Why Ray chose Sellwood District
I have lived in Sellwood for over 10 years and want to share (show off) this great neighborhood with other folks. At one time Sellwood was its own town, and in most ways, it still feels like it. It has a great friendly vibe of the 'old days' people are always quick with a hello or a smile. It's one of those neighborhoods you don't even need a car in - great shops, grocers, restaurants, wonderful parks, near the river, bike-friendly, pet friendly and wonderfully kept homes. Cheers!

Location, location, location and a great house!
We had a great stay at the Hop House in Sellwood. I love this neighborhood from it's tree lined streets to easy walking distance to shopping, food carts, international restaurants and parks. My daughter lived a few blocks from here and it's a safe wonderful walking neighborhood. There is even an amusement park and a park with a beach for swimming on the river just a 20 minute walk away. Or another park with a playground and an outdoor pool thats open during the summer, even closer.
The house was extremely clean and well stocked with everything you could ever imagine needing. Coffee was great with a really nice coffeemaker. There was even a "junk" drawer with tape, a few tools, batteries etc, that made me feel right at home! It had motion sensor nightlights through out the house for safety at night, which I really appreciated having visited with my 93 year old father. The beds were really comfortable with luxurious high quality sheets and comforters. Great back yard, all that was missing was a dog!
Communicating with Ray was fast and easy. I feel like I'm saying too much and will never be able to get a reservation again, but this is a great house in a wonderful neighborhood and I couldn't have had a better time.
We will defiantly be back! Thanks Ray!!
Great home- excellent location!
Clean, updated, comfy and so convenient. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks!
Beautiful House, Excellent Location
We loved this house! The owner is super accommodating, and the house is completely stocked with coffee maker, washer and dryer, dishwasher, and more! The house is walking distance to a small grocery store, restaurants and bars, and some shops like the Columbia outlet! The neighborhood felt super safe. It was nice that the house has a driveway since street parking runs out pretty quickly! Not all of these old homes have driveways. The backyard was really nice too, if the weather is nice there is a cool hammock and nice gondola to sit under. We wished we could have stayed longer, we will definitely return!
We loved this house!
We loved our stay at Ray's house! The host was great and the house was perfect for my family - husband and 2 kids. We rent houses for vacations a lot and this is definitely one of my favorites. I think it is the cleanest house I have ever stayed in. The location was great - cute neighborhood and plenty of things in walking distance including restaurants and a grocery store. We would love to stay here again in the future and definitely recommend it to others!
Great House Close to Everything
We stayed for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The house is very clean and comfortable. We were happy that there was a high chair and pack n' play for our child.
The location is amazing. The Piknik food cart pod is steps away while New Seasons grocery store is only a few more steps away. 13th Avenue (the main drag in Sellwood) is also super close. While the house is near a main street, we didn't find it to be noisy at all.
Ray, the owner, was friendly and accommodating.
The back yard is large with a hammock and gazebo when there's warmer temperatures.
We'd definitely stay here again!
Well maintained cosy and convenient cottage
This property was clean, well equipped and well maintained. We found the landlord very responsive to minor concerns and requests. Very conveniently located in a walkable neighborhood near great food store, bakery and restaurants, as well as parks and wetland preserve. We will be returning later this year.
As one of the most beautiful and friendly walkable areas in Portland, Sellwood offers as many as 20 restaurants and bars as well as Oaks park, Moreland Theater, Sellwood Park for swimming in summer, Farmers market on Wednesdays.
