Great for skiing groups! Management company dropped the ball some.
My group of 6 and I recently stayed at this property. It was a great location, had a great view of the Keystone slopes, Mountain House Lodge was very easily walkable (about 5 min), and had plenty of space for 6 adults and their luggage. The property was clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. We were very happy with the property itself.
The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the management company operating this property. We had to wait until 4PM to check in, and even then the property was not ready for us yet. Although the room was clean, we had to forego their usual "pre check-in inspection" because they did not know when they would be able to have someone inspect it for us. Also, we had to go to Frisco, CO to check in and get our room keys. That's 20 minutes away (one-way) from the property and quite annoying. After we had checked in, we noticed that we only had 5 towels - for six people - for both the hot tub and to shower with. When we called to request more towels, the management company told us they were out of laundry and recommended we wash our 5 towels ourselves with the in-unit washer and dryer. Not quite the level of service I was hoping for with this property that we paid a lot of money for.
They did however bring 6 towels to us the next morning and that was the last of our issues with the management company. All in all, it was a good stay and we certainly enjoyed ourselves.
Thanks for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed the property, it's location and everything worked well for you. A few notes on this reservation, we did have another reservation check out the same morning as you checked in so it was a tight turn around to get everything ready for you. The pre-arrival inspection would have added an extra 20 minutes, not "they did not know when they would be able to have someone inspect," and we didn't want to delay your arrival for you. Last, on the towels, our laundry service had one of their dryers break down which delayed the return of our clean laundry. We did our best to get you extras as soon as it was possible. Thanks, John Forest, Bighorn Rentals
Great place, great location to the slopes and to the Goat and the Snake. Few complaints: We couldn't figure out how to get the gas fireplace going. Definitely a bummer when trying to dry your boots. More towels for the hot tub would have been nice (only enough for everyone to have 1 towel). Biggest complaint was that the rental agency is in Frisco. HUGE pain in the a$$ to drive back to Frisco to return our keys (first time in my life I couldn't just leave the keys at the place). Added about an hour to drive back to Denver because of back tracking to Frisco.
Thanks for the review, we're happy you enjoyed the condo and it worked well for you. It's a nice place and the location is really convenient to the slopes at Keystone. About your complaints: you need to ask some questions in the future when you rent a place. The fireplace is a little tricky in this condo, there is a control box underneath that needs to be reset every once in a while. We always check it on the pre-arrival inspection but sometimes it goes out. A quick call to the office and we could have walked you through it in about 10 seconds. We could have also brought by some extra towels for you. Last, our office is about 15 minutes away from the property, it's fine if you want to leave the keys in the condo when departing. We'll have the housekeepers bring them back after cleaning.
Good place, good location
Perfect stay for a weekend ski break- not a bad walk to Keystone lifts across the pond. Or shuttle bus but we didn't use that option.
Condo was clean, well organized, and large enough for our group of five. Kitchen provided the tools for cooking daily. Wished for a grill but made due without. No problems with anything in the condo- wifi was no issue (from an older review).
We would not hesitate to return for another visit.
Great location, not great service
This property is in a great spot for a ski vacation. Ski rentals, convenience store, breakfast place, bar and steakhouse are all near the property. The mountain house base is a 5 minute walk and river run is probably 10 minute walk. The red route bus stops right in front of this property which is very convenient.
The property itself is fine. The furnishings and bedding aren’t great but it was suitable for our crew.
Unfortunately, the wifi (which is ironically listed in all caps in the details for this property) did not work. Repeated calls to the management company did not fix the situation and zero effort was made to fix the problem during our 5 night stay. They wanted me, the customer who had already paid full price for a property which offered “WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS”, to call their tech support company.
All in all, the lack of wifi did not prevent our crew from enjoying all that Keystone had to offer. This is a great unit for anyone looking for a no frills stay in a great location. Just hope that you don’t have any plumbing issues because you’ll be calling a plumber yourself.
