Notes:
This island is known for it's ability to take you away from the hustle and bustle of life, reconnect you with nature, and provide the kayaking, fishing, and weather you need to recharge your soul. A vibrant and growing art scene, as well as the Historic Matlacha Fishing Village (where this unit is located) make for a fun trip. Even though Matlacha doesn't have beaches the way Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach do, trips to visit nearby beaches make a perfect day trip (an average 45 minutes by car). We look forward to hosting you in our vacation home!

Amazing space within walking distance to everything.

The home was wonderful. Great space and energy. Loved watching the wildlife on the canal and kayaking in the area. We could walk to shops, food and sunset. Great experience and Scott was friendly and available to answer any questions. Can't wait to return!

Fabulous in every way! Heartbroken to leave

  • 5 of 5

This stay exceeded expectations in every aspect... from ease of booking, to pre-travel communications with the host, to detailed arrival information, to quality and location of accommodations, and provided amenities. The quality of accommodations was luxurious, with charming decor, comfortable beds, high quality sheets and towels, spotless cleanliness, and well planned kitchen supplies. Soap and shampoo were even provided! The kayak and bikes were shared with adjacent rentals, but we had no problem with using them as much and when we wanted. The neighbors in the adjacent rental were also friendly and respectful. The host even provided some fishing poles as we were unable to bring ours on the plane. We didn't use the bikes, but only due to lack of time. The location is ideal...easy walking to the fishing bridge, eateries, shops, and access to the main road, although the unit itself was extermemly quiet and peaceful.

We had also stayed in the Keys this trip and would chose this location and rental for a much longer stay next time. Fishing was great in both but places but the community, location and quality of accommodations for the Matlacha stay was so much superior, we would opt to spend a much longer time here next visit.

Heartbroken to leave!

Location is good

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay 5/29-6/1. Pictures reflect the house well. Alot if amenities were there and really needed for nothing. Close to the shops, walking distance to restaurants. Scott was great and stayed in contact. Would highly recommend using the kayak provided. We started our mornings on the water. Very enjoyable and a great place to RELAX.

Open Front Door To A Fantastic Floor Plan......

  • 5 of 5

This place has all the bells and whistle's. The owners were very accommodating. We needed nothing. Enjoyed reading while looking at the water on back porch. The town is close by for shops, restaurants you can walk or ride a bike provided by the owners. There is also a Kayak to wander out in the canal. Next time we come we will stay longer. Enjoyed! Enjoyed!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic trip down to Matlacha! The house was perfect for our needs, and It was an easy walk to all the shops, restaurants and town park.

Initially we were only meant to stay a few nights, but we had so much fun that we extended our stay!

Scott was a great host, we can't wait to go back.

Wonderful, relaxing, well appointed, and charming accommodations! The breeze was constant and sitting on the outside deck watching the the sun turn pink was heavenly. We will definitely return! I give this my highest recommendation.

Car: recommended

While being a world renowned fishing village, the area is also known for excellent kayaking, emerging artists, and excellent eateries and entertainment. In less than an hour you can be scouring the beaches of Sanibel or Captiva searching for the latest shells the tide has left behind. Of course, Vida de le Isla, is all about the relaxed island life, so you'll probably like to do a lot of 'nothing'.
