Overview

About the property

Classic Secluded Mountain Cabin. In the aspens!

I built this cabin with my sons just s few years ago in a beautiful aspen forest. The Beaver Lakes Estates' privately plowed road leads five miles off the highway to this quiet, sunny, mountain home. The heated floors will warm your toes and the woodland wildlife will warm your heart. You may depart for above tree line wilderness right from the front door - on foot, x/c skis. bike, or snowmobile depending on the season. The cabin is only 20 minutes from the edge of Historic Leadville and Arkansas River fly fishing, and only half an hour to Ski Cooper and the Mt. Elbert trailhead.

My cabin sits on a very private three acre lot surrounded by aspens, pines and firs. There is a decent peak of the Mt Elbert summit from the dining nook and jaw dropping panoramic views await you on your after dinner stroll.

The master bedroom is rustic majestic with a high ceiling and warm floors. A big desk is yours to use for typing out the first chapter of your first novel. Or stay a while and finish it.

The well equipped kitchen will be perfect for a special meal.

Parties of four should be very comfortable with one another. Each couple will have a bathroom on their floor. They will share the one shower in the downstairs bathroom. The master bathroom is open to the master bedroom which is open to downstairs. Visually private of course but you will hear the coffee pot downstairs from the master bed. 900 square ft.- big cabin, very small house. The down stairs bed room doubles as the living room.

Friends and families love it!!!!!!!!

No fishing in Beaver Lakes.

Downstairs bedroom doubles as the living room.

No fires of any kind, ever.

Dogs on leash per Lake County and Beaver Lakes Estates. Please obey this in the subdivision. Not far to off leash national forest. No Chasing wildlife.

Unlimited slow WiFi.

AWD car required Oct- June

Property was charming, quiet and serene. The perfect place to reconnect as a family

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was clean, cozy, and perfect for our family of four. Both our teen son and preteen daughter loved the quiet and natural surroundings. Sleeping was perfect for four and the two baths were the perfect size. One shower was not an inconvenience. Cabin was well-stocked with dishes and essentials. Layout of cabin was perfect. Enjoyed sledding down the driveway and the views on the way up were spectacular. Saw large herds of elk every afternoon. The owner was very attentive and helpful prior to our stay. Would love to stay again and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you for a wonderful trip and new memories in a special place.

Beautiful cabin in a great private location.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is beautifully built, very cozy and comfortable. The home is in a beautiful private location near town but not too close. However, the cabin is very minimally stocked in the kitchen. Be prepared to take your own kitchen necessities such as spices, condiments, food wrap (foil/plastic wrap), containers for leftovers, cooking oil etc. overall the house it’s self was great and perfect romantic getaway for two

Owner's Response: I have no record of this person staying at my home. Always in stock: Salt, pepper, olive oil, basic spices, tea, coffee, Tupperware (although people think that goes home with them so sometimes not in stock).

Great get away!

  • 5 of 5

Great "trapper's cabin" away from it all. Had everything we needed and such a beautiful area that was so peaceful. If you want to just get away to the mountains to explore, this is your place.

Beautiful!

The cabin is lovely, easy to get to, comfortable. We were surrounded by pine trees and golden-leafed aspens. Very quiet. Would definitely visit again.

Doesn't get quieter than this!

  • 4 of 5

We were amazed at the quiet and solitude of this little gem! Honestly, the only sounds we heard were the soft rain falling on the roof. It seems there was heat because we were always comfortable but we never once heard anything like a furnace or a water heater...or a phone...or a television. My cell phone went off ...once...but I made quick work of that! I highly recommend enjoying this as a couple but there is room in the living room for two more if need be. The kitchen was perfectly appointed for a gourmet meal! I brought key kitchen tools I would need but didn't need them after all. I could have even made due with the spices he keeps on hand! The only thing we could have wished for were linens out and at the ready. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did, Thanks Dan!

Owner's Response: Not sure what was up with the linens? The norm is: There are plenty of towels and wash cloths right where you need them. The master bed is beautifully made with clean flannel sheets. You need to add a top sheet and blanket to the day beds if you are to switch them from sofa to sleeping beds. The sheets and blankets are 2 feet from the beds in a blanket chest. I will follow up with my housekeeper to ensure all is as I intend, every time.

Autumn at its finest!

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect fall getaway for our family. The house was wonderful and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Easy to get to great hiking area at top of road. The aspen fall color was framed in every window, including the bedroom. Amazing views driving to and from the house. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone who wants the true mountain experience with all the creature comforts.
