Extremely disappointing!!!

I'm not sure where to begin. I wish I could up load pictures so you can see the state the property is currently in. The pictures in the listing are NOT current! The property is in a beautiful location but the property hasn't been adequately maintained.

So it starts out with a text from the owner at 3:15PM asking what time we will be at the property, I replied 4PM (the check in time). The silence... We get to the property and there is maintenance occurring, tarps on the floor, painting and patching of walls and ceilings, doors open and it's hot as hell. I call the owner and he assures me they will be done in 30 minutes and tells me this is because they were delayed by a late check out from the previous guests. We then begin to look over the property, wish i could just upload pictures but here goes... the bed in the master suite had hair between the sheets, dead roaches on the floor in the dining area, all the air vents were caked with dust, the one ceiling fan in the kitchen was so caked with dust we didn't dare turn it on, outdoor ceiling fans were missing blades and showing exposed wire, water leak in the smaller master suite was discovered on our last morning, mold and mildew was present, ants in several rooms, air in the main living space ran the entire weekend and NEVER got the room below 83, air in the upper part of the house was not functioning correctly either, dead roaches in the central vacuum outlets, couldn't use the jet ski lift as it was completely rusted away. I called the owner and he assured me the sheets had been changed and that the AC worked. He the said he'd send the maid back out to remake the bed. Two and a half hours into our stay we're thinking we need to ditch this place but this rate a night we should expect more! Called the owner back and said if a maid didn't arrive I wanted to make alternate arrangements to accommodate our family. He hung up the phone and promptly texted be back that he does do well with blackmail! I then called HomeAway and reported the property, immediately there were two maids on the way, and a pest control person would visit at 10am the next day. At this point we decided to stay, with 7 adults and 6 kids and out a chunk of change we really didn't have an option.

SO in conclusion BUYER BEWARE! The property is run down and is in desperate need of maintenance. My advice is find another rental!

Unbelievable view - with some downsides

Our family recently stayed at this house for four nights in mid July 2017 four our annual family reunion. Our family comes to Sarasota each and every July and are looking for a long term rental home for our family members to be able to stay under one roof. While there were positives to this house, it was unfortunately not what we had expected nor will we stay here again.

The positives -

1) Being right on the inlet, the view is gorgeous as advertised and the pool was clean and was a lot of fun for the children to have their own pool.

2) The layout of the house is a positive as there is plenty of space to spend time together for a large family of 12-15 including a large kitchen.

However, the house is not in good repair. Let me detail the negatives below.

The negatives -

1) The overall cleanliness of the house was less than acceptable. As an example, after pulling the covers down on the day of arrival, there was a hair on top of the sheets in the second bedroom. TThis house could benefit from a very deep cleaning, more than whatever is currently being done.

2) Each time there was a heavy rain, the second level had multiple water leaks evidenced by the many water spots on the ceiling. One of the days we were here, there were puddles of water on the wood floors. There also was a leak near the entrance to the master bedroom.

It appears that the minimum amount of money has been spent to upkeep the house for maintenance over the last few years. For example, the balcony on the second floor was uneven and slanted at an angle, causing an unsafe feeling about the sturdiness of the design / structure.

3) The toilet in the second bedroom never worked while we were here and was a challenge for the women. We reached out to the owner about this issue on our first day who explained that a part for the toilet was on order and would be here in one to two days. But the toilet remained broken during our stay. It would have been nice to know that this was broken before our arrival.

4) There were no kitchen trash bags and not enough toilet paper. We went out and bought both of these. Not a big deal but surprising that these were not available.

5) The garbage disposal did not work.

Overall, this place has a great location with a private pool, but the interior has seen better days.

Great Location, Beautiful Home, As Advertised.

Great Location overlooking Siesta key's intercoastal water. Huge house, 3 story, 5+ Bedrooms all en-suite each had its own bathroom.

Views of the water from each bedroom, Living room and dining room.

Comfy beds, high end linens and a very relaxing Jacuzzi tub were just perfection.

The property is in a great location. We rode our jet skis during the day and then using the nice bikes they leave for guests in the garage, we biked the short distance to the beach to watch the sunset.

It is a short drive to grocery stores, restaurants, banks etc.

Everything you could need is close by.

In all fairness we did not experience any traces of squirrels or rodents as indicated by one review, only views of dolphins playing in the water.

Absolutely amazing service. We stay in properties around the country and this property is on the top of our list. We will definitely be returning.

Fabulous Home!

We were visiting Sarasota for a family wedding week.

This home was all that the description depicted and more.

The grand entrance and view of the intercoastal was peaceful and inviting.

Everyone had their own bedroom and bath - which was perfect with all the festivities we attended.

The home was comfortable, stocked with everything you need, including bikes!

We enjoyed the beach and then coming back to a pool and view of the dolphins playing in the inter-coastal waterway.

The property managers were quick to respond when we had a question.

Perfect home for a wonderful getaway!!

Perfect Location

Was a beautiful location right on the Inter coastal. Seen Dolphins and was Beautiful. But the house has RATS!!!! Seen them and they ate some of our food on the cupboard. Would not recommend this place at all.

Owner's Response: Totally unfair depiction in order to revenge for not getting money back. Not wise to leave food outside by the open water. It's open Inter-coastal, there will be squirrels and rodents. Like all multi-million dollar water front homes, we have service that guarantees pest free property. I have no problem having my own family and friends stay there. For every one complaint from guests who attempt to blackmail owners with bad review if not reimbursed money here, there are tens of happy appreciating guests.

Great space for a group, wonderful location and sunsets

We stayed at here for five nights for a trip to Sarasota to surprise my mom for her 85th birthday. Overall the space is great. Two dining rooms inside and a large table outside for dining as well. The house itself is quite spacious and comfortable, sitting at the end of a Cul de Sac and right on one of the Intercostals, so you can sit by the pool and watch the luxury yachts drift by. Very close to Siesta Key. I would say that the only down side is, it could use a good cleaning. Little things like drawer handles being missing, and small broken things here and there. (A broken toilet paper holder, broken lazy Susan, and dirty grill area for example) These things are easily fixable. Overall, these little things did not impede our stay, so if you can overlook them. It's a wonderful spot!
