About the property

3BR/2BA modern, spacious, and private home in lush tropical setting

This beautiful, well-maintained home is located in a quiet, upscale neighborhood above Kailua-Kona. Nestled in the quaint artist village of Holualoa, the elevation (1000 feet) provides the perfect blend of temperatures for ideal comfort: warm days and cool nights. The clean mountain air will refresh you after a hot day on the beach, snorkeling in nearby world-famous Kealakekua Bay or exploring the stunning countryside.

- Ocean and sunset views from the huge covered lanai.

- Only 10 minutes from downtown Kailua-Kona or from Magic Sands beach! Yet it feels like you’re living in a secluded paradise, with the peace and privacy of being away from the tourists and traffic. It’s the best of both worlds.

- Two king beds with ultra premium mattresses and bedding for an incredibly comfortable night's sleep.

- Plus two extra-long twin beds (that can be combined to form a 3rd king bed) ensure that there is plenty of mattress space to comfortably accommodate 2 additional tall adults or children. Total occupancy of 6 adults/children.

- Fully stocked kitchen with modern stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher.

- Indoor and outdoor dining areas: watch the sun set into the ocean as you enjoy dinner on the lanai or stay inside and make use of the expansive formal dining area.

- Spacious, secluded deck in the backyard is great for parties and grilling. Or just relax, grab a papaya off the tree, and take in the tropical surroundings from one of the loungers.

- All new hardwood and teak furniture creates a comfortable, clean, and stylishly modern living environment. Artwork and other decor lend a distinctly “island” feel.

- Professionally maintained landscaping, including lemon, orange and papaya trees.

- 55” Samsung TV with digital cable, high-speed internet, and bluetooth-enabled stereo system provide all the modern conveniences of home for work and play.

- Washer and dryer: full-size laundry machines in a separate laundry room on the main level.

- Master bathroom has a full-size tub and separate shower with hand sprayer. Guest bathroom has a full-size shower/tub combination.

- Walking distance to Holualoa village, known for local art and artisan coffee. Also home to the best restaurant on the Kona Coast: the Holuakoa Gardens and Cafe.

- Hawai'i Tax I.D. No: W41099262-01

Why Julie Schwarz chose Kona Coast

The Big Island of Hawai'i is one of the most spectacularly beautiful places in the world. The diversity of climate and altitude creates a stunning variety of places to explore. From the beaches and bays of the Kona and Kohala Coasts, to the Mars-like peak of Mauna Kea, to the fascinating dichotomy of Volcanoes National Park (half arid desert, half lush rainforest), to the rugged shores and ancient historic sites of North Kohala, to the countless rivers and waterfalls of the windward side, to the incredible underwater environment teeming with sea life, the possibilities for exploration and discovery are nearly endless. In the midst of all this variety, the Kona coast has one of the best, and most consistent, year-round climates of any place in the world. It is near enough to the equator that it is almost always warm, yet stays relatively dry because it is protected from the trade winds (and the moisture they bring) by the great bulk of the Mauna Loa and Hualalai volcanoes. The town of Kailua-Kona presents a wonderful mix of modern convenience and local flavor. The Holualoa area is perfectly situated on the Kona Coast: near enough to Kailua-Kona to take advantage of all the convenience and entertainment of the town, but just far enough to be comfortably distant from the tourists, traffic and cruise ships. The house is at just the right elevation to enjoy warm sunny days and cool refreshing evenings. The higher elevations also make for incredible sunset views. Holualoa itself is a quaint village of artists and artisanal coffee producers.

What makes this house unique

Modern style and comfort in a peaceful Hawaiian setting, at a great value.

The perfect vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Julie's home. The house was the perfect layout for group of 4 adults and 2 children. The house was clean, kitchen well-equipped and the lanai was perfect for breakfasts listening to birds and looking out onto the ocean. We had already spent a month on the island and this was the perfect way to end our stay in Hawaii. We would definitely stay here again and appreciate Julie's hospitality. Mahalo!

Peaceful, clean, spacious house

  • 5 of 5

We were debating whether to stay right by the beach in a condo, or in a larger stand alone house further from the sea. Ultimately we decided on the latter as we knew we wanted to visit lots of different areas around the island and not just stick to one beach. The peace and quiet of a small neighbourhood outweighed the proximity of a single beach. After each busy (exciting, adventure-filled) day we were glad to return to the peaceful spacious house. It was lovely starting the morning with a view of the ocean (we loved spotting birds in the mornings) and have plenty of space to spread ourselves out. We loved being able to open up all the windows to get lots of fresh air. The house was very clean and up to date with nice fresh clean bedding. Actually, we travel quite a bit and the bed is probably the most comfortable I have had slept in (aside from my own). Nice spacious bathroom. If you have a rental car and don't want to stick to a single resort beach then this is a great option.

Beautiful home with good proximity to Kailua-Kona

  • 5 of 5

This is beautiful home that you don't often find for a short term rental. We loved driving in after a day of sightseeing and seeing all the colorful flowers and vegetation. The home is in a neighborhood, but it is very quiet and provides a sense of privacy. Three couples shared the house and it worked well. There is a huge master bedroom with en suite. The other two bedrooms are adequately sized. They do have to share a bathroom but that was easily managed. The kitchen is well equipped and set for simple or gourmet meals. One of our favorite things was the screened in porch for relaxing and meals. All and all I highly recommend.

Happy Hilltop Home!

  • 5 of 5

Hi Julie: We want to thank you for a marvelous visit to your beautiful Kona home high above the ocean. Your home was so clean, well-stocked and airy. Our granddaughter was able to sleep comfortably in the crib you provided. We enjoyed the view from the lanai with the beautiful sunsets and Venus siting. The outdoor furniture was so comfy to sit and enjoy the breezes and wild turkeys below. We even had the opportunity to meet a nice neighbor. The little village nearby was a delight with the marvelous art galleries and a wonderful spot to enjoy a tasty brunch. What a wonderful introduction to Kona! We so appreciate your letting us enjoy your home. We would happily make reservations with you if we return to Kona in the future! With appreciation to our wonderful hostess.........Jan and John Thompson

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

4 of us enjoyed the stay. The property was beautiful and roomy, better than expected. My favorite part was watching the sunset every night from the large patio drinking a glass of wine! I was very sad to leave... The house was tastefully decorated with stylish furniture and spotless. Will definitely stay again.

It was a nice 3 bed house, with a very nice kitchen, a fabulous deck with jungle and ocean view, dining room, family room and 2 bathrooms. I would recommend renting this house.

A short drive from Kailua-Kona is the village of Holualoa. It is a small community, known for its artists and artisanal coffee producers. Shop for local coffee and artwork, including paintings, ceramic sculptures and handcrafted woodwork. In November, Holualoa hosts its annual Holualoa Village Coffee & Art Stroll. Also, several local coffee plantations offer tours and coffee tastings.
