About Alessandra Buccioni

I was born in Florence, I am married and I have a six year old daughter. I graduated in economics and later in fashion at Polimoda University. I worked on design and product development for 15 years in the Italian fashion industry, specialising in women's shoes; an absolute dream for many women! I like art, animals, reading, skiing and sailing but most of all I like to learn about different cultures, their food, tastes and lifestyles. Consequently, I love travelling. I have been to almost every part in Europe and every other continent including the Far East, ( Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan), South America (Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala and Peru), the US and Canada, Africa (Egypt, Morocco and Kenya), United Arab Emirates and India ,Mauritius, Seychelles, Maldives, Sri Lanka and the Himalayas, my most favourite part!. Our next travel plans are to go to Cambodia.

Perfect apartment and perfect owner

  • 5 of 5

First, Alessandra was wonderful, as everyone else has noted. She responded quickly to all my emails before we arrived. She also met us when we arrived, showed us all around the apartment, gave us maps and information on Florence, including great places for gelato and food. She also sent us information on trains ( we went to Cinque Terre after Florence) and checked in during the weekend to make sure everything was OK.

Second, the apt. is great. Very clean; very comfortable - comfortable king size bed, all beautifully decorated with new fixtures and fittings. It was great to have the washing machine - we got some laundry done. Most important, you can walk to all the main sites with ease from this location, but the street it's on is not so busy or noisy. The apt. is very quiet, by the way. Our last night there the neighbors were having a huge party which we could hear from the bathroom but we could not hear a sound from the bedroom, nor could we hear sounds from the street. There is A/C, which was great because it was in the 90's when we were there. Finally, it's a 10 minute walk to the train station - great when we were leaving.

Additionally, we found that we could walk around the block away from the center of town and found some nice little restaurants next to a park, where it was a little less busy. We ate at Il Giardina de Barbano for simple salad and pizza and really enjoyed it - simple, not a fancy meal, but relaxing after days of walking.

All our best wishes, Alessandra. Thanks again-

Dana and John

Great place! Very helpful and accommodating owner!

Fantastic place. Central and very close to the heart of Florence.

The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. We brought our 1 year old daughter with us and Alessandra was more than accommodating. She got us a crib, highchair and even brought some toys for our daughter to play with.

I would recommend this place to anyone.

Convenient, clean, comfortable and charming with a thoughtful owner

  • 5 of 5

This was my first visit to Italy and hopefully not my last. My two daughters and I stayed in Cleopatra Apartment during Easter weekend. Upon arrival, we found the apartment to be exactly as the pictures show - clean and updated with the charm of an older building.

Alessandra gives excellent service by explaining everything in the apartment, recommending places to visit, and providing travel advice. There are also maps, brochures and books for the area. Since Alessandra has traveled a lot, she was able to answer questions I had about our train reservations, and was willing to print boarding passes if needed.

We enjoyed being able to walk to the many attractions and shops.

Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend Cleopatra Apartment!

Cozy and convenient

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay in Florence--walking distance to everything, including the train station, the Accademia, the Duomo, the Mercato (great market and restaurants), Palazzo Vecchio, and much more. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, and Alessandra was friendly, personable, and helpful. She met us when we arrived, explained how everything worked, and showed us on a map where to find good restaurants, grocery stores, and pharmacies. She also arranged for a taxi to pick us up and take us to the airport when we left. We loved our stay.

Our stay at the Cleopatra Apartment in Florence was absolutely AMAZING! Alessandra is a most gracious host and the apartment is wonderful!! We were just a few blocks from the sights - Duomo, da Vinci Museum, Dreoni amazing toystore, Market, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi - and very close to the train station. Alessandra was very welcoming and met us at the apartment upon our arrival - a short taxi ride from the airport. She pointed out places of interest, where to catch the city bus, supermarkets & pharmacies for necessities, the most yummy gelato places. We appreciated all the apartment's amenities - comfy bed, kitchen, hot shower, wifi, great location. My daughter and I had the most incredible visit!!!!!

We were hours late because of a train snafu, but the totally adorable Alessandra was there in minutes when we called with all the great city information and suggestions. The apartment was perfectly located, and Alessandra arranged for a taxi to pick us up on the last day to take us to the airport. Very clean and comfy. We didn't cook at all but did use the washing machine, which worked great - easy to use. Florence is wonderful, we hated to leave and hope to come back again one day. Thanks so much Alessandra - loved your place! and your city!
