A luxury ranch home that fits perfectly in Idaho
A one of a kind property only 5 miles from McCall, Idaho perched on a ridge overlooking Jug Handle Mountain and your own private meandering stretch of Lake Fork Creek.
This estate features a luxury 10 year old ranch home that fits perfectly into the local Idaho environment as well as numerous outbuildings that complement the property.
From the house’s massive hand-crafted Amish beams, huge rock fireplaces, reclaimed wood flooring and towering windows…. to the majestic Payette River mountains and wide open meadow just out the door…. this is the Idaho of your dreams.
This one of a kind venue is set on 43 acres with magnificent mountain, river and meadow views. Lake Fork Creek and high mountain lakes and streams create some of the best trout fishing in the west.
In the winter, Valley County presents miles of groomed snowmobile trails and proximity to some of the best skiing in Idaho (Brundage Mountain, Tamarack Resort), making this truly a year round playground.

About Cheryl Meinzer
We sold our 65 year family farm in Colorado in 2014, and bought Riverside Ranch. It has become our passion to have a wonderful Idaho home that can be shared with others who will love it and respect it as we do. We live in San Diego, so McCall is a perfect get away. We look forward to meeting our guests and welcoming them to our serene country resort.
Cheryl Meinzer purchased this Estate in 2014
Why Cheryl Meinzer chose McCall
We were intrigued by the home, the view of the creek, forest and Jug Handle Mountain. Coming from eastern CO, this is a pretty magnificent place to land. The fact that we are only the 2nd owner since the land was homesteaded in 1907 by a Finnish family, John and Johanna Johnson, is an interesting piece of history. Art Johnson, who was born on Riverside Ranch and lived there all of this life until 2002. He is a legend in the area.
What makes this Estate unique
We are only the 2nd owner since the Johnson Family homesteaded in 1907 and lived in the meadow for 100 years. Most of the historic buildings on our property were built in 1902. The original log cabin was moved to Roseberry, a Finnish village on Farm to Market Road. It was dismantled and recreated log by log. The Ranch home was built in 2007, new made to look old. It is a very high end, well built home.

Family Loves Riverside Ranch
Riverside Ranch is one of a kind! Our entire family (ages 17-2) loved it. Cheryl was a gracious host and by the end of the week felt like a lifelong friend. We loved exploring the property, kids swimming in the river, feeding the horses and spotting wild life (fox, elk, deer, owl).
The inside was gorgeous and homey. We loved decor, gourmet kitchen, theater room, BBQ, and eating in the beautiful dining room with amazing views.
It was a quick 5 minute drive to downtown McCall. The food was surprisingly good with a decent variety of options. Lake Payette was gorgeous - we loved kayaking, long boarding and renting a pontoon boat. McCall was a charming town!
Riverside Ranch is a special place and look forward to coming back for years to come!
Great for families and friends - relaxing break
Riverside Ranch is heaven - a peaceful and beautiful location with all the amenities. The house is truly perfect. The town of McCall is quaint and has everything you might need while away. We came with our little girl who loved being out in the country! Go bike riding, hiking, boating or just sit on the porch with a glass of wine and enjoy the view. Book RR - you won't regret it!
Beautiful property, fantastic views
Our family of 12 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at River Ranch. The children especially loved the creek, the media room and the horses. We all enjoyed the beautiful views from the decks. The house is gorgeous with a fully stocked kitchen and a large eating area. Owner Cheryl was fantastic to work with, very responsive to every inquiry and request.
I stayed here for a work retreat and the wide-eyed landscape of mountains and snow was simply too much for words. The sunlight at one point glistened in the frozen fog and gave the air a glimmer I have honestly never witnessed before. There were so many rooms and the kitchen had so much room for all of the food we needed (enough to feed 25+ people for five days). My favorite part of the house is the theater/game room/library downstairs. The stadium-style theater seats were so incredibly comfortable.
Bonus! We were able to see so many stars at night and the occasional shooting star. You simply have to take some time to star-gaze when you decide to stay here.
Beautiful is an understatement
As I drove deeper into the mountains from Boise, I knew that I would be staying in a special place. I had no idea HOW special and exceptional Riverside Ranch would be! I couldn't be happier with the lodging, amenities, atmosphere and view of this location! We were able to easily get into town and find our way back without having to drive for a very long time. The house itself is in immaculate condition complete with a great kitchen, living area, entertainment area (the recliners are SO comfortable), several bedrooms, and what very easily could be the best view I've seen from the porch - a great place for a morning cup of coffee.
This is a great property when you want to stay in the mountains that offers the perfect balance between isolation, relaxation, and adventure while still being able to visit town. Would definitely recommend this property and hope to be back again!
Lodge like house in magical setting
Our organization had a retreat at Riverside Ranch and it was the perfect location for bonding, deep thinking and fun. The house has a very lodge like feel, it's warm and cozy while overlooking the beautiful snow covered meadow and mountains. We slept 12 comfortably (we could have slept more because blow up beds are provided) and we had 19 attend the retreat (the cottage was being remodeled, so some staff stayed at another house close by). We had enough room in the living room to meet and then we had several areas to break out into small groups. The theater room was perfect for viewing company videos - we were even able to Facetime on the big screen TV with an employee who couldn't make the trip. We cooked all of our meals in the well equipped kitchen. For fun, we sledded down the perfect hill from the house to the meadow. I can't wait to go back!
Located halfway between Tamarack and Brundage Mountain, both are an easy drive from Riverside Ranch, (18 miles) and boast some of the best powder skiing in Idaho! Also, only 7 miles from Payette Lake and located on the banks of Lake Fork Creek.
