Quiet secluded place, close to things to do

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed the week here with my family. I have small children and house had all the conveniences of home. New appliances, including washer and dryer (a big plus for family), was appealing. The house was very clean, a nice kitchen with all the tools you need to cook a nutritious meal. All the linens were provided, sheets, towels. There was an area outside, where you could roast marsh mellows. Our kids just liked to run around. King Street and ASU was about a 7 minute drive down the mountain. The temperature here was 5-10 degrees cooler than in Boone. In early August, we did not need air conditioning. We opened up windows and used fans. The weather did not get out of the 60's when we were there. I recommend this place for anyone needing a mountain getaway, away from the stress of city living.

I really enjoyed the cabin as this was a "girls" week-end without husbands so we could shop. However, it would have been nice to know that the downstairs unit was rented and that the parking area was to be shared. I jumped out of my skin when he knocked on the door! Also, it would have been helpful to have instructions regarding the heating unit. Hated to call but it was going to get cold.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice words. We want everyone to enjoy the house and time up there. It is never a bother to call us with any issues or concerns. Sorry about Walker needing to get knock on the door. He is a wonderful guy and watches over our property when nobody is there.

Nice Place for a Weekend Getaway

  • 4 of 5

We had a group of 4 (2 couples) and it was the perfect amount of space. The beds slept very well. One problem we did have was trying to keep the place warm. The gas logs must have been on a timer because we couldn’t get them to stay on. Also, the fire pit wasn’t what we expected. It is a great location and close to town. The place was quaint and comfy. It was perfect for our first time visiting Boone!

Cozy cottage the perfect distance from town

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was great for our family of 6. We loved being so close to all that Boone has to offer, but secluded high up in the mountain to feel like a real NC vacation. We saw deer every day we were there! Jeff was very responsive to our questions, and the cabin had everything we needed to cook meals in the evenings.

We took advantage of the short drives to check out Blowing Rock, Linville caverns, Linville Falls and Grandfather Mountain while we were there.

We would definitely plan to book the cabin again the next time we come to Boone.

The cabin is a great place to visit.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is tucked away stop a mountain. Didn't realize it was a duplex, but a policeman lives downstairs so felt protected. Only a couple negatives... Only one leather sofa and no chairs. No place to recline and relax. If more than a couple folks, you have to sit on kitchen chairs.

Beds are a little on the soft and "worn" side. But a great value for the money. We would visit again if in the area.

Great location and just what we needed.

  • 4 of 5

The location of this property was perfect for us visiting Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain and much more. All the amenities we needed were there, and the security of the police officer living on the lower level unit was a bonus for us.
