About Andreea Larhs

Our family has been vacationing at Whistler every year for the past 20 years. We are fortunate enough to live in Seattle, a reasonable drive away, which allows us to hop in the car and be in Whistler in just a few hours. Whistler is our 'happy place'. Our two kids started skiing just as soon as they were old enough (3) to qualify for the Whistler Kids Ski School (which is excellent, by the way - people travel across the globe for this). We are happy to share our home with guests who appreciate the mountain as much as we do.

Andreea Larhs purchased this condo in 2014

Why Andreea Larhs chose Upper Village

We chose to buy our place at the Woodrun after many seasons at Whistler, during which we stayed at countless properties and hotels. We picked the Woodrun primarily because its prime location - which is unique in that it is slopeside, easy walk to everything, yet superbly quiet and calm. The Woodrun, for us, had several other benefits which set it apart: elegant and solid construction, private in-unit washer and dryer, spacious units, and a very nice hot tub and heated pool.

What makes this condo unique

Our particular unit is unique in that it has the advantages of the first floor location (no elevator wait, just a hop away from the ski locker room and most importantly, the pool/hot tub), with added benefits of facing downhill which means full privacy (the walking path is well below our level - no one can either look in or walk in from the outside), and an unusually large terrace which comfortably fits our bbq and table for four. A lovely feature especially during beautiful Whistler summer days. Additionally, we have carefully remodeled our unit to make it a pleasure to be there for ourselves and our guests. We hope you will feel the same way after your stay.

Gorgeous Condo, Prime Location, Dated Building

  • 4 of 5

Our family of four found this lovely condo to be perfectly well appointed, beautifully decorated, and in prime location for easy access to both Blackcomb and Whistler slopes. We loved the location, the comfortable beds, high-end linens, whimsical artwork, fully stocked kitchen, reliable, private wifi, multiple TVS, fluffy towels, and spacious mudroom with many hooks and the all-important boot warmer. The space was thoughtfully laid out, very clean and beautifully maintained. The only thing I'd add to the condo is an extra sofa opposite the one in the living room. There wasn't enough comfortable seating/places to flop around, so our kids (12 and 14) spent all their time in the bedroom. If this review was for the condo alone, it would be 5 stars! However, we found the Woodrun facility itself to be a step down from the luxury of the condo. The property felt dated. The hot tub/pool area and locker room were run down and in need of renovation. The old combination locks on the ski lockers were tricky to operate (my kids and husband could not open our locker, though I had no problem), and signs in the locker room indicated that many were not working properly. The old key card locks throughout the facility were frustrating. We couldn't go anywhere without our key cards, even within the facility such as entering the ski locker or the pool/spa from inside the building. To access the hot tub/pool we needed 2 cards, since entrance was through the gender-specific, key-card controlled washrooms and we have both genders in our family. We all needed to carry key cards on the slopes since we often needed access to the condo at different times throughout the day. Updated combo locks would have been infinitely more convenient. That said, we enjoyed our stay due to the care and attention to detail that was evident in the Lahr's condo. As mentioned by others, Andreea provided excellent information before we arrived and her thoughtful touches made our stay as perfect as it could be. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 4 - kids aged 10 and 12. This was our first time visiting Whistler/Blackcomb. Leading up to the trip, Andreea was so helpful with all our questions about everything from shopping to what sort of boots to pack!

Its location is great and we prefer the calmer aspect of the upper village compared to the bustle of Whistler - we loved walking down there for dinner, but were happy to leave it as well. We loved 7th Heaven and the less busy lifts on Blackcomb as well, and although we had the kids do ski/ snowboard school in Whistler, you can also sign them up in Blackcomb. Might even be good to do a day of each so kids can get to know all the good spots!

The condo was clean, had more charm than any of the other places I viewed online in 6 months, and had everything we needed. Lots of pillows, comfy beds, plenty of towels for both bathroom and hot tub. Lots of hanging and drawer space. We were able to do laundry, hang out ski gear on the rack, and adored the boot and glove warmer - what a life saver - never seen one of those before and gave us dry boots and gloves in the morning, and also dried out our apres ski gear. It is a short walk down the slope to Blackcomb - just second condo up the mountain - and although it was a much tougher walk back up after dinner when you are exhausted from skiing all day, and the snow hardens, I would not change the convenience of the ski in ski out for anything. We did take a taxi home from Whistler village one night when it was raining and was only $10 CAN. There were toboggans to use for the kids to slide down the hill too after the lifts stopped - heaven. The hot tub was a life saver too - although it would get a little packed at times, never too full for us to fit, and was actually fun and social if you were in the mood. Kids played in the pool with other kids, and the scene was wonderful. Locker room with ski stuff so easy in the mornings and the condo is clearly the best located one in the whole of Woodrun with windows facing out away from the pool, with trees giving privacy and on first floor so right next to pool and lockers. If I were in a position to buy a condo, this would be it!! But next best option is being able to rent it for the week! Would definitely stay here again if we were coming back to Whistler. xxx

well located slopeside winter accommodation

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I spent 11 nights here late January with our 18 year old son. The location right beside the Wizard Express worked really well for us as we were all skiing. Proximity to the ski locker room and exit to the slopes was a positive. The condo was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Bathrooms are good.Good private wifi and TVs etc. One can readily walk to the main village but the shuttle bus stop and taxis were easy options. Only minor negative was that the Woodrun hot tub was out of action for at least half our visit and is a fairly unattractive facility anyway.

Exceptional property - Perfectly located and spacious with all the mod-cons

  • 5 of 5

We (a family of 4 with 2 young children) had a wonderful weeks' skiing at Woodrun and were delighted with all aspects of the accommodation. The ski-in/ski-out accessibility makes for a seamless transition to the slopes each day and the apartment has great access to the pool, spa & ski lockers. We walked to Whistler Village each evening which is a scenic and easy 10 minute stroll.

The apartment itself is roomy, warm, clean and well-appointed. (The shower in the en suite is a real treat!).

Andreea is a great host who is very easy to communicate with.

We would highly recommend this apartment and look forward to returning one day.

Thank you for making our stay so memorable.
