This lovely home welcomes you with a flat driveway and a two car heated garage. The home has received many upgrades over the years. There are two bedrooms on the first floor. The master bedroom has an updated bath including a steam shower, and huge walk in closet. Off the master is a recently added art/yoga studio if anyone in your group gets inspired by the beauty of the rockies. There is another bedroom with a queen and twin bed and a half bath.
Downstairs are two bedrooms, a family room, two baths and access to the family sized in ground hot tub.
One bedroom has a king bed and a cosy sitting area. It's bathroom is across the hall and offers a separate water closet, two sink areas, and a recently renovated glass enclosed shower. The outdoor in ground hot tub will comfortably accommodate 8 adults.
Our house is less than 2 miles away from the Snowmass Village base village and ski mountain. The Village is full of top notch shopping and dining. Snowmass Mountain has over 3,000 acres of skiable terrain, mountain biking, and hiking trails.
A short drive away is the historic City of Aspen, the eclectic Woody Creek neighborhood, or the Arkansas River where you can raft and fly fish.
The house is located on the side of a steep hill, and is only accessible by car. There is a spacious two car garage available for you.
At the bottom of the hill, you will find the RAFTA, Aspen's free bus service that can take you into the Village or to the city of Aspen.
This house is a treasure to our family. We have a guide with all the ins and outs of the house available, but we respectfully ask you treat the home as you would your own. No smoking. If you are looking for a place to have a beer pong tournament after a day of skiing, we aren't the rental for you!
We have enjoyed upgrading and improving this home as we have lived in our piece of paradise. We now spend significant time at lower altitude and are willing to share this home we love so much with other families that will build the same kind of enduring memories with their children, siblings grandchildren and friends.
Julie Wunderlin purchased this house in 1991
Having skied all over the US, we find Snowmass is the best family ski area. Both the aggressive double black skiers and the rank beginners find acres and acres of skiable terrain. We have used homes both on the mountain and off, and concluded getting to the lifts was easy and we preferred being able to see the mountain than be on it.
Benefits our home offers that distinguish it include:
An artist's studio
A large in ground hot tub
Views of the valley and mountains
Great kitchen, cozy living room with fire place and 2 large master bedrooms and baths
We loved this beautiful house - very comfortable and accommodated all our needs for a busy wedding weekend! The kitchen was a great place to prepare meals for our extended family. The deck and yard were perfect - we were lucky enough to enjoy a double rainbow framing the awesome view of the valley. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us for this special wedding at Maroon Bells!
This home was well received! It was a very comfortable and well furnished home. We felt very welcome and immediately felt like this is a place we could spend many winters. The log burning fireplace and hot-tub were a hit.
We spent the first week in September, 2015, in Snowmass with our daughters and their husbands. The accommodations were over the top. The Master bath with the steam shower was a hit for me and one of my son-in-laws. The rooms were so spacious with everything you needed. The kitchen was well stocked. The large hot tub was a hit with everyone. The views were incredible. The closeness to everything--shopping, hiking, exploring--was very convenient. Our niece and her two young children came for a couple of days and loved it. All and all, it was a delightful family reunion. We would do it again in a heartbeat! Can't recommend this home enough! The owner was very responsive to any questions we had. We totally recommend this home for almost anyone. They do not allow pets. A car is a must unless you bring all your own food. Wonderful haven in the mountains!
Beautiful, spacious house with gorgeous views in a great location. Short driving distance from Snowmass Mountain. Large, modern kitchen, plenty of comfortable beds, and an attached two car garage. Nothing beats relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of skiing. Will surely return next time I'm in Aspen.
We had a wonderful time at the house. Beautiful views, lots of space, and close to the mountain and stores which allowed us to maximize our time on vacation. Also, the hot tub was the perfect way to end the day after skiing. We'll definitely come back in the future.
We bought this home because all 20+ members of our family are enthusiastic skiers and lovers of winter sports. We soon discovered the magic of snowmass in the summer and all the many outdoor sports and cultural activities the roaring fork vally offers.
In the winter, we love to ski and snowboard at the four aspen mountain areas, all within 8 miles. We also snowshoe, cross country ski, enjoy reading by the lovely stone fireplace, and soaking in the hot tub at the end of the day.
Our favorite summer activities include the aspen music festival, the ideas festival, free weekly open air concerts on fanny hill, hiking the maroon bells, biking the extensive bike trails of the roaring fork valley, white water rafting, and going over independence pass to leadville.
