Sundial B217 - a SkyRun Park City Property

SkyRun Vacation Rentals, an industry leader perfecting the art of vacation home management.

This beautiful ski-in/ski-out suite in Sundial Lodge is located in the heart of Canyons Resort. Only 30 minutes from Salt Lake City (SLC) International Airport, this location is ideal for your next vacation to Park City, Utah

This cozy mountain retreat sleeps 4 in a private king bedroom and a pullout couch in the living room while providing guests with a full kitchen and in room laundry. We have just bought a new American Leather sleeper sofa in the living room. It has no bars or springs and is super comfortable.

Also included is a fully equipped kitchen, large flat screen tv's, fireplace, private balcony, full bathroom with jetted tub, in room laundry, iron, wireless internet, stereo & on demand movies.

Just steps from the Canyons Resort, Red Pine Gondola, guests can easily experience Utah's world class skiing and snowboarding. The resort offers 19 lifts connecting 182 runs and no shortage of mountain terrain to enjoy. And for your convenience, the resort offers plenty of shops and restaurants within a few steps of your condo. There are plenty of other outdoor winter activities like sledding, sleigh rides, snowshoeing and tubing to try while you're here. Sundial guests are welcome to enjoy our rooftop hot tub, year round heated outdoor pool, bon fire area, ski locker and fitness center.

While Park City has many recreational activities for the winter and summer alike, the town also offers great shopping, fine dining, spas and festivals. Late January Park City hosts the annual Sundance Film Festival which draws crowds from all over. During the summer, Park City is the host for the Tour De Utah bike race and mountain biking championships. If you'd rather stay in, many local restaurants offer delivery service to the lodge. Located on site is complementary underground parking, a free city bus and private shuttle that operate regularly to provide Sundial guests access to the greater Park City area. All guests at the Sundial are welcome to use these amenities.

The bus stop for the #6 Lime Line on the free Park City bus system is in front of the Grand Summit lodge.

Check out Smiths Grocery Store Ski and Shop option. Combine with Canyon shuttle which lets you stop for the groceries on the way up. You can place your order beforehand and then when you arrive, simply stop by the Smiths on the way up the canyon and your groceries will be already scanned, bagged and ready to just pay and go. Great time saver.

We look forward to welcoming you to Park City!

We LOVE Sundial!

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed at The Sundial on multiple occasions. The location is fabulous and the ski check is wonderful. The rooftop hot tub is great with a lovely view of the slopes, however, one day when it was snowing the tub was not even warm ( I know it is hard to keep a tub hot with snow falling into it but I have certainly enjoyed a very hot tub in the snow at other locations)

Our unit was nicely furnished and comfortable, however, it could use more dishes. Our family of 4 likes to cook and we had to run the dishwasher between every meal in order to have enough plates to eat off of. A few extra towels would have been nice also ( I thought we were supposed to have linen service at least once during our one week stay but we just washed the 4 towels we had) It was wonderful to have a washer and dryer in the room for wet ski clothes!

We plan to return to the Sundial possibly as soon as next month !

Beautiful condo and beautiful place

  • 4 of 5

Overall our stay was wonderful! The bathtub didn't drain very well and we needed a few more kitchen towels, but both are easy fixes!

Nice spot for ski conveniences, but facility lacking.

  • 3 of 5

This was our first time here at Canyons, and wanted a condo to make it nice for all. As I write this I am currently listening to a screaming child and parents talking way too loud in the unit next door. The reason I can hear them so well is that the ducting/ventilation system allows for transmission of every word said into this unit. This also goes for the venting of what must have been enough bacon cooked to feed the entire complex. The unit itself is acceptable, but there are a few updates needed: the fold out beds are horrible and our son ended up sleeping on the floor on the couch pillows instead. There is very limited space to stash your clothing, so we ended up keeping everything in our suitcases, so some additional shelving/dressers would be helpful. On the day we arrived, we had to go to the store to purchase drain-o to get the bathtub drain to not take 40 minutes to drain. The washer and dryer in the unit are noisy when operating, so plan ahead if you want to do wash at night. There is one question that we did have: how can the unit be ski-in-ski-out if you cannot take your skis and ski boots up to the room? The facility's check-in team did not make it easier on us by issuing keys that had the wrong check out date several times, so we had to go get 'new' keys. Overall, we were happier that we had good skiing conditions and did not have to spend many hours in the condo itself.

Owner's Response: Hi David, Thanks for taking the time to send us a review. Let me tell you that as we speak I have ordered a new mattress for the sofa bed. I'm surprised that you didn't use the onsite ski concierge that we pay for to have our guests able to keep their skis and boots in a secure heated area in the lobby. I'm sorry the front desk had trouble with your room keys I know that is frustrating. We hope you will join us again in the Canyons. all the Best. Michael

Average unit in Sundial Lodge

  • 3 of 5

Sundial Lodge is a nice property right at the base of Park City (formerly Canyons) ski area. I've stayed in the complex several times and in different units, from a 3 bedroom condo to a studio. You can probably find details about the complex in other reviews - this one focuses on this particular unit. This unit is average. The pictures are either not the unit or it's been updated since the pictures (for example, there's a TV over the fire place, and the dining room table is round, not square). There's no view to speak of. The kitchen is relatively sparsely equipped (for example, I could not find a cutting board anywhere - a basic staple in my opinion). The worst part is the pullout couch in the living room. It is unbelievably uncomfortable. I ended up taking every comforter and blanket I could find and put down on top of it in order to make it usable.

In my opinion, the unit is average and good for 2-3 people (depending on the sleeping configuration) for a few nights. You can do some basic cooking in the kitchen. Pricing is cheaper than going through the resort's official website, and overall a decent value.

Owner's Response: Hi Marcus, I''m sorry that the mattress was poor. we are ordering a new one for this spring. I know that doesn't help your visit, but maybe if you come back you will know that the mattress will be new and more comfortable. All the Best, Michael

Nice room

  • 4 of 5

Nice property. Many units have no view. Helpful staff except for no response from bell-service at time for checkout

Ski valet staff was good.

Although it is "ski in ski out" it is a long walk from the actual unit to the lifts.

Fitness center has no windows and smelled musty

Owner's Response: Hi Luis, thanks for taking the time to leave us some notes. I will follow up with the bell staff about your comment. This unit does indeed have a nice view and walk out patio. I hope you will come visit us again. Michael, SkyRun Park City
