Wildflowers begin their amazing display in the lower elevations around Crested Butte in June and continue in their splendor into August in the higher elevations, where the flowers, the hiking and the single-track are incomparable. July is peak month for flowers in the high country. The wildflower festival is in mid-July. The Crested Butte Music Festival also runs June through August.
You are also located very near the recreation/bike path between the towns of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. You can bike the 2.5 miles to the historic town of Crested Butte, or hop on the free shuttle with your bike. Mountain bikers, the upper loop along with the rest of Mt. CB's bike trails are only pedal strokes away.
Aspen Viewing in Crested Butte is unparalleled during mid/late September, an autumn splendor you won't forget.
Your vacation home is well-located near the ski area. Skiers, take the easy walk to the West Wall and Peachtree ski lifts just steps away (about 3/4 of a block or a 4 minute walk). Or jump on the free shuttle that stops just out your front door in the winter and ride it to the main resort base or to town.
Do you enjoy Nordic skiing and snowshoeing? The Crested Butte Nordic Center opens November 11, 2017 and maintains over 50 kilometers of groomed trails around the Town of Crested Butte. About Dawn Kairns
Tom is a native of Denver and has never moved from the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. He raised his family in Westminster and developed his own practice as a CPA and Financial Planner. He finally retired after 35 years of practice. Life now allows him time to explore his other loves, music and photography. I grew up in Indiana but Colorado called to me over 35 years ago during my first visit. I applied for a nursing job at the University Health Sciences Center, moved to the front range and never looked back. While I worked in the neonatal ICU, I attended Metropolitan State College in Denver where I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. I eventually received my Master's Degree in Nursing at the University of Colorado in Denver and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). After retiring from practice as a FNP, writing was another passion that stirred within. After Tom and I lost our first dog, a very special black lab named Maggie, I was moved to write about our life together. My first book, 'MAGGIE the Dog Who Changed My Life,' was my tribute to her and all that she taught me. Then, after my parents left this world, I was inspired to write my second book, 'Final Years Stories of Parent Care, Loss and Lives Changed.' Tom and I live just outside Boulder, CO with our adopted animals, Maddie (our dog) and Tigger (our cat).

Why Dawn Kairns chose Mount Crested Butte
Tom and I began coming to Crested Butte on our honeymoon 27 years ago. Although we have traveled and camped in numerous beautiful places throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and Canada, Crested Butte always summoned us back. We both realized that CB lives in our hearts. One day on a hike on Oh-Be-Joyful, I told Tom, 'this is my souls's home.'

Property in great condition. As advertised.
Short bus ride to the slope. Easy 200 yards walk back to condo - even in ski boots - as slightly downhill. Owner very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.
Thank you, Steve. We are so glad you enjoyed staying in our town home. You are welcome back anytime!
Great Property, Great Location
Convenient condo very close to the base of the hill. Fully provisioned and spacious.
Great Place for a ski vacation with an easy walk to the chairlift.
This is a really nice townhouse. We were surprised how big it was. The living area was a very comfortable place to gang out after skiing. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. We did not use the hot tubs but they did look nice. The owners were very helpful and responded quickly to any questions I had. The bus stops right out front of the place, but we did the short walk to the West Wall Chairlift. I just wished there was more snow. We would rent this place again.
Mark, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in our townhome. You are welcome back anytime. We, too, wish you had more snow during your visit!
Wonderful Oasis in Crested Butte
This is a lovely townhouse just a short walk from the base of Crested Butte. The house is plenty big and warm, and has a beautiful wall of windows facing the West to watch the sunset each night.
The house is outfitted with everything you will need, and it's easy to store skis in the tandem 2-car garage. The owners are very easy to contact and seem very interested in your experience. Would definitely stay again!
Dave, you are welcome to come back and stay in our home anytime!
Great family cabin!
We came with kids and In-laws and loved it! The layout is great for families to spread out and enjoy their stay! It was clean and had everything we needed! Beautiful views and close to the slopes. Will definitely stay again!
Thank you, Courtney! We love to have you all back anytime!
