Bathroom was a little small with four adults. We were never checked on to see if we needed any towels, trash taken out or any other items. The entrance to the cottage was a little awkward being in someone's backyard but it was private. The dog living in the main house does enjoy barking. The cottage was not as clean as I would have hoped. Lots of dust, cobwebs and thr filter in the A/C unit was very dirty. The staircase was very steep going upstsirs and there was not much head room on the 2nd floor. The bed downstairs was definitely broken and kept clunking when you would move around. The kitchen is not setup for cooking but just for making a quick snack. There is no dedicated parking, but you just have to find a spot on the street which wasn't a problem. The neighborhood was very beautiful and the location was close to the street car and magazine street. Overall the price was a good value when compared to a hotel in the French Quarter. I was told by the man living in the main house that the Internet was notorious for not working. The WiFi did not work the entire time I was there. The man did offer us a fresh grapefruit from the tree in the backyard which was nice though. Overall I would stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely carriage house in the beautiful Garden District of NOLA. It sits privately in the garden of a beautiful home, with everything we could ask for on our vacation. We walked down Magazine St (too many wonderful restaurants!)., we walked to the French Quarter (a longer walk), and strolled the streets of the gorgeous Garden District. Also close to the streetcar if you would rather enjoy the historic ride. The beds were extremely comfortable, our host was knowledgeable and delightful, and all around great experience. Thank you.
I booked this for a girl's weekend for three of us--it was perfect! Comfy beds, just enough kitchen for a quick breakfast, everything we needed. Nice location. Clean, with good A/C. Would stay here again for sure. For those with any trouble with stairs, though, there is only one bedroom on the first floor, and the steps up are kind of steep. Even though this is listed as a '2 bedroom' it was perfect for 3 as the upstairs loft has beds far away from each other on either end. No couch or 'living room' area, but we sat for hours at the pub table!
This rental is located in a very pretty and convenient neighborhood. It's a four block walk from the house to the St. Charles Street Car. I would say the rental would comfortably fit 4, but 5 is doable. The one bathroom between 5 people is not ideal, but my friends and I enjoyed staying here. We had a great time and hung out in the common area when we were home. If you are looking for a place with lots of communal space, I wouldn't say this is the right rental. But if you are going to be in and out most of the time, this works perfectly!
The beds were comfortable and all the sheets clean. The house when we walked in smelled great and was extremely clean. The only suggestion I have is to add a bath mat for the shower. We ended up using a towel, which developed a musky smell after our weekend.
Overall, great great place to stay. Checking in and out was a breeze.
Very clean, cute carriage house. Plenty of privacy. Great location too. We loved District donuts on Magazine street! We took Uber to WW2 museum and French Quarter and trolley to Audobon park and through garden district. Good wifi, cool AC & clean. The only drawback was downstairs bed has a bad spring and could use a memory foam topper if not replaced. Transom window above downstairs bedroom let in outside night lights too making it hard to sleep that we had to cover it. It is a nice gem though!
I had a wonderful experience. Ann was super responsive and made sure that checking in and checking out was easy. The carriage house is cozy, clean and very inviting. The location can't be beat. I didn't have a single worry and would definitely stay here again for future visits.
Located in the heart of Uptown- in the historic Garden District- steps from Magazine Street to dine, drink or shop. Also conveniently located to public transportation to view other areas of New Orleans via bus stop and street car stop.
