Large, comfortable, spacious kid and pet friendly family home. This lovely 3800+ sq/ft home sits on a 1+ acre wooded lot in beautiful Redington East. Lots of large windows for mountain views and lots of light. The daylight walk-out basement is great for the kids to hang out, with tv, bumper pool and foosball. Two bunk rooms there sleep 7. The main floor is open concept, with dining area,living area, separate sitting area and kitchen. A cathedral ceiling leads up to another sitting area and a queen bedded room with a bath. On the main floor are two queen bedded rooms and a full bath. A brand new Jotul 'gas' wood stove on the main floor adds an additional heat source for those really cold sugarloaf nights. The first floor/basement has radiant heat.

About Nancy Hood

We have been Sugarloafers since the 70's and finally built our 'Loaf home in 2003. We love the Redington area, as we can walk the dogs, snow shoe and X-country out our back door and the peace and quiet are soothing to the soul.

Very Nice! We'll be back!

We all really enjoyed our stay! The place is nice and big, clean, sunny and well stocked! Loved the open floor plan! We could all (11 of us!) be together, playing games, relaxing around the gas fireplace & cooking dinner. Kids had room to hang out and play foosball in the basement too! We had plenty of room to park (6 cars) The conditions at Sugarloaf were absolutely perfect! We'll be back!

The Hood house at Sugarloaf is roomy, attractive and well appointed. Luxurious.

The Hood house is outstanding. There are not enough words to describe how much it added to the pleasure of our group of Senior Skiers during our annual fall ski long weekend. The only drawbacks had nothing to do with the house or its accommodations. We got off to a bad start in our interaction with the rental agency HomeAway. We were told that any details about the rental, including the street address, had to come from the owner. The owner was traveling during the arrangements, and it wasn't until two days before our arrival date that we could obtain the actual street address. During the scheduled time to make payment, I was traveling and found it impossible to make contact with HomeAway to arrange our second payment. The web page was useless. Finally by telephone, I was able to talk with an agent and solve some of the problems. HomeAway is more than arms-length from the property owner, charges extra fees (insurance) that are not refundable, and becomes a barrier to contacting a property owner. HomeAway claimed that the property owner was unresponsive. In past rentals, I have dealt with an agent for the property owner which I found much more effective. When we arrived at the rental, the long driveway was a sheet of ice, both undrivable and unwalkable. It took more than three hours (waiting in our cars) to contact the owner, get a plow and sand truck to the scene, and finally to have physical access to the house. Although a sour note, this inconvenience was accepted when we all delighted in the beauty, layout and convenience of the house. The property owner was wonderful to deal with. HomeAway was not.

Clean, convenient, so much room!! Loved it!

Landlord and plow guy VERY accommodating and easy to reach. Home was clean and well stocked with paper products, towels, bedding etc. So spacious we had 6 teenagers and 6 adults plenty of room for playing games, cooking, relaxing. Bathrooms had lots of water pressure and hot water (this has been a problem for us in the mountains in the past LOL) House is close to the mountain, we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this home!!!

Great place to stay, great people to rent from!

We had a great time staying in Nancy and Jay's home. It was a perfect size for our large group, and had everything we needed to feel at home. We were visiting to ski Sugarloaf, so the 5 minute ride to the mountain was perfect. Nancy was wonderful to work with during the planning process, and everything was ready for us when we arrived. I am hoping to rent from her again next year if the opportunity is there!

Easter Weekend March 24-28 2016

We had a tremendous weekend! We thank the Hood's for renting their home to us. The home was just what we were looking for. The house had plenty of room for our party of 12 and was very comfortable. We enjoyed the location not being too far from the mountain but also in a wooded private neighborhood. We will definitely come back someday!
