Laubenstein Family Gathering
We had a wonderful week. Maresta and Rueben were very attentive to our needs. The location to the town and ocean were perfect. The pool was great. The home was very clean however some aspects are getting a bit tired. Specifically, the outdoor deck needs fixing. A number of loose boards.
Excellent care taker staff living next door. House is in need of routine maintenance (loose deck boards, broken outlets, etc...). Knowing all this, I would still stay here again. Location is perfect!
Casa Del Sol has amazing and luxurious outdoor verandas, complete with comfy chairs, tables for enjoying outdoor eating or games, kayak, paddle board, peddle boat and pool toys and floats. The pool is kept pristine and offers unmobstructed ocean views just steps from the water.
The layout of the interior is open with private rooms and a suite just off the main living areas. The kitchen is small and could use some love (Sharp knives and more cutting boards, food Storage containers with lids, more light, and a dishwasher with a door that does not require one to hold it open with a leg while loading). The living room furniture, while stylish, is lacking in support and should probably be replaced.
Having said that, all 7 of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it for large groups looking for privacy and beautiful surroundings.
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself and that CDS and it’s staff made you comfortable. This has been a non stop year for us with less then 7 open days without guests . We have ordered new living room furniture which should arrive by end of August when we quiet down
I’ll have the staff check out the dishwasher immediately and we furnish storage bins for food but guests bring them on excursions and the disappearing pear . I will order replacements and make sure all utensils are sharpened . Thank you for your patronage
Great location nice house
Our family of 7 had a vacation of a life time. Perfect location to use the ocean and the rain forest. We were never board. Lovely town lovely locals. House was very nice but could use some new furniture in living room. House manager Ruben and his wife were awesome. Pool was perfect
Thank you for the complimentary review
New living room fiurniture for both living rooms has been ordered and on its way from Miami
It just takes so long to ship and clear customs
I’m glad you had a great time
Paradise in Placencia, Belize
Welcome to paradise! This was our first stay at Casa del Sol in Placencia, Belize and it exceeded our expectations. The caretakers of the house were extremely hospitable, accommodating, and catered to us all week. The house is very clean, comfortable, and updated with new technology. There was plenty of room in the house for our large party and each bedroom had its own flatscreen TV and bathrooms so it offered some privacy too. There are two kitchens with stainless steel appliances, washer dryer on premises, and blowdryers and toiletries in all the bathrooms. The property is right on the beach and there is a beautiful pool. The lower level of the house has a flatscreen tv with couches and two tables to eat meals outside. This was great for lounging and having a barbecue at sunset. There are hammocks to enjoy in the house and on the beach and paddle boards and kayaks. We went paddle boarding a few times and kayaking to watch the sunrise. We went on a snorkeling tour to Silk Caye and the boat picked us up right on the beach in front of the house. That was awesome service! The location of the house in Placencia is priceless! The house is walking distance to the village which makes it convenient for restaurants and bars. It's also walking distance to the famous Turtle Inn, which is a magnificent hotel for wine tasting, restaurants, and spa. Overall, the pool, beach and all the amenities included with this property were perfect for a week of fun and relaxation. Staying here offered the best of both worlds, service like a resort and the privacy of a beach house. I would highly recommend Casa del Sol and can't wait to return again!
In many ways the Placencia Peninsula presents a microcosm of the best Belize has to offer. Over twelve miles of untrammeled golden beaches look out onto scores of enchanting cayes, the barrier reef and beyond that the pristine atolls. It’s an ideal base for amazing diving and snorkeling – including our famous whale sharks, as well as world class fly fishing and trolling. But marine attractions are only half the story. Across the Placencia Lagoon via a perfectly paved road lay all the wonders of the southern mainland: the majestic Maya Mountains, cascading waterfalls, rushing rivers and the inspiring cities of the ancient Maya. Some visitors even manage to experience both surf and turf in the same day.
But the Placencia Peninsula isn’t just an attraction for the eco-traveler. The culinary tourist is in for a colorful and tasty food adventure. Fresh caught seafood is the specialty and served up as traditional fare of various ethnicities as well as more internationally inspired fine cuisine.
While the respective communities on the Placencia Peninsula have maintained their charming village appeal, the pace quickly picks up during major annual events such as the Placencia Sidewalk Arts and Music Festival in February and Lobsterfest in June. A rich multi-cultural utopia awakens in the night at local bars and clubs where free spirits can opt to dance barefoot to the rhythms of the Garifuna drums, the electrifying riffs of guitars or to the pumping dance tunes from beloved local DJs.
Whether you come by road, air or sea, the good life Placencia style is about as authentic as it gets. Barefoot Perfect.
