About James and Colleen Clark
Jim is born and raised in Marquette, and Colleen's roots reach back to Marquette, even though she was raised in lower Michigan. They have been back in Marquette for 26 years, it is where they raised their family, in the home that Jim was raised in.
James and Colleen Clark purchased this Bungalow in 2014
Why James and Colleen Clark chose Marquette
We have had our eye on this property since we purchased the home we live in (right next door), in 2005. The 300 foot deep, wooded lot is a beautiful natural setting, in the city limits! Sweet Superior Retreat came to be because that is exactly what it is. It's a charming, peaceful little place, and the more that we worked on updating this special place we'd been watching (and caretaking) for 9 years, the more special it became to us.
What makes this Bungalow unique
500 feet from the ever changing Lake Superior & it's beautiful beaches; miles of walking/biking paths; 4 nearby parks & playgrounds; ability to walk or bike to historic downtown Marquette and Third Street's shops, bars and restaurants.

clean tidy and a great location
Wonderful location. great housekeeping. Tiny cottage with lots of character. Great stay
Quaint, cozy, clean and great location!
We absolutely loved our stay here! It was super cute, clean, very homey and the location was amazing! Right downtown Marquette, we had easy access to restaurants and Lake Superior, and it served as a great base for day trips to Munising. Thank you for having us James and Colleen, we can’t wait to return!
So glad you guys enjoyed your time in Marquette! Hope to see you again!
We greatly enjoyed our recent stay here. It was a very comfy and cozy place to return to after a day on the area's ski trails. We were amazed with all the thoughtful amenities and enjoyed all the personal touches. Close enough to walk to town too. It was perfect!
Cozy little home in a great location
This was our second visit to this home based on our very positive first experience. This is an extremely clean cozy little property that is literally a couple of blocks from a gorgeous beach on Lake superior. Close enough to attractions downtown that you could walk or ride bikes. The neighborhood is full of very nice and interesting Marquette style homes. Definitely makes you feel like you are staying at a friends house in a quiet neighborhood instead of some rental property. The home is small but feels cozy instead of cramped. Could very comfortably sleep people in three different areas including the pull out sofa. For a group of 2 to 4 people anything larger seems like it would be a waste. When visiting Marquette we are almost always out exploring anyhow so retiring back to this space at the end of the day is just perfect. The owners are very good at communicating and available if you need anything. Not sure what else you could need to spend a couple of days or couple of weeks in this property.
Wow! We are blushing...and really glad you enjoy our sweet little home!
Clean and well equiped. Good bed and linnens. Well stocked bathroom and kitchen.
We will definitely recommend this rental. It was very clean and well equipped.

Marquette has been nationally recognized for it's mountain biking and Nordic ski trail systems; and is also home to one of the best Midwest alpine ski facilities, Marquette Mountain.
We are also proud to have Northern Michigan University (NMU) as a resident, and all the college athletics (hockey, football, volleyball, Nordic skiing...) that come with it, as well as the Olympic Training Center that it supports.
NMU also provides the community with live theatre productions at The Forest Roberts Theatre; and in the summer, Lake Superior Theatre Company brings performance to the waterfront.
Marquette is home to many well known events throughout the year, beginning in January with the nationally known Noquemanon Ski Race; February brings the U.P. 200 Dogsled Races; and summer brings Food Festivals, Art on the Rocks, The Outback Art Fair, Blueberry Festival, The Blues Festival and the Ore2Shore Mountain Bike Race, just to name a few. Many of these events are held at Mattson Lower Harbor Park, just a short walk on the bike path away from this charming little home.
