About the property

Three Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Dog-Friendly

This three-bedroom, two-bathroom Lake Tahoe vacation cabin is located in Agate Bay, a small community in North Lake Tahoe. Agate Bay is conveniently located five minutes from Kings Beach and ten minutes from Tahoe City.

As you walk into the property, you will notice the high ceilings and open layout of the living space which flows nicely with the kitchen and dining areas. The living room has a flat screen TV, wood burning fireplace and plenty of couch space for relaxation. A fully-equipped kitchen is great for preparing and cooking any meal. The backyard has a gas grill, cozy deck furniture and a horseshoe pit.

Both downstairs bedrooms have queen-size beds. The third bedroom with king-size bed is upstairs and has a flat screen T.V. with DVD for your convenience. There is a bonus sleeping area with queen size bed and two twins. This is a great feature for a rental property.

All ABP vacation rentals come equipped with High-Speed Internet, Cable TV, linens, towels, kitchen supplies (toaster, coffee pot, dishes, pots/pans, utensils), washer/dryer, and BBQ. If you have special requests, please let us know.

About Agate Bay Properties

Both my wife and I were born in San Jose and raised there. Dad settled in California after the war (1946) married mom and was quite the outdoorsman. There are pictures of me strapped to his back as a baby backpacking in the Sierras. Dad had a love for the mountains and nature and was an avid angler. Camped and fished from Lassen/Shasta area down to Kings though the Tahoe basin. Off the 88 and 108 were favorites.

As far as Agate Bay goes - Mom's friend Mary Tomlinson and her brothers and sister had purchased the lot on Ophir, together and all of them built the cabin in the early 1950's. We all stayed there numerous summers and eventually The Tomlinson's bought a little A-frame up on Granite.... their children still own it. We rented from the Adam's for years, split the cost with friends. My parents purchased a house on Rhodesia in 1968, had it for about 10 years. They retired and couldn't afford both homes and dad had severe diabetes, so living in the woods was out - too cold. We boys were all busy partying and not thinking investment so the folks had sold the house. My wife, Ang and I bought a little modifined Aframe on Victoria when the kids were about 4 and had it 7 -8 years but were forced to sell in 1991 when the economy went to hell. We have never missed a summer in the Tahoe Basin... have rented numerous homes in the neighborhood. The family always preferred North Lake Tahoe as it was quieter and non of us are show-goers or gamblers.

Why Agate Bay Properties chose Lake Tahoe North Shore CA

My 30 year old children love the lake and we all decided to invest for the last time.... planning to keep it in the family for generations to come. We love the Modified A frame style because we want the big view of the trees out front. The wall of glass is important to us. The natural wood interior represents being up north in the woods.... don't really want plaster board and 8 foot ceilings. We love the openness.

What makes this cabin unique

The old Sleek place also had an unusually large kitchen for its era as well as being a 3BD/2BA. The 'flying wedge' is also unique... it's a one of a kind - not well planned or thought out which is obvious by the bathrooms and the laundry but the uniqueness outshines the flaws. At our age the level lot, no steps, and large lot were all benefits. In the 70's there were no neighbors either side but at least they build in a style where they don't stare at you!! The big deck area and BBQ is all relatively private compared to other homes we've been in. The ample off street parking is also a big plus.
