Our home is located up the hill on David Ave...a short 5 minute walk to the Aquarium and Cannery Row. The home was remodeled recently.

This spacious home has modern conveniences, and was built in 1991. It is located on a lot with another 2 bedroom/2 bathroom cottage (Casa Amarilla Listing #552096), which is also available as a vacation rental. For multiple family/larger group accommodations, both homes are available to rent for the same time period.

The home is approximately 1,500 square feet, 3 large bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (1 bathroom in master suite), living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, fireplace (forced air heating as well), and a fenced private patio/deck area, with partial views of the Monterey Bay. Duel pane windows/ insulated and quiet.

Wood flooring throughout. Vaulted ceilings, several skylights, recessed lighting, mirrored wardrobe doors, wifi internet, and basic cable. Private paved alley entrance, with room to park 2 unrestricted street parking as well. The alley is nice for morning/evening walks with friends, family, and dogs.

About Guita

Over the years, I have been fortunate to have rubbed elbows with some of the most talented people in the Hospitality and Real Estate professions. Little did I know these mentors would prepare me for my Vacation Rental venture this year.

I've also discovered my inner gift for interior decorating. Casa Amarilla has been a labor-of-love restoring and modernizing this quaint Monterey Cottage...a stone throw from the Aquarium.

My green thumb came back to life as well. The patio and fenced garden area has blossomed this spring, and soothes one's sole at the end of an active day. A wood burning pot belly fire-pit and charcoal BBQ enhance this spacious artistic zen-like garden, while taking in the distant Monterey Bay guests favorite!

While staying at Casa Amarilla, don't hesitate to call or text me if you and your group need anything at all!

Sincerely,

Guita

Why Guita chose Central Coast

Location, privacy and functionality were the most important factor for me to purchase this home.

What makes this house unique

Being able to walk to town in a short time was the main reason for choosing this house. The vaulted cieling of the home with sky light gives the home a cheery feeling.

Great location, layout, clean

  • 4 of 5

Good experience. Lots of art, comfortable setup. High ratings overall!

FYI natural light from skylights are great, but bring eyemasks for all guests if you want to sleep past dawn.

Areas separated by split level steps. Not wheelchair/ clutz/ drunk friendly.

Very nice house, perfect for a family stay.

  • 5 of 5

The house is walking distance to the aquarium and Cannery row. However, coming back from Cannery row is mainly up hill which could be an issue if you are traveling with the elderly. The home is beautifully decorated and very clean. My family felt very comfortable and really enjoyed the stay. There is a nice backyard garden area that is perfect for hanging out and offers a view of the ocean. The only small issue is that there is not really any parking at the house. However, it was fairly easy to find nearby street parking. I would definitely stay at this home again.

We really enjoyed our stay! It is very close to the aquarium and cannery row, as well as lots of restaurants and beaches. Perfect size home for a family trip. Would definitely recommend this home.

Quaint, cozy home close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

We rented both of her properties for a birthday and our family had a great times. More than enough space for the 10 of us between both properties, house is well stoked for all the meals we cooked, clean and very cozy. Loved the location 5 min drive to Cannery Row and central to everything. When we arrived one of the owners was there and got us all settled in. Great experience from booking all the way to check out. Thanks Guita!

Disappointing - dirty and obviously lived in

  • 2 of 5

This is the email my sister sent to the owners, which we never received a response to. In addition, she didn't even refund our full deposit, let alone acknowledge the state of the home when we got there. I would not recommend this property, despite its proximity to downtown. You're better off staying in a clean hotel.

Good evening,

I am writing regarding our recent stay in your Monterey rental property. We had a lovely weekend and it was a perfect location. However, I wanted to bring up a few things rather than write a public review.

The house was not in a very clean state when we got there. We were disappointed to find the refrigerator was full of food. We brought food for our group for the weekend and were not able to fit it all in the fridge. As we attempted to rearrange, we realized much of it was rotten and smelly (including moldy vegetables and curdled milk. . . ) We had to clean much of it out ourselves.

We overlapped with your daughter who mentioned that she had just finished cleaning the house, though it was difficult to tell when we arrived. The floors were quite dirty, to the point that our feet turned black if we walked around barefoot, and the rugs were in need of vacuuming. The bathroom sinks also did not appear to be recently cleaned. The trash bins out front were nearly full and there were ants in the kitchen.

I was also not aware that the other cottage mentioned to be on the lot actually shared walls with our rental. That was very misleading, especially since windows have a direct view to the patio where we were expecting to have privacy.

I feel the cleaning fee should be refunded in addition to receiving the damage deposit back and possibly a partial refund for our stay. Though the house is beautiful and the location ideal, it was not up to the standards of a vacation rental for a family vacation at the price we paid.

I would greatly appreciate your response in this matter, as well as when I can expect to receive my deposit back.

Not long enough.

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time at the Casa!!! Nice house lots of room and a great patio area! There's a tiny view of the Ocean to top it off. We would recommend this to any one looking for a family get away. Not just 1 or 2 people, take the whole family!!! There's plenty of room. Everything you would expect in your own house is right there. To top it off the owner is friendly and very helpful, if you need something they are there to please! I would recommend staying longer than we did, 2 days isn't enough!!!!!
