Overview

About the property

Wine Country Mountainside Home - Equidistant to Sonoma Square and Yountville — tucked into the Mayacamas mountains high up on Trinity Road —Oliveira is close to wine country's most popular destinations.

The house sleeps 8 in 3 bedrooms (plus 4th bedroom/almost private loft with queen-size sofa bed) and 3 baths. The great room flows into more than 1,000 square feet of deck with a choice of eating and lounging areas, a salt water pool and salt water hot tub. When you are tired of relaxing it's game time. Oliveira has a beautiful shaded bocce court, corn-hole, Foosball, and ping pong. Dozens of olive trees dot the 10 acre private property, accompanied by old live oaks, an open field and a short nature trail. Inside, settle down with a book, game, or one of the three flat screen TVs with Dish TV. Enjoy the view of the mountains from the kitchen as you prepare your meals.

If the excitement of beyond calls, it is only 4 miles (8 mins) to small-town gourmet destinations like the Glen Ellen Star or Girl and the Fig Cafe in Glen Ellen; 10 miles (approx 20 mins) to a myriad of wineries like Pangloss Cellars, Auteur and Walt in Sonoma Square; and 11 miles (20 mins) to Yountville with world class restaurants like Ad Hoc, Bouchon and Bistro Jeanty in Yountville. Live the good life! - to be used before April 15th next year. No small children (no pool cover or fence around the pool.)

Amazing rural property! (a little ant problem)

  • 4 of 5

Overall - great property. The house is fantastic - and expertly furnished. Kudos to Kerry, et al for that - and all the 'small things' that are in reality much bigger. (welcome basket and note, notes/recommendations on local eateries, vineyards, etc - very helpful!)

Two small recommendations.

1 - The house has an ant problem. They seemed to be swarming the kitchen upon our arrival. We did our best to make sure the place was spotless each night - with all items put away, sealed, etc - but we fought the battle anew each morning. Not fun for a vacation!

2 - The pool had some algae/balance issues upon arrival. Our first day it was not usable and the second day had some challenges. We were able to use it about 50% of our stay. Although this was explained in a last-minute note from Kerry - it was an inconvenience. We didn't ask for any kind of credit, but I think that should have been offered, given the pool was a big amenity - and reason we chose this particular house.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the kind words about our property and for the recommendations for improvement. We always want to hear how we can make it better. Apologies of course for the ants. Our monthly pest service usually has these things under control, but they must have missed something. In the future please let us know immediately if there is a problem and we can send the service. While the pool was discolored upon your arrival (more green than clear) the cause is the minerals in the well water and NOT algae. The pool is fed from our well supply which in this part of Sonoma is heavy with minerals. Our professional pool service visits every week to ensure that the chemical balance is correct. In this case while the color was off, the chemical balance was ok. We sent the pool service during your visit in order to correct the cosmetic color issue which they reported remedied within 24 hours. Thanks again for your feedback.

This property was a dream come true!

  • 5 of 5

Myself and a group of 7 other women stayed at the house this past weekend for a girls trip. The house was perfect! The views, the pool, the accommodations, the house had everything we needed. So much so that we really didn't want to leave the house at all. But we were close enough to grocery stores and wineries that made traveling easy - despite the windy mountain roads. None of us wanted to leave. And I plan on returning to the house again for my next trip to Napa. I would recommend this house to anyone!

Beautiful, comfortable home with an amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house. It is clean and nice with a fully stocked kitchen so we could make a wonderful dinner. It sleeps 7 comfortably. The owners left a delicious spread of cheeses and snacks to endure we had a pleasant stay. She was super responsive when we had a minor issue with the heat. They went above and beyond for us. There are also so many activities-a bocce pit, ping pong, etc. I would highly recommend staying here.

Really fun comfy house

  • 4 of 5

The house is very nice, clean, functional and has lots to do like hot tub, pool, bocce ball, fire pit etc.

The listing describes it as 4 bedroom house. Be aware that while 3 of those are standard bedrooms the 4th is actually an open loft space with fold out couch. It was definitely comfortable but if you're with a group that demands 4 bedrooms this may not be exactly as described.
