
Stayed in Our Sunday House for 4 nights. The location is wonderful - just minutes from downtown Brevard and Brevard College. House is very very clean and comfortable. We have an older dog and the ranch layout was wonderful since he can really no longer do stairs very well. The fenced in front yard was a huge bonus. All the bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs are very nicely appointed with everything you would need. Plenty of extra linens and towels in hall closet. Beds were very comfortable. Living room area is also very comfortable with seating for many and a nice large TV with satellite. Kitchen has every thing you would need to fix large meals for a group. Although the weather was not great for the back porch I can see how it would be very inviting. The washer and dryer in the basement are a great perk as well. The owners were easy to work with and they did provide a delicious loaf of home made bread on our arrival. Would definitely recommend this house!!
Music, arts and dining in Brevard and Asheville (30 minutes) are terrific. We are an hour from Greenville SC, 2 hours from Charlotte NC and 3 hours from Atlanta.
The Brevard area includes the highest concentration of waterfalls in the world, over 100,000 acres of public parks and forests (public lands such as Caesar’s Head State Park, Jones Gap State Park, duPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, and Gorges State Park), and the internationally acclaimed Brevard Music Center.
And the Brewery Tour at Oskar Blues is worthy if you are so inclined - and ride their free trolley service from Brevard to Asheville. The Sierra Nevada Brewery is a destination for dining and the brewery tour.
